1 D adkaygiiyow, sharcigayga dhegaysta, Oo dhegahana u dhiga erayada afkayga.

¶ Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth.

2 A fkayga waxaan ku furi doonaa masaal, Oo waxaan ku dhawaaqi doonaa xujooyin hore,

I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter enigmas of old,

3 K uwaasoo aynu maqalnay oo aynu niqiin, Oo ay awowayaasheen inoo sheegeen.

which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.

4 K a qarin mayno carruurtooda, Laakiin waxaynu farcanka soo socda u sheegaynaa Rabbiga ammaantiisa, Iyo xooggiisa, iyo shuqulladiisii yaabka badnaa oo uu sameeyey.

We will not hide them from their sons, showing to the generation to come the praises of the LORD and his strength and his wonderful works that he has done.

5 W aayo, markhaati buu reer Yacquub ka dhex dhisay, Oo sharci buu reer binu Israa'iil u dejiyey, Kaasoo uu ku amray awowayaasheen, Inay carruurtooda dambe ogeysiiyaan aawadeed,

For he established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their sons:

6 I yo in farcanka soo socdaa ay iyaga ogaadaan, kuwaasoo ah carruurta hadda ka dib dhalanaysa, Kuwaasoo iyana kici doona oo carruurtooda u sheegi doona,

That the generation to come might know them, even the sons which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their sons

7 I nay rajadooda Ilaah ku xidhaan, Oo aanay illoobin Ilaah shuqulladiisii, Laakiinse ay xajiyaan amarradiisa,

that they might set their hope in God and not forget the works of God but keep his commandments

8 O o aanay sidii awowayaashood oo kale noqon Farcan madax adag oo caasi badan, Kaasoo ah farcan aan qalbigoodu qummanayn, Oo naftooduna aanay xagga Ilaah aamin ku ahayn.

and might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set their heart aright and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.

9 R eer Efrayim iyagoo hub iyo qaansooyin sita Ayay maalintii dagaalka dib u noqdeen.

¶ The sons of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle.

10 A xdigii Ilaah ma ay xajin, Oo waxay diideen inay sharcigiisii ku socdaan,

They did not keep the covenant of God and refused to walk in his law

11 O o waxay illoobeen falimihiisa Iyo shuqulladiisii yaabka badnaa oo uu iyaga tusay.

and forgot his works and his wonders that he had showed them.

12 W axyaalo yaab badan ayuu awowayaashood ku hor sameeyey, Markay joogeen dalkii Masar iyo berrinkii Socan.

He did marvellous things in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.

13 I sagu badduu kala gooyay, oo iyagii dhex marsiiyey, Oo biyihiina wuxuu ka dhigay inay sidii taallo u taagnaadaan.

He divided the sea and caused them to pass through, and he made the waters to stand as a heap.

14 O o weliba maalinnimadii wuxuu ku hoggaamiyey daruur, Oo habeennimadii oo dhanna wuxuu ku hoggaamiyey dab iftiinkiis.

In the daytime also he led them with a cloud and all the night with a light of fire.

15 W uxuu kala jebiyey dhagaxyadii cidlada, Oo wuxuu iyaga ka siiyey cabniin aad u badan oo ah sidii kan moolka laga helo.

He clave the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as out of the great depths.

16 O o weliba wuxuu dhagaxa weyn ka soo faruuray durdurro, Oo wuxuu biyo u qulquliyey sidii webiyada oo kale.

He brought streams also out of the rock and caused waters to run down like rivers.

17 L aakiinse iyagu weli way ku sii socdeen inay isaga ku dembaabaan, Inay ku caasiyoobaan Ilaaha ugu sarreeya intii ay cidladii joogeen.

And they sinned yet more against him by provoking the most High in the wilderness.

18 O o weliba Ilaah waxay ku tijaabiyeen qalbigooda Kolkii ay hilib u weyddiisteen damacooda aawadiis.

And they tempted God in their heart by asking for food according to the desires of their soul.

19 O o Ilaah bay wax ka sheegeen, Oo waxay yidhaahdeen, Ilaah ma miis buu cidlada ku diyaarin karaa?

And they spoke against God; they said, Can God furnish a table in the wilderness?

