1 “ I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.

»Yo soy la vid verdadera, y mi Padre es el labrador.

2 E very branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.

Todo pámpano que en mí no lleva fruto, lo quitará; y todo aquel que lleva fruto, lo limpiará, para que lleve más fruto.

3 Y ou are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.

Ustedes ya están limpios, por la palabra que les he hablado.

4 A bide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.

Permanezcan en mí, y yo en ustedes. Así como el pámpano no puede llevar fruto por sí mismo, si no permanece en la vid, así tampoco ustedes, si no permanecen en mí.

5 I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.

Yo soy la vid y ustedes los pámpanos; el que permanece en mí, y yo en él, éste lleva mucho fruto; porque separados de mí ustedes nada pueden hacer.

6 I f anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned.

El que no permanece en mí, será desechado como pámpano, y se secará; a éstos se les recoge y se les arroja al fuego, y allí arden.

7 I f you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.

Si permanecen en mí, y mis palabras permanecen en ustedes, pidan todo lo que quieran, y se les concederá.

8 M y Father is glorified by this, that you bear much fruit, and so prove to be My disciples.

En esto es glorificado mi Padre: en que lleven mucho fruto, y sean así mis discípulos.

9 J ust as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love.

Así como el Padre me ha amado, así también yo los he amado a ustedes; permanezcan en mi amor.

10 I f you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.

Si obedecen mis mandamientos, permanecerán en mi amor; así como yo he obedecido los mandamientos de mi Padre, y permanezco en su amor.

11 T hese things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full. Disciples’ Relation to Each Other

Estas cosas les he hablado, para que mi gozo esté en ustedes, y su gozo sea completo.

12 “ This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you.

ȃste es mi mandamiento: Que se amen unos a otros, como yo los he amado.

13 G reater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.

Nadie tiene mayor amor que éste, que es el poner su vida por sus amigos.

14 Y ou are My friends if you do what I command you.

Ustedes son mis amigos, si hacen lo que yo les mando.

15 N o longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you.

Ya no los llamaré siervos, porque el siervo no sabe lo que hace su señor; yo los he llamado amigos, porque todas las cosas que oí de mi Padre, se las he dado a conocer a ustedes.

16 Y ou did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

»Ustedes no me eligieron a mí. Más bien, yo los elegí a ustedes, y los he puesto para que vayan y lleven fruto, y su fruto permanezca; para que todo lo que pidan al Padre en mi nombre, él se lo conceda.

17 T his I command you, that you love one another. Disciples’ Relation to the World

Éste es mi mandamiento para ustedes: Que se amen unos a otros. El mundo los aborrecerá

18 “ If the world hates you, you know that it has hated Me before it hated you.

»Si el mundo los aborrece, sepan que a mí me ha aborrecido antes que a ustedes.

19 I f you were of the world, the world would love its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

Si ustedes fueran del mundo, el mundo amaría lo suyo; pero el mundo los aborrece porque ustedes no son del mundo, aun cuando yo los elegí del mundo.

20 R emember the word that I said to you, ‘ A slave is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they kept My word, they will keep yours also.

»Acuérdense de la palabra que les he dicho: El siervo no es mayor que su señor. Si a mí me han perseguido, también a ustedes los perseguirán; si han obedecido mi palabra, también obedecerán la de ustedes.

21 B ut all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

Pero todo esto les harán por causa de mi nombre, porque no conocen al que me ha enviado.

22 I f I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.

Si yo no hubiera venido, ni les hubiera hablado, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora no tienen excusa por su pecado.

23 H e who hates Me hates My Father also.

El que me aborrece a mí, también aborrece a mi Padre.

24 I f I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated Me and My Father as well.

Si yo no hubiera hecho entre ellos las obras que ningún otro ha hecho, no tendrían pecado; pero ahora las han visto, y nos han aborrecido tanto a mí como a mi Padre.

25 B ut they have done this to fulfill the word that is written in their Law, ‘ They hated Me without a cause.’

Pero esto es para que se cumpla la palabra que está escrita en su ley: “Me aborrecieron sin motivo.”

26 “ When the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify about Me,

Pero cuando venga el Consolador, el Espíritu de verdad, el cual procede del Padre y a quien yo les enviaré de parte del Padre, él dará testimonio acerca de mí.

27 a nd you will testify also, because you have been with Me from the beginning.

Y ustedes también darán testimonio, porque han estado conmigo desde el principio.
