1 T hus all the work that Solomon performed for the house of the Lord was finished. And Solomon brought in the things that David his father had dedicated, even the silver and the gold and all the utensils, and put them in the treasuries of the house of God.

2 T hen Solomon assembled to Jerusalem the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes, the leaders of the fathers’ households of the sons of Israel, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

Entonces Salomón reunió en Jerusalén a los ancianos de Israel y a todos los príncipes de las tribus y a los jefes de las familias israelitas, para que trasladaran el arca del pacto del Señor desde la ciudad de David, que es Sión.

3 A ll the men of Israel assembled themselves to the king at the feast, that is in the seventh month.

Con el rey se reunieron todos los varones de Israel, para celebrar la fiesta solemne del mes séptimo.

4 T hen all the elders of Israel came, and the Levites took up the ark.

Todos los ancianos de Israel hicieron acto de presencia, y los levitas tomaron el arca

5 T hey brought up the ark and the tent of meeting and all the holy utensils which were in the tent; the Levitical priests brought them up.

y la llevaron, junto con el tabernáculo de reunión y todos los utensilios del santuario que estaban en el tabernáculo. Los sacerdotes y los levitas los llevaron.

6 A nd King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel who were assembled with him before the ark, were sacrificing so many sheep and oxen that they could not be counted or numbered.

Luego el rey Salomón y toda la congregación israelita allí reunida delante del arca, sacrificaron ovejas y bueyes. ¡Eran tantos que no se pudieron contar!

7 T hen the priests brought the ark of the covenant of the Lord to its place, into the inner sanctuary of the house, to the holy of holies, under the wings of the cherubim.

Los sacerdotes llevaron el arca del pacto del Señor a su lugar, en el santuario del templo, en el lugar santísimo, bajo las alas de los querubines.

8 F or the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark, so that the cherubim made a covering over the ark and its poles.

Los querubines extendían las alas sobre el lugar del arca, y de esa manera cubrían por encima tanto el arca como sus barras.

9 T he poles were so long that the ends of the poles of the ark could be seen in front of the inner sanctuary, but they could not be seen outside; and they are there to this day.

Éstas sobresalían del arca, de modo que sus cabezas podían verse delante del lugar santísimo, aunque no se veían desde fuera. Hasta el día de hoy, allí están.

10 T here was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, where the Lord made a covenant with the sons of Israel, when they came out of Egypt. The Glory of God Fills the Temple

En el arca sólo estaban las dos tablas que Moisés había puesto en Horeb, con las cuales el Señor hizo un pacto con los hijos de Israel cuando salieron de Egipto.

11 W hen the priests came forth from the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, without regard to divisions),

Los sacerdotes salieron del santuario. Todos los sacerdotes que allí se encontraban habían sido santificados, y no mantenían sus turnos.

12 a nd all the Levitical singers, Asaph, Heman, Jeduthun, and their sons and kinsmen, clothed in fine linen, with cymbals, harps and lyres, standing east of the altar, and with them one hundred and twenty priests blowing trumpets

Todos los levitas cantores, los de Asaf, los de Hemán y los de Jedutún, junto con sus hijos y sus parientes, estaban al oriente del altar, vestidos de lino fino y con címbalos y salterios y arpas. Con ellos estaban ciento veinte sacerdotes que tocaban trompetas.

13 i n unison when the trumpeters and the singers were to make themselves heard with one voice to praise and to glorify the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice accompanied by trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and when they praised the Lord saying, “ He indeed is good for His lovingkindness is everlasting,” then the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud,

Cuando las trompetas sonaban, todos cantaban al unísono y alababan y daban gracias al Señor. A medida que alzaban la voz con trompetas y címbalos y otros instrumentos musicales, alababan al Señor y decían: «Ciertamente, él es bueno, y su misericordia es eterna». Entonces el templo, la casa del Señor, se llenó con una nube,

14 s o that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud, for the glory of the Lord filled the house of God.

y por causa de la nube los sacerdotes no podían estar allí para ministrar, porque la gloria del Señor había llenado el templo de Dios.