20 B al eeg, dhagaxii ayuu wax ku dhuftay, markaasaa biyo ka soo buqdeen Oo durdurraa ka soo buuxdhaafay, Haddaba miyuu kibisna bixin karaa? Miyuu dadkiisa hilib siin karaa?

Behold, he smote the rock that the waters gushed out, and the streams overflowed; can he give bread also? can he provide flesh for his people?

21 S idaas daraaddeed Rabbigu taas buu maqlay, wuuna cadhooday, Oo reer Yacquub dab baa ku shidmay, Reer binu Israa'iilna cadhaa ku dhacday,

Therefore the LORD heard this and was wroth, so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also came up against Israel

22 M axaa yeelay, Ilaah ma ay rumaysan, Oo badbaadintiisana iskuma ay hallayn.

because they had not believed God, nor had they trusted in his saving health;

23 L aakiin isagu wuxuu amray cirka sare Oo albaabbadii samadana wuu furay;

and he commanded the clouds of above and opened the doors of the heavens

24 O o wuxuu ku soo daayay maanna ay cunaan, Oo wuxuu iyagii wax ka siiyey hadhuudhkii samada.

and caused manna to rain upon them to eat and gave them wheat of the heavens.

25 D adkii waxay cuneen kibistii malaa'igaha, Oo weliba wuxuu iyaga u soo diray hilib ay ka dhergaan.

Man did eat the food of the strong; he sent them food to the full.

26 I sagu wuxuu samada ka kiciyey dabaysha bari, Oo dabaysha koonfureedna xooggiisuu ku hoggaamiyey.

He caused an east wind to blow in the heaven, and by his power he brought in the south wind.

27 O o korkoodana hilib buu ugu soo daadiyey sidii ciidda oo kale, Oo wuxuu ku soo daayay haad baalal leh oo ah sidii cammuudda badaha,

He rained flesh also upon them as dust and feathered fowls like as the sand of the sea:

28 O o wuxuu ku soo daadiyey xeradooda dhexdeeda, Iyo rugahooda hareerahooda.

And he let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their habitations.

29 S idaas daraaddeed iyagii way cuneen, oo aad bay uga dhergeen, Oo isna wuxuu iyagii siiyey wixii ay u jeellanaayeen.

So they did eat and were well filled; for he gave them their own desire;

30 I yagu jeelkii damacooda kama ay xiisa dhicin, Oo cuntadoodii weli afkooday ku jirtay,

they were not estranged from their lust. But while their food was yet in their mouths,

31 M arkii cadhada Ilaah ay iyaga ku dhacday, Oo ay dishay kuwii iyaga ugu buurbuurnaa, Oo ay laysay raggii dhallinyarada ahaa oo reer binu Israa'iil.

the wrath of God came upon them and slew the fattest of them and smote down the chosen of Israel.

32 I n kastoo waxyaalahaas oo dhammu ay ku dheceen, Weli way sii dembaabeen, Oo mana ay rumaysan shuqulladiisii yaabka badnaa.

For all this they sinned still and did not give him credit for his wondrous works.

33 S idaas daraaddeed maalmahoodii wuxuu ku dhammeeyey wax aan waxtar lahayn, Cimrigoodiina cabsi.

Therefore he consumed their days in vanity and their years in tribulation.

34 M arkii uu iyaga laayay ayay isaga dooneen, Oo haddiiba way soo noqdeen oo Ilaah goor hore doondooneen.

When he slew them, then they sought him, and they returned and enquired early after God.

35 O o waxay xusuusteen in Ilaah ahaa dhagaxoodii weynaa, Iyo in Ilaaha ugu sarreeyaa uu ahaa Bixiyahooda.

And they remembered that God was their rock and the high God their redeemer.

36 L aakiinse waxay isaga ku faansheen afkooda, Oo carrabkoodana been bay ugu sheegeen.

Nevertheless they flattered him with their mouth, and they lied unto him with their tongues.

