1 ¡ Ojalá me toleraseis un poco de locura! Sí, toleradme,

Would to God ye could bear with me a little in my folly: and indeed bear with me.

2 p orque os celo con celo de Dios, pues os he desposado con un solo esposo, para presentaros como una virgen pura a Cristo.

For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

3 P ero temo que, así como la serpiente con su astucia engañó a Eva, vuestros sentidos sean también de alguna manera extraviados de la sincera fidelidad a Cristo,

But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

4 p orque si viene alguno predicando a otro Jesús que el que os hemos predicado, o si recibís otro espíritu que el que habéis recibido, u otro evangelio que el que habéis aceptado, bien lo toleráis.

For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

5 P ienso que en nada he sido inferior a aquellos «grandes apóstoles»,

For I suppose I was not a whit behind the very chiefest apostles.

6 p ues aunque sea tosco en la palabra, no lo soy en el conocimiento; en todo y de todas maneras os lo hemos demostrado.

But though I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but we have been throughly made manifest among you in all things.

7 ¿ Pequé yo humillándome a mí mismo, para que vosotros fuerais enaltecidos, por cuanto os he predicado de balde el evangelio de Dios?

Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely?

8 H e despojado a otras iglesias, recibiendo salario para serviros a vosotros.

I robbed other churches, taking wages of them, to do you service.

9 Y cuando estaba entre vosotros y tuve necesidad, a ninguno fui carga, pues lo que me faltaba, lo suplieron los hermanos que vinieron de Macedonia, y en todo me cuidé y me cuidaré de seros una carga.

And when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was lacking to me the brethren which came from Macedonia supplied: and in all things I have kept myself from being burdensome unto you, and so will I keep myself.

10 P or la verdad de Cristo que está en mí, que no se me impedirá esta mi gloria en las regiones de Acaya.

As the truth of Christ is in me, no man shall stop me of this boasting in the regions of Achaia.

11 ¿ Por qué? ¿Porque no os amo? Dios lo sabe.

Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.

12 P ero lo que hago, lo seguiré haciendo, con el fin de quitar la ocasión de los que la desean para ser hallados semejantes a nosotros en aquello en que se glorían,

But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.

13 p orque éstos son falsos apóstoles, obreros fraudulentos, que se disfrazan de apóstoles de Cristo.

For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.

14 Y esto no es sorprendente, porque el mismo Satanás se disfraza de ángel de luz.

And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

15 A sí que, no es extraño si también sus ministros se disfrazan de ministros de justicia; cuyo fin será conforme a sus obras. Sufrimientos de Pablo como apóstol

Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

16 O tra vez digo: Que nadie me tenga por loco; o de otra manera, recibidme como a loco, para que yo también me gloríe un poquito.

I say again, let no man think me a fool; if otherwise, yet as a fool receive me, that I may boast myself a little.

17 L o que hablo, no lo hablo según el Señor, sino como si estuviera loco, con la confianza de tener de qué gloriarme.

That which I speak, I speak it not after the Lord, but as it were foolishly, in this confidence of boasting.

18 P uesto que muchos se glorían según la carne, también yo me gloriaré,

Seeing that many glory after the flesh, I will glory also.

19 p orque de buena gana toleráis a los necios, siendo vosotros cuerdos,

For ye suffer fools gladly, seeing ye yourselves are wise.

20 p ues toleráis si alguno os esclaviza, si alguno os devora, si alguno toma lo vuestro, si alguno se enaltece, si alguno os da de bofetadas.

For ye suffer, if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take of you, if a man exalt himself, if a man smite you on the face.

21 P ara vergüenza mía lo digo, para eso fuimos demasiado débiles. Pero en lo que otro sea atrevido (hablo con locura), también yo lo sea.

I speak as concerning reproach, as though we had been weak. Howbeit whereinsoever any is bold, (I speak foolishly,) I am bold also.

22 ¿ Son hebreos? Yo también. ¿Son israelitas? Yo también. ¿Son descendientes de Abraham? También yo.

Are they Hebrews? so am I. Are they Israelites? so am I. Are they the seed of Abraham? so am I.

23 ¿ Son ministros de Cristo? (Como si estuviera loco hablo.) Yo más; en trabajos, más abundante; en azotes, sin número; en cárceles, más; en peligros de muerte, muchas veces.

Are they ministers of Christ? (I speak as a fool) I am more; in labours more abundant, in stripes above measure, in prisons more frequent, in deaths oft.

24 D e los judíos cinco veces he recibido cuarenta azotes menos uno.

Of the Jews five times received I forty stripes save one.

25 T res veces he sido azotado con varas; una vez apedreado; tres veces he padecido naufragio; una noche y un día he sido náufrago en alta mar;

Thrice was I beaten with rods, once was I stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I have been in the deep;

26 e n caminos, muchas veces; en peligros de ríos, peligros de ladrones, peligros de los de mi nación, peligros de los gentiles, peligros en la ciudad, peligros en el desierto, peligros en el mar, peligros entre falsos hermanos;

In journeyings often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils by mine own countrymen, in perils by the heathen, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils among false brethren;

27 e n trabajo y fatiga, en muchos desvelos, en hambre y sed, en muchos ayunos, en frío y desnudez.

In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.

28 Y además de otras cosas, lo que sobre mí se añade cada día: la preocupación por todas las iglesias.

Beside those things that are without, that which cometh upon me daily, the care of all the churches.

29 ¿ Quién enferma y yo no enfermo? ¿A quién se le hace tropezar y yo no me indigno?

Who is weak, and I am not weak? who is offended, and I burn not?

30 S i es necesario gloriarse, me gloriaré en lo que es de mi debilidad.

If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things which concern mine infirmities.

31 E l Dios y Padre de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, quien es bendito por los siglos, sabe que no miento.

The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is blessed for evermore, knoweth that I lie not.

32 E n Damasco, el gobernador de la provincia del rey Aretas puso guardias en la ciudad de los damascenos para apresarme;

In Damascus the governor under Aretas the king kept the city of the damascenes with a garrison, desirous to apprehend me:

33 y fui descolgado en un canasto desde una ventana del muro, y escapé de sus manos.

And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and escaped his hands.
