1 D espués de estas cosas, Pablo salió de Atenas y fue a Corinto.

After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth;

2 Y halló a un judío llamado Aquila, natural del Ponto, recién venido de Italia con Priscila, su mujer, por cuanto Claudio había mandado que todos los judíos salieran de Roma. Fue a ellos

And found a certain Jew named Aquila, born in Pontus, lately come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla; (because that Claudius had commanded all Jews to depart from Rome:) and came unto them.

3 y , como era del mismo oficio, se quedó con ellos y trabajaban juntos, pues el oficio de ellos era hacer tiendas.

And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.

4 Y discutía en la sinagoga todos los sábados, y persuadía a judíos y a griegos.

And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks.

5 C uando Silas y Timoteo vinieron de Macedonia, Pablo estaba entregado por entero a la predicación de la palabra, testificando a los judíos que Jesús era el Cristo.

And when Silas and Timotheus were come from Macedonia, Paul was pressed in the spirit, and testified to the Jews that Jesus was Christ.

6 P ero oponiéndose y blasfemando estos, les dijo, sacudiéndose los vestidos: —Vuestra sangre sea sobre vuestra propia cabeza. Mi conciencia está limpia; desde ahora me iré a los gentiles.

And when they opposed themselves, and blasphemed, he shook his raiment, and said unto them, Your blood be upon your own heads; I am clean; from henceforth I will go unto the Gentiles.

7 S alió de allí y se fue a la casa de uno llamado Justo, temeroso de Dios, la cual estaba junto a la sinagoga.

And he departed thence, and entered into a certain man's house, named Justus, one that worshipped God, whose house joined hard to the synagogue.

8 C rispo, alto dignatario de la sinagoga, creyó en el Señor con toda su casa; y muchos de los corintios al oír, creían y eran bautizados.

And Crispus, the chief ruler of the synagogue, believed on the Lord with all his house; and many of the Corinthians hearing believed, and were baptized.

9 E ntonces el Señor dijo a Pablo en visión de noche: «No temas, sino habla y no calles,

Then spake the Lord to Paul in the night by a vision, Be not afraid, but speak, and hold not thy peace:

10 p orque yo estoy contigo y nadie pondrá sobre ti la mano para hacerte mal, porque yo tengo mucho pueblo en esta ciudad.»

For I am with thee, and no man shall set on thee to hurt thee: for I have much people in this city.

11 Y se detuvo allí un año y seis meses, enseñándoles la palabra de Dios.

And he continued there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

12 P ero siendo Galión procónsul de Acaya, los judíos se levantaron de común acuerdo contra Pablo y lo llevaron al tribunal,

And when Gallio was the deputy of Achaia, the Jews made insurrection with one accord against Paul, and brought him to the judgment seat,

13 d iciendo: —Éste persuade a los hombres a honrar a Dios contra la Ley.

Saying, This fellow persuadeth men to worship God contrary to the law.

14 A l comenzar Pablo a hablar, Galión dijo a los judíos: —Si fuera algún agravio o algún crimen enorme, judíos, conforme a derecho yo os toleraría;

And when Paul was now about to open his mouth, Gallio said unto the Jews, If it were a matter of wrong or wicked lewdness, O ye Jews, reason would that I should bear with you:

15 p ero si son cuestiones de palabras, de nombres y de vuestra Ley, vedlo vosotros, porque yo no quiero ser juez de estas cosas.

But if it be a question of words and names, and of your law, look ye to it; for I will be no judge of such matters.

16 Y los echó del tribunal.

And he drave them from the judgment seat.

17 E ntonces todos los griegos, apoderándose de Sóstenes, alto dignatario de la sinagoga, lo golpeaban delante del tribunal. Pero Galión no hacía caso alguno.

Then all the Greeks took Sosthenes, the chief ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. And Gallio cared for none of those things.

18 P ablo permaneció allí muchos días. Luego se despidió de los hermanos y navegó a Siria, junto con Priscila y Aquila. En Cencrea se rapó la cabeza, porque tenía hecho voto.

And Paul after this tarried there yet a good while, and then took his leave of the brethren, and sailed thence into Syria, and with him Priscilla and Aquila; having shorn his head in Cenchrea: for he had a vow.

19 L legó a Éfeso y los dejó allí; y entrando en la sinagoga, discutía con los judíos.

And he came to Ephesus, and left them there: but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

20 E stos le rogaban que se quedara con ellos más tiempo, pero él no accedió,

When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not;

21 s ino que se despidió de ellos, diciendo: —Es necesario que en todo caso yo celebre en Jerusalén la fiesta que viene; pero otra vez volveré a vosotros, si Dios quiere. Y zarpó de Éfeso.

But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if God will. And he sailed from Ephesus.

22 H abiendo llegado a Cesarea, subió para saludar a la iglesia y luego descendió a Antioquía.

And when he had landed at Caesarea, and gone up, and saluted the church, he went down to Antioch.

23 D espués de estar allí algún tiempo, salió y recorrió por orden la región de Galacia y de Frigia, animando a todos los discípulos. Apolos predica en Éfeso

And after he had spent some time there, he departed, and went over all the country of Galatia and Phrygia in order, strengthening all the disciples.

24 L legó entonces a Éfeso un judío llamado Apolos, natural de Alejandría, hombre elocuente, poderoso en las Escrituras.

And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus.

25 É ste había sido instruido en el camino del Señor; y siendo de espíritu fervoroso, hablaba y enseñaba diligentemente lo concerniente al Señor, aunque sólo conocía el bautismo de Juan.

This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

26 C omenzó, pues, a hablar con valentía en la sinagoga; pero cuando lo oyeron Priscila y Aquila, lo tomaron aparte y le expusieron con más exactitud el camino de Dios.

And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.

27 C uando él quiso pasar a Acaya, los hermanos lo animaron y escribieron a los discípulos que lo recibieran. Al llegar allá, fue de gran provecho a los que por la gracia habían creído,

And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:

28 p orque con gran vehemencia refutaba públicamente a los judíos, demostrando por las Escrituras que Jesús era el Cristo.

For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publicly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