37 W aayo, qalbigoodu xaggiisa kuma hagaagsanayn, Oo axdigiisiina daacad uma ay ahayn.

For their heart was not right with him, neither were they steadfast in his covenant.

38 L aakiinse isagoo raxmad miidhan ah ayuu xumaantoodii cafiyey, oo mana uu baabbi'in iyagii, Haah, oo marar badan ayuu cadhadiisii ka leexiyey, Oo cadhadiisii oo dhanna ma uu wada kicin.

But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; many a time turned he his anger away and did not stir up all his wrath.

39 O o wuxuu xusuustay inay iyagu yihiin binu-aadmi, Iyo dabayl iska gudubta oo aan mar dambe soo noqon.

For he remembered that they were but flesh: a wind that passes away and does not come again.

40 I mmisa jeer bay isaga ku caasiyoobeen markay cidlada joogeen, Oo immisa jeer bay calool xumeeyeen markay lamadegaanka dhex joogeen!

¶ How often did they provoke him in the wilderness and grieve him in the desert!

41 O o haddana way soo noqdeen oo waxay tijaabiyeen Ilaah, Oo waxay ka xanaajiyeen reer binu Israa'iil Kooda Quduuska ah.

And they turned back and tempted God and limited the Holy One of Israel.

42 S ooma ay xusuusan gacantiisii, Iyo maalintii uu iyaga ka soo furtay cadowga toona,

They did not remember his hand, nor the day when he ransomed them from anguish.

43 I yo xataa siduu calaamooyinkiisii Masar ugu dhex sameeyey, Yaababkiisiina berrinkii Socan.

How he had wrought his signs in Egypt and his wonders in the field of Zoan

44 I yo siduu webiyaashoodii dhiigga ugu beddelay, Durdurradoodiina, si aanay waxba uga cabbi karin.

and had turned their rivers into blood and their floods, that they could not drink.

45 W uxuu ku soo dhex daayay duqsiyo badan, wayna cuneen, Iyo xataa rahyo, oo iyana way baabbi'iyeen.

He sent swarms of flies among them, which devoured them, and frogs, which destroyed them.

46 O o weliba wixii u baxay wuxuu siiyey diir, Oo waxay ku hawshoodeenna wuxuu siiyey ayax.

He gave also their fruits unto the caterpillar and their works unto the locust.

47 G eedcanabkoodii wuxuu ku baabbi'iyey roobdhagaxyaale, Oo dhirtoodii darayga ahaydna wuxuu ku baabbi'iyey sayax barafoobay.

He destroyed their vines with hail and their wild fig trees with stones.

48 X oolahoodii wuxuu ku soo daayay roobdhagaxyaalaha, Adhyahoodiina danabyo kulul.

He gave up their cattle also to the hail and their flocks to thunderbolts of fire.

49 O o wuxuu ku soo daayay kulaylkii cadhadiisa, Iyo xanaaq, iyo dhirif, iyo dhib, Iyo guuto ah malaa'igo shar ah.

He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation and trouble by sending evil angels among them.

50 I sagu cadhadiisii wadduu u sameeyey, Oo naftoodiina dhimasho ugama uu lexejeclaan, Laakiinse noloshoodii wuxuu u daayay belaayada,

He made a way to his anger; he did not spare their soul from death but gave their life over to the pestilence

51 O o wuxuu dalkii Masar ku laayay curadyadii oo dhan, Kuwaas oo ahaa xooggoodii u horreeyey oo uu ku dhex laayay teendhooyinkii Xaam,

and smote all the firstborn in Egypt, the firstfruits of their strength in the tents of Ham:

52 L aakiinse isagu dadkiisii sidii ido oo kale ayuu u hor kacay, Oo cidladuu ku dhex hoggaamiyey iyaga sidii adhi oo kale.

But made his own people to go forth like sheep and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.

53 O o ammaan buu ku hoggaamiyey, si aanay u baqin, Laakiinse cadaawayaashoodii baddaa qarqisay.

And he led them on safely, so that they feared not; but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.

54 O o wuxuu iyagii keenay xuduudkii meeshiisa quduuska ah, Iyo ilaa buurtan ay midigtiisu iibsatay.

And he brought them into the borders of his holiness, into this mountain, which his right hand had purchased.

