1 F raţilor, dorinţa inimii mele şi rugăciunea mea către Dumnezeu pentru Israeliţi, este să fie mîntuiţi.

Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved.

2 L e mărturisesc că ei au rîvnă pentru Dumnezeu, dar fără pricepere:

For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.

3 p entrucă, întrucît n-au cunoscut neprihănirea, pe care o dă Dumnezeu, au căutat să-şi pună înainte o neprihănire a lor înşişi, şi nu s'au supus astfel neprihănirii, pe care o dă Dumnezeu.

For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God.

4 C ăci Hristos este sfîrşitul Legii, pentruca oricine crede în El, să poată căpăta neprihănirea.

For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

5 Î n adevăr, Moise scrie că omul care împlineşte neprihănirea, pe care o dă Legea, va trăi prin ea.

For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.”

6 P e cînd iată cum vorbeşte neprihănirea, pe care o dă credinţa:,, Să nu zici în inima ta:, Cine se va sui în cer?` (Să pogoare adică pe Hristos din cer).

But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down from above )

7 S au:, Cine se va pogorî în Adînc?` (Să scoale adică pe Hristos din morţi).

or, “‘Who will descend into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead).

8 C e zice ea deci?, Cuvîntul este aproape de tine: în gura ta şi în inima ta.` Şi cuvîntul acesta este cuvîntul credinţei, pe care -l propovăduim noi.

But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

9 D acă mărturiseşti deci cu gura ta pe Isus ca Domn, şi dacă crezi în inima ta că Dumnezeu L -a înviat din morţi, vei fi mîntuit.

that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 C ăci prin credinţa din inimă se capătă neprihănirea, şi prin mărturisirea cu gura se ajunge la mîntuire,

For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

11 d upă cum zice Scriptura:, Oricine crede în el, nu va fi dat de ruşine.`

For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

12 Î n adevăr, nu este nici o deosebire între Iudeu şi Grec; căci toţi au acelaş Domn, care este bogat în îndurare pentru toţi cei ce -L cheamă.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.

13 F iindcă, oricine va chema Numele Domnului, va fi mîntuit.`

For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Israel Rejects the Gospel

14 D ar cum vor chema pe Acela în care n'au crezut? Şi cum vor crede în Acela, despre care n'au auzit? Şi cum vor auzi despre El fără propovăduitor?

How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

15 Ş i cum vor propovădui, dacă nu sînt trimeşi? După cum este scris:, Cît de frumoase sînt picioarele celor ce vestesc pacea, ale celor ce vestesc Evanghelia!`

And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things!”

16 D ar nu toţi au ascultat de Evanghelie. Căci Isaia zice:, Doamne, cine a crezut propovăduirea noastră?`

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “L ord, who has believed our report?”

17 A stfel, credinţa vine în urma auzirii; iar auzirea vine prin Cuvîntul lui Hristos.

So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

18 D ar eu întreb:, N'au auzit ei?` Ba da; căci, glasul lor a răsunat prin tot pămîntul, şi cuvintele lor au ajuns pînă la marginile lumii.`

But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: “Their sound has gone out to all the earth, And their words to the ends of the world.”

19 D ar întreb iarăş:, N'a ştiut Israel lucrul acesta?` Ba da; căci Moise, cel dintîi, zice:, Vă voi întărîta la pizmă prin ceeace nu este neam, vă voi aţîţa mînia printr-un neam fără pricepere.`

But I say, did Israel not know? First Moses says: “I will provoke you to jealousy by those who are not a nation, I will move you to anger by a foolish nation.”

20 Ş i Isaia merge cu îndrăzneala pînă acolo că zice:, Am fost găsit de ceice nu Mă căutau; M'am făcut cunoscut celor ce nu întrebau de Mine.`

But Isaiah is very bold and says: “I was found by those who did not seek Me; I was made manifest to those who did not ask for Me.”

21 P e cînd, despre Israel zice:, Toată ziua Mi-am întins mînile spre un norod răzvrătit şi împotrivitor la vorbă.`

But to Israel he says: “All day long I have stretched out My hands To a disobedient and contrary people.”
