¶ The foolishness of man perverts his way, and his heart is wroth against the LORD.
4 M aalku wuxuu badiyaa saaxiibbo, Laakiinse miskiinku saaxiibkiisa buu ka soocmaa.
¶ Wealth makes many friends, but the poor is separated from his neighbour.
5 M arkhaatigii been ahu ma taqsiir la'aan doono, Oo kii been ku hadlaana ma baxsan doono.
¶ A false witness shall not go unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall not escape.
6 K uwa badan ayaa deeqsiga raallinimo ka baryi doona, Oo nin kastaaba waa u saaxiib kii hadiyado bixiya.
¶ Many will intreat the favour of the prince, but every man is a friend to him that gives.
7 M iskiinka walaalihiis oo dhammu way neceb yihiin, Haddaba saaxiibbadiisuna intee bay ka fogaan doonaan! Isagu hadal buu kala daba tagaa iyaga, laakiinse way tageen.
All the brethren of the poor hate him; how much more shall his friends separate themselves from him? He shall seek their friendship and not find it.
8 K ii xigmadda helaa naftiisuu jecel yahay, Oo kii waxgarashada xajistaana wax wanaagsan buu heli doonaa.
¶ He that gets wisdom loves his own soul; he keeps intelligence that he might find that which is good.
9 M arkhaatigii been ahu ma taqsiir la'aan doono, Oo kii been ku hadlaana wuu halligmi doonaa.
¶ The false witness shall not go unpunished, and he that speaks lies shall perish.
10 N acaska raaxo uma eka, Waxaana taas ka sii liita in addoon amiirro xukumo.
¶ Delight is not suitable for a fool; much less for a slave to have rule over princes.
11 N in miyirkiisu cadho buu ka celiyaa, Oo waxaa isaga ammaan u ah inuu xadgudub dhaafo.
¶ The discretion of a man defers his anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.
12 B oqorka cadhadiisu waa sida libaaxa cidiisa, Laakiinse raallinimadiisu waa sida sayaxa cawska ku dega.
¶ The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion, but his favour is as dew upon the grass.
13 W iilkii nacas ahu waa u belaayo aabbihiis, Oo naag murammadeeduna waa sida dhibicyo aan kala go'in.
¶ A foolish son is a pain unto his father, and the contentions of a wife are a continual dripping.
14 H oy iyo hanti aabbayaashaa laga dhaxlaa, Laakiinse afo miyir leh xagga Rabbigaa laga helaa.
¶ House and riches are the inheritance from fathers, but the prudent wife is from the LORD.
15 C aajisnimo waxay keentaa hurdo weyn, Oo qofkii caajis ahuna wuu gaajoon doonaa.
¶ Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and the negligent soul shall suffer hunger.
16 K ii amarka dhawraa naftiisuu dhawraa, Laakiinse kii jidadkiisa fudaydsadaa wuu dhiman doonaa.
¶ He that keeps the commandment keeps his own soul, but he that despises his ways shall die.
17 K ii miskiinka u naxaa Rabbiguu wax amaahiyaa, Oo wanaaggii uu sameeyeyna wuu u celin doonaa.
¶ He that gives unto the poor lends unto the LORD, and he will give him his reward.
18 W iilkaaga edbi intay rajo jirto, Laakiinse naftaada ha ku qasbin si uu u dhinto.
¶ Chasten thy son while there is hope, but do not stir up thy soul to destroy him.
19 N inkii cadho badan waa la taqsiiri doonaa, Waayo, haddaad mar isaga samatabbixiso, haddana waa inaad mar kale sidii oo kale ku samaysaa.
¶ A man of great wrath shall suffer the consequences, for even if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.
20 T alada maqal, oo edbinta qaado, Si aad ugu dambaystaada caqli u yeelatid.
¶ Hear counsel, and receive chastening that thou may be wise in thy old age.
21 N in qalbigiisa waxaa ku jira hindisooyin badan, Habase ahaatee waxaa taagnaan doonta talada Rabbiga.
¶ There are many thoughts in the heart of man; nevertheless the counsel of the LORD shall stand.
22 N in waxaa loo doonayaa waa raxmaddiisa, Oo miskiinkuna waa ka wanaagsan yahay beenaalaha.
¶ Contentment is unto men to show mercy, but it is better to do it unto the poor than to the liar.
23 K ii Rabbiga ka cabsada waxaa loo kaxeeyaa xagga nolosha, Wuuna sii dheregsanaan doonaa, Oo sharna loo keeni maayo.
¶ The fear of the LORD is unto life, and he that has it shall live satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
24 N inkii caajis ahu wuxuu gacanta geliyaa xeedhada, Oo mar dambe xagga afkiisa uma soo celiyo.
¶ The slothful man hides his hand in his bosom and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.
25 K an wax quudhsada garaac, oo garaadlaawaha ayaa miyir yeelan doona, Oo kii garasho leh canaano, oo isna aqoon buu sii korodhsan doonaa.
¶ Smite a scorner, and the simple will become prudent, and reproving one that has understanding, he will understand knowledge.
26 K ii aabbihiis kharriba, hooyadiisna erya, Waa wiil ceeb keena oo cay soo jiida.
¶ He that steals from his father and chases away his mother is a son that causes shame and brings reproach.
27 W iilkaygiiyow ka joogso in markaad edbinta maqashid Aad dabadeed hadalka aqoonta ka ambatid.
¶ Cease, my son, to hear the teaching that induces one to deviate from the reasons of wisdom.
28 M arkhaatigii waxmatare ahu gartuu quudhsadaa, Oo kan sharka leh afkiisuna wuxuu liqaa xumaan.
¶ A witness of Belial shall scorn judgment, and the mouth of the wicked shall cover iniquity.
29 K uwa wax quudhsada waxaa loo diyaariyey xukunno, Oo dhabarka nacasyadana waxaa loo diyaariyey karbaash.
¶ Judgments are prepared for scorners and stripes for the back of fools.
