1 P alabra de Jehová que vino a Jeremías, diciendo:

The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying,

2 « Así habló Jehová, Dios de Israel: Escribe en un libro todas las palabras que te he hablado.

Thus speaketh the Lord God of Israel, saying, Write thee all the words that I have spoken unto thee in a book.

3 P orque vienen días, dice Jehová, en que haré volver a los cautivos de mi pueblo de Israel y de Judá, ha dicho Jehová, y los traeré a la tierra que di a sus padres, y la disfrutarán.»

For, lo, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will bring again the captivity of my people Israel and Judah, saith the Lord: and I will cause them to return to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.

4 É stas, pues, son las palabras que habló Jehová acerca de Israel y de Judá.

And these are the words that the Lord spake concerning Israel and concerning Judah.

5 A sí ha dicho Jehová: «¡Hemos oído gritos de terror y espanto! ¡No hay paz!

For thus saith the Lord; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

6 ¡ Inquirid ahora, considerad si un varón da a luz!, porque he visto que todos los hombres tenían las manos sobre sus caderas como la mujer que está de parto, y que se han puesto pálidos todos los rostros.

Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness?

7 ¡ Ah, cuán grande es aquel día! Tanto, que no hay otro semejante a él. Es un tiempo de angustia para Jacob, pero de ella será librado.

Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob's trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

8 » Aquel día, dice Jehová de los ejércitos, yo quebraré el yugo de su cuello y romperé sus coyundas, y extranjeros no volverán a ponerlo en servidumbre,

For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:

9 s ino que servirán a Jehová, su Dios, y a David, su rey, a quien yo les levantaré.

But they shall serve the Lord their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.

10 » Tú, pues, siervo mío Jacob, no temas, dice Jehová; no te atemorices, Israel, porque he aquí que yo soy el que te salvo de lejos, a ti y a tu descendencia, de la tierra de tu cautiverio. Jacob volverá, descansará y vivirá tranquilo, y no habrá quien lo espante.

Therefore fear thou not, O my servant Jacob, saith the Lord; neither be dismayed, O Israel: for, lo, I will save thee from afar, and thy seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be in rest, and be quiet, and none shall make him afraid.

11 P orque yo estoy contigo para salvarte, dice Jehová, y destruiré a todas las naciones entre las cuales te esparcí. Pero a ti no te destruiré, aunque te castigaré con justicia: de ninguna manera te dejaré sin castigo.»

For I am with thee, saith the Lord, to save thee: though I make a full end of all nations whither I have scattered thee, yet I will not make a full end of thee: but I will correct thee in measure, and will not leave thee altogether unpunished.

12 A sí ha dicho Jehová: «Incurable es tu quebrantamiento y dolorosa tu llaga.

For thus saith the Lord, Thy bruise is incurable, and thy wound is grievous.

13 N o hay quien juzgue tu causa para sanarte; no hay para ti medicina eficaz.

There is none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines.

14 T odos tus enamorados te olvidaron; no te buscan, porque te herí como hiere un enemigo, con azote de adversario cruel, a causa de la magnitud de tu maldad y de tus muchos pecados.

All thy lovers have forgotten thee; they seek thee not; for I have wounded thee with the wound of an enemy, with the chastisement of a cruel one, for the multitude of thine iniquity; because thy sins were increased.

15 ¿ Por qué gritas a causa de tu quebrantamiento? Incurable es tu dolor, porque por la grandeza de tu iniquidad y por tus muchos pecados te he hecho esto.

Why criest thou for thine affliction? thy sorrow is incurable for the multitude of thine iniquity: because thy sins were increased, I have done these things unto thee.

16 P ero serán devorados todos los que te devoran, y todos tus adversarios, todos ellos, irán al cautiverio; pisoteados serán los que te pisotearon, y a todos los que te despojaron, yo los entregaré al despojo.

Therefore all they that devour thee shall be devoured; and all thine adversaries, every one of them, shall go into captivity; and they that spoil thee shall be a spoil, and all that prey upon thee will I give for a prey.

17 M as yo haré venir sanidad para ti, y sanaré tus heridas, dice Jehová, porque “Desechada” te llamaron, diciendo: “Ésta es Sión, de la que nadie se acuerda.”»

For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord; because they called thee an Outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after.

18 A sí ha dicho Jehová: «He aquí yo hago volver a los cautivos de las tiendas de Jacob, y de sus tiendas tendré misericordia; la ciudad será edificada sobre su colina, y el palacio será asentado en su lugar.

Thus saith the Lord; Behold, I will bring again the captivity of Jacob's tents, and have mercy on his dwellingplaces; and the city shall be builded upon her own heap, and the palace shall remain after the manner thereof.

19 S aldrá de ellos acción de gracias y voz de nación que está en regocijo. Los multiplicaré y no serán disminuidos; los multiplicaré y no serán menoscabados.

And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

20 S erán sus hijos como antes, y su congregación delante de mí será confirmada. Yo castigaré a todos sus opresores.

Their children also shall be as aforetime, and their congregation shall be established before me, and I will punish all that oppress them.

21 D e ella saldrá su soberano, y de en medio de ella saldrá su gobernante. Lo haré acercarse y él se acercará a mí, porque ¿quién es aquel que se atreve a acercarse a mí?, dice Jehová.

And their nobles shall be of themselves, and their governor shall proceed from the midst of them; and I will cause him to draw near, and he shall approach unto me: for who is this that engaged his heart to approach unto me? saith the Lord.

22 E ntonces vosotros seréis mi pueblo y yo seré vuestro Dios.

And ye shall be my people, and I will be your God.

23 » La tempestad de Jehová sale con furor; la tempestad que se prepara se cierne sobre la cabeza de los impíos.

Behold, the whirlwind of the Lord goeth forth with fury, a continuing whirlwind: it shall fall with pain upon the head of the wicked.

24 N o se calmará el ardor de la ira de Jehová hasta que haya hecho y cumplido los pensamientos de su corazón. ¡Al final de los días entenderéis esto!

The fierce anger of the Lord shall not return, until he hath done it, and until he have performed the intents of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it.