55 O o weliba hortoodana wuxuu ka eryay quruumaha, Oo dhaxal ahaan buu ugu qaybiyey. Oo qabiilooyinkii reer binu Israa'iilna wuxuu dejiyey teendhooyinkoodii.

He cast out the Gentiles also before them and divided them an inheritance by line and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their habitations.

56 L aakiin way jirrabeen oo ku caasiyoobeen Ilaaha ugu sarreeya, Oo markhaatifurkiisiina ma ay xajin,

Yet they tempted and provoked the most high God and did not keep his testimonies:

57 L aakiinse dib bay u noqdeen, oo sidii awowayaashood ayay si aan daacad ahayn ula dhaqmeen, Oo iyagu waxay u leexdeen sidii qaanso khiyaano badan.

But turned back and rebelled like their fathers; they became like a deceitful bow.

58 W aayo, waxay isaga kaga xanaajiyeen meelahoodii sarsare, Oo waxay isaga uga hinaasiyeen sanamyadooda la qoray.

For they provoked him to anger with their high places and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.

59 I laah markuu taas maqlay ayuu cadhooday, Oo aad buu reer binu Israa'iil u karhay,

God heard this and was wroth and greatly abhorred Israel:

60 S idaas daraaddeed taambuuggii Shiiloh wuu dayriyey, Kaasoo ah teendhadii uu dadka dhex dhigay,

For this reason he forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent in which he dwelt among men

61 O o xooggiisii wuxuu u gacangeliyey maxaabiisnimo, Ammaantiisiina wuxuu ku riday cadowga gacantiisii.

and delivered his strength into captivity and his glory into the enemy’s hand.

62 D adkiisiina wuxuu u gacangeliyey seef, Oo wuxuu u cadhooday dhaxalkiisii.

He gave his people over also unto the sword and was wroth with his inheritance.

63 R aggoodii dhallinyarada ahaa dab baa laastay, Gabdhahoodiina buraanbur aroos looma tirin.

The fire consumed their young men; and their virgins were not honored in marriage songs.

64 W adaaddadoodii waxay ku dhinteen seef, Carmalladoodiina uma ay barooran.

Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.

65 M arkaasaa Sayidku wuxuu u kacay sidii mid hurdo ka toosay, Sidii nin xoog badan oo la qaylinaya khamri daraaddiis.

Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep and like a mighty man that shouts by reason of wine.

66 C adaawayaashiisiina wuu ku dhuftay oo dib buu u celiyey, Oo wuxuu saaray ceeb aan weligeed ka hadhayn.

And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts; he put them to a perpetual reproach.

67 O o weliba wuu diiday teendhadii reer Yuusuf, Qabiilkii reer Efrayimna ma uu dooran,

Moreover he refused the tent of Joseph and did not choose the tribe of Ephraim:

68 L aakiinse wuxuu doortay qabiilkii reer Yahuudah, Iyo Buur Siyoon oo uu jeclaaday.

But chose the tribe of Judah, the Mount Zion which he loved.

69 O o meeshiisii quduuska ahayd wuxuu u dhisay sidii meelaha sare, Iyo sidii dhulka uu weligiis adkeeyey.

And he built his sanctuary in preeminence like the earth which he has established for ever.

70 W uxuuna doortay addoonkiisii Daa'uud, Oo wuxuu isaga ka soo waday xeryaha idaha,

He chose David also his slave and took him from the sheepfolds,

71 W uxuu ka soo waday laxihii ilmo nuujinayay oo uu raacayay, Inuu daajiyo reer Yacquub oo dadkiisa ah, iyo reer binu Israa'iil oo dhaxalkiisa ah.

from following the ewes great with young, he brought him to feed Jacob his people and Israel his inheritance.

72 H addaba wuxuu u daajinayay si waafaqsan daacadnimada qalbigiisa, Oo wuxuu ku hoggaaminayay farsamada gacmihiisa.

So he fed them out of the integrity of his heart and guided them by the intelligence of his hands.
