1 “ For the kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard.

¶ Porque el Reino de los cielos es semejante a un hombre, padre de familia, que salió por la mañana a contratar obreros para su viña.

2 W hen he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius for the day, he sent them into his vineyard.

Y habiéndose concertado con los obreros en un denario al día, los envió a su viña.

3 A nd he went out about the third hour and saw others standing idle in the market place;

Y saliendo cerca de la hora tercera, vio otros que estaban en la plaza ociosos;

4 a nd to those he said, ‘You also go into the vineyard, and whatever is right I will give you.’ And so they went.

Y les dijo: Id también vosotros a mi viña, y os daré lo que fuere justo. Y ellos fueron.

5 A gain he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same thing.

Salió otra vez cerca de las horas sexta y novena, e hizo lo mismo.

6 A nd about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’

Y saliendo cerca de la hora undécima, halló otros que estaban ociosos; y les dijo: ¿Por qué estáis aquí todo el día ociosos?

7 T hey said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’

Le dicen: Porque nadie nos ha contratado. Les dijo: Id también vosotros a la viña, y recibiréis lo que fuere justo.

8 “ When evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last group to the first.’

Y cuando fue la tarde del día, el señor de la viña dijo a su mayordomo: Llama a los obreros y págales el jornal, comenzando desde los postreros hasta los primeros.

9 W hen those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a denarius.

Y viniendo los que habían ido cerca de la hora undécima, recibieron cada uno un denario.

10 W hen those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius.

Y viniendo también los primeros, pensaron que habían de recibir más; pero también ellos recibieron cada uno un denario.

11 W hen they received it, they grumbled at the landowner,

Y tomándolo, murmuraban contra el padre de familia,

12 s aying, ‘These last men have worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden and the scorching heat of the day.’

Diciendo: Estos postreros sólo han trabajado una hora, y los has hecho iguales a nosotros, que hemos llevado la carga y el calor del día.

13 B ut he answered and said to one of them, ‘ Friend, I am doing you no wrong; did you not agree with me for a denarius?

Y él respondiendo, dijo a uno de ellos: Amigo, no te hago agravio; ¿no te concertaste conmigo por un denario?

14 T ake what is yours and go, but I wish to give to this last man the same as to you.

Toma lo que es tuyo, y vete; pero quiero dar a este postrero, como a ti.

15 I s it not lawful for me to do what I wish with what is my own? Or is your eye envious because I am generous?’

¿No me es lícito a mí hacer lo que quiero en mis cosas? o ¿es malo tu ojo, porque yo soy bueno?

16 S o the last shall be first, and the first last.” Death, Resurrection Foretold

Así los primeros serán postreros, y los postreros primeros; porque muchos son llamados, mas pocos escogidos.

17 A s Jesus was about to go up to Jerusalem, He took the twelve disciples aside by themselves, and on the way He said to them,

¶ Y subiendo Jesús a Jerusalén, tomó sus doce discípulos aparte en el camino, y les dijo:

18 “ Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and the Son of Man will be delivered to the chief priests and scribes, and they will condemn Him to death,

He aquí subimos a Jerusalén, y el Hijo del hombre será entregado a los príncipes de los sacerdotes y a los escribas, y le condenarán a muerte;

19 a nd will hand Him over to the Gentiles to mock and scourge and crucify Him, and on the third day He will be raised up.” Preferment Asked

y le entregarán a los gentiles para que le escarnezcan, y azoten, y cuelguen en un madero; mas al tercer día resucitará.

20 T hen the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to Jesus with her sons, bowing down and making a request of Him.

¶ Entonces se llegó a él la madre de los hijos de Zebedeo con sus hijos, adorando, y pidiéndole algo.

21 A nd He said to her, “What do you wish?” She said to Him, “Command that in Your kingdom these two sons of mine may sit one on Your right and one on Your left.”

Y él le dijo: ¿Qué quieres? Ella le dijo: Di que se sienten estos dos hijos míos, el uno a tu mano derecha, y el otro a tu izquierda, en tu Reino.

22 B ut Jesus answered, “You do not know what you are asking. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink?” They said to Him, “We are able.”

Entonces Jesús respondiendo, dijo: No sabéis lo que pedís; ¿podéis beber el vaso que yo he de beber, y ser bautizados del bautismo con que yo soy bautizado? Y ellos le dicen: Podemos.

23 H e said to them, “ My cup you shall drink; but to sit on My right and on My left, this is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father.”

Y él les dice: A la verdad mi vaso beberéis, y del bautismo con que yo soy bautizado, seréis bautizados; mas el sentaros a mi mano derecha y a mi izquierda, no es mío darlo, sino a los que está aparejado por mi Padre.

24 A nd hearing this, the ten became indignant with the two brothers.

Cuando los diez oyeron esto, se enojaron con los dos hermanos.

25 B ut Jesus called them to Himself and said, “You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great men exercise authority over them.

Entonces Jesús llamándolos, dijo: Ya sabéis que los príncipes de los gentiles se enseñorean sobre ellos, y los que son grandes ejercen sobre ellos potestad.

26 I t is not this way among you, but whoever wishes to become great among you shall be your servant,

Mas entre vosotros no será así; sino el que quisiere entre vosotros hacerse grande, será vuestro servidor;

27 a nd whoever wishes to be first among you shall be your slave;

Y el que quisiere entre vosotros ser el primero, será vuestro siervo;

28 j ust as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.” Sight for the Blind

como el Hijo del hombre no vino para ser servido, sino para servir, y para dar su vida en rescate por muchos.

29 A s they were leaving Jericho, a large crowd followed Him.

¶ Entonces saliendo ellos de Jericó, le seguía gran multitud.

30 A nd two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, cried out, “Lord, have mercy on us, Son of David!”

Y he aquí dos ciegos sentados junto al camino, cuando oyeron que Jesús pasaba, clamaron, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.

31 T he crowd sternly told them to be quiet, but they cried out all the more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”

Y la multitud les reñía para que callaran; pero ellos clamaban más, diciendo: Señor, Hijo de David, ten misericordia de nosotros.

32 A nd Jesus stopped and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”

Y parándose Jesús, los llamó, y dijo: ¿Qué queréis que haga por vosotros?

33 T hey said to Him, “Lord, we want our eyes to be opened.”

Ellos le dicen: Señor, que sean abiertos nuestros ojos.

34 M oved with compassion, Jesus touched their eyes; and immediately they regained their sight and followed Him.

Entonces Jesús, teniendo misericordia de ellos, les tocó los ojos, y luego sus ojos recibieron la vista; y le siguieron.
