1 T herefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Jesus;

Por tanto, hermanos santos, participantes del llamamiento celestial, considerad a Jesús, el Apóstol y Sumo Sacerdote de nuestra fe.

2 w ho was faithful to him who appointed him, as also was Moses in all his house.

El cual fue fiel al que le designó, como también lo fue Moisés en toda la casa de Dios.

3 F or he has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, because he who built the house has more honor than the house.

Porque El ha sido considerado digno de más gloria que Moisés, así como el constructor de la casa tiene más honra que la casa.

4 F or every house is built by someone; but he who built all things is God.

Porque toda casa es hecha por alguno, pero el que hace todas las cosas es Dios.

5 M oses indeed was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were afterward to be spoken,

Y Moisés fue fiel en toda la casa de Dios como siervo, para testimonio de lo que se iba a decir más tarde;

6 b ut Christ is faithful as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the glorying of our hope firm to the end.

pero Cristo fue fiel como Hijo sobre la casa de Dios, cuya casa somos nosotros, si retenemos firme hasta el fin nuestra confianza y la gloria de nuestra esperanza.

7 T herefore, even as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you will hear his voice,

Por lo cual, como dice el Espíritu Santo: Si ois hoy su voz,

8 d on’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion, like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,

no endurezcais vuestros corazones, como en la provocacion, como en el dia de la prueba en el desierto,

9 w here your fathers tested me by proving me, and saw my deeds for forty years.

donde vuestros padres me tentaron al poner me a prueba, y vieron mis obras por cuarenta años.

10 T herefore I was displeased with that generation, and said, ‘They always err in their heart, but they didn’t know my ways;’

Por lo cual me disguste con aquella generacion, y dije: “siempre se desvian en su corazon, y no han conocido mis caminos ”;

11 a s I swore in my wrath, ‘They will not enter into my rest.’”

como jure en mi ira: “ No entraran en mi reposo.”

12 B eware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God;

Tened cuidado, hermanos, no sea que en alguno de vosotros haya un corazón malo de incredulidad, para apartarse del Dios vivo.

13 b ut exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today”; lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.

Antes exhortaos los unos a los otros cada día, mientras todavía se dice: Hoy; no sea que alguno de vosotros sea endurecido por el engaño del pecado.

14 F or we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm to the end:

Porque somos hechos partícipes de Cristo, si es que retenemos firme hasta el fin el principio de nuestra seguridad,

15 w hile it is said, “Today if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts, as in the rebellion.”

en cuanto se dice: Si ois hoy su voz, no endurezcais vuestros corazones, como en la provocacion.

16 F or who, when they heard, rebelled? No, didn’t all those who came out of Egypt by Moses?

Porque ¿quiénes, habiendo oído, le provocaron ? ¿Acaso no fueron todos los que salieron de Egipto guiados por Moisés?

17 W ith whom was he displeased forty years? Wasn’t it with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness?

¿Y con quiénes se disgustó por cuarenta años? ¿No fue con aquellos que pecaron, cuyos cuerpos cayeron en el desierto ?

18 T o whom did he swear that they wouldn’t enter into his rest, but to those who were disobedient?

¿Y a quiénes juró que no entrarían en su reposo, sino a los que fueron desobedientes ?

19 W e see that they were not able to enter in because of unbelief.

Vemos, pues, que no pudieron entrar a causa de su incredulidad.
