1 Ş i David a zis:,, Aici să fie Casa Domnului Dumnezeu, şi aici să fie altarul arderilor de tot pentru Israel.``

Then David said, “This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”

2 D avid a strîns pe străinii din ţara lui Israel, şi a însărcinat pe cioplitorii de piatră să pregătească pietre cioplite pentru zidirea Casei lui Dumnezeu.

So David commanded to gather the aliens who were in the land of Israel; and he appointed masons to cut hewn stones to build the house of God.

3 A pregătit şi fer din belşug pentru cuiele dela aripile uşilor şi pentru scoabe, aramă atît de multă încît nu puteau s'o numere,

And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails of the doors of the gates and for the joints, and bronze in abundance beyond measure,

4 ş i lemne de cedru fără număr, căci Sidonienii şi Tirienii aduseseră lui David lemne de cedru din belşug.

and cedar trees in abundance; for the Sidonians and those from Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

5 D avid zicea:,, Fiul meu Solomon este tînăr şi plăpînd, şi casa care va fi zidită Domnului trebuie să fie de mare faimă şi slavă în toate ţările; de aceea vreau să -i pregătesc cele de trebuinţă pentru zidirea ei.`` Şi David a făcut mari pregătiri înainte de moarte.

Now David said, “Solomon my son is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the Lord must be exceedingly magnificent, famous and glorious throughout all countries. I will now make preparation for it.” So David made abundant preparations before his death.

6 D avid a chemat pe fiul său Solomon, şi i -a poruncit să zidească o casă Domnului, Dumnezeul lui Israel.

Then he called for his son Solomon, and charged him to build a house for the Lord God of Israel.

7 D avid a zis lui Solomon:,, Fiul meu, aveam de gînd să zidesc o casă Numelui Domnului, Dumnezeului meu.

And David said to Solomon: “My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build a house to the name of the Lord my God;

8 D ar cuvîntul Domnului mi -a vorbit astfel:, Tu ai vărsat mult sînge, şi ai făcut mari războaie; de aceea nu vei zidi o casă Numelui Meu, căci ai vărsat înaintea Mea mult sînge pe pămînt.

but the word of the Lord came to me, saying, ‘You have shed much blood and have made great wars; you shall not build a house for My name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in My sight.

9 I ată că ţi se va naşte un fiu, care va fi un om al odihnei, şi căruia îi voi da odihnă, izbăvindu -l din mîna tuturor vrăjmaşilor lui de jur împrejur; căci numele lui va fi Solomon (Pace), şi voi aduce peste Israel pacea şi liniştea în timpul vieţii lui.

Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

10 E l va zidi o casă Numelui Meu. El Îmi va fi fiu, şi Eu îi voi fi Tată; şi voi întări pe vecie scaunul de domnie al împărăţiei lui în Israel.`

He shall build a house for My name, and he shall be My son, and I will be his Father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’

11 A cum, fiule, Domnul să fie cu tine, ca să propăşeşti şi să zideşti Casa Domnului, Dumnezeului tău, cum a spus El despre tine!

Now, my son, may the Lord be with you; and may you prosper, and build the house of the Lord your God, as He has said to you.

12 N umai să-ţi dea Domnul înţelepciune şi pricepere, şi să te facă să domneşti peste Israel în păzirea legii Domnului, Dumnezeului tău!

Only may the Lord give you wisdom and understanding, and give you charge concerning Israel, that you may keep the law of the Lord your God.

13 A tunci vei propăşi, dacă vei căuta să împlineşti legile şi poruncile pe cari le -a dat lui Moise Domnul pentru Israel. Întăreşte-te şi îmbărbătează-te, nu te teme şi nu te spăimînta.

Then you will prosper, if you take care to fulfill the statutes and judgments with which the Lord charged Moses concerning Israel. Be strong and of good courage; do not fear nor be dismayed.

14 I ată, prin străduinţele mele, am pregătit pentru Casa Domnului o sută de mii de talanţi de aur, un milion de talanţi de argint, şi o mulţime de aramă şi de fer, care nu se poate cîntări, căci este foarte mult; am pregătit deasemenea lemne şi pietre, şi vei mai adăuga şi tu.

Indeed I have taken much trouble to prepare for the house of the Lord one hundred thousand talents of gold and one million talents of silver, and bronze and iron beyond measure, for it is so abundant. I have prepared timber and stone also, and you may add to them.

15 T u ai la tine un mare număr de lucrători, cioplitori de piatră, şi tîmplari, şi oameni îndemînatici în tot felul de lucrări.

Moreover there are workmen with you in abundance: woodsmen and stonecutters, and all types of skillful men for every kind of work.

16 A urul, argintul, arama şi ferul sînt fără număr. Scoală-te dar şi lucrează, şi Domnul să fie cu tine.``

Of gold and silver and bronze and iron there is no limit. Arise and begin working, and the Lord be with you.”

17 D avid a poruncit tuturor căpeteniilor lui Israel să vină în ajutor fiului său Solomon, zicînd:

David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

18 D omnul, Dumnezeul vostru, nu este oare cu voi, şi nu v'a dat El odihnă de toate părţile? Căci a dat în mînile mele pe locuitorii ţării, şi ţara este supusă înaintea Domnului şi înaintea poporului Său.

“ Is not the Lord your God with you? And has He not given you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and before His people.

19 P uneţi-vă acum inima şi sufletul să caute pe Domnul, Dumnezeul vostru; sculaţi-vă, şi zidiţi sfîntul locaş al Domnului Dumnezeu, ca să aduceţi chivotul legămîntului Domnului şi uneltele închinate lui Dumnezeu în casa care va fi zidită Numelui Domnului.``

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God. Therefore arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles of God into the house that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”
