1 N ow the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching.

¶ Y estaba cerca el día de la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, que se llama la Pascua.

2 T he chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might put Him to death; for they were afraid of the people.

Y los príncipes de los sacerdotes y los escribas procuraban cómo matarle; mas tenían miedo del pueblo.

3 A nd Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve.

Y entró Satanás en Judas, por sobrenombre Iscariote, el cual era uno del número de los doce;

4 A nd he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray Him to them.

y fue, y habló con los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y con los capitanes, de cómo se lo entregaría.

5 T hey were glad and agreed to give him money.

Los cuales se alegraron, y concertaron de darle dinero.

6 S o he consented, and began seeking a good opportunity to betray Him to them apart from the crowd.

Y prometió, y buscaba oportunidad para entregarle a ellos a espaldas del pueblo.

7 T hen came the first day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed.

¶ Y vino el día de los panes sin levadura, en el cual era necesario matar el cordero de la pascua.

8 A nd Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.”

Y envió a Pedro y a Juan, diciendo: Id, aparejadnos el cordero de la pascua para que comamos.

9 T hey said to Him, “Where do You want us to prepare it?”

Y ellos le dijeron: ¿Dónde quieres que aparejemos?

10 A nd He said to them, “When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters.

Y él les dijo: He aquí cuando entrareis en la ciudad, os encontrará un hombre que lleva un cántaro de agua; seguidle hasta la casa donde entrare,

11 A nd you shall say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with My disciples?”’

y decid al padre de la familia de la casa: El Maestro te dice: ¿Dónde está el aposento donde tengo de comer el cordero de la pascua con mis discípulos?

12 A nd he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there.”

Entonces él os mostrará un gran cenáculo aderezado; aparejad allí.

13 A nd they left and found everything just as He had told them; and they prepared the Passover. The Lord’s Supper

Fueron pues, y lo hallaron todo como les había dicho; y aparejaron el cordero de la pascua.

14 W hen the hour had come, He reclined at the table, and the apostles with Him.

Cuando era la hora, se sentó a la mesa, y con él los doce apóstoles.

15 A nd He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer;

Y les dijo: En gran manera he deseado comer con vosotros este cordero de la pascua antes que padezca;

16 f or I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

porque os digo que no comeré más de él, hasta que sea cumplido en el Reino de Dios.

17 A nd when He had taken a cup and given thanks, He said, “Take this and share it among yourselves;

Y tomando el vaso, habiendo dado gracias, dijo: Tomad esto, y partidlo entre vosotros;

18 f or I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.”

Porque os digo, que no beberé más del fruto de la vid, hasta que el Reino de Dios venga.

19 A nd when He had taken some bread and given thanks, He broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

Y tomando el pan, habiendo dado gracias, partió, y les dio, diciendo: Esto es mi cuerpo, que por vosotros es dado; haced esto en memoria de mí.

20 A nd in the same way He took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in My blood.

Asimismo también tomó y les dio el vaso, después que hubo cenado, diciendo: Este vaso es el Nuevo Testamento en mi sangre, que por vosotros se derrama.

21 B ut behold, the hand of the one betraying Me is with Mine on the table.

¶ Con todo eso, he aquí la mano del que me entrega, conmigo en la mesa.

22 F or indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!”

Y a la verdad el Hijo del hombre va, según lo que está determinado; pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por el cual es entregado!

23 A nd they began to discuss among themselves which one of them it might be who was going to do this thing. Who Is Greatest

Ellos entonces comenzaron a preguntar entre sí, cuál de ellos sería el que había de hacer esto.

24 A nd there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest.

Y hubo entre ellos una contienda, quién de ellos parecía que había de ser el mayor.

25 A nd He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called ‘Benefactors.’

Entonces él les dijo: Los reyes de los gentiles se enseñorean de ellos; y los que sobre ellos tienen potestad, son llamados bienhechores;

26 B ut it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant.

mas vosotros, no así; antes el que es mayor entre vosotros, sea como el más joven; y el que es príncipe, como el que sirve.

27 F or who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table ? But I am among you as the one who serves.

Porque, ¿cuál es mayor, el que se sienta a la mesa, o el que sirve? ¿No es el que se sienta a la mesa ? Y yo soy entre vosotros como el que sirve.

28 “ You are those who have stood by Me in My trials;

Pero vosotros sois los que habéis permanecido conmigo en mis tentaciones.

29 a nd just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you

Yo pues os ordeno el Reino, como mi Padre me lo ordenó a mí,

30 t hat you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

para que comáis y bebáis en mi mesa en mi Reino, y os sentéis sobre tronos juzgando a las doce tribus de Israel.

31 “ Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat;

Dijo también el Señor: Simón, Simón, he aquí que Satanás os ha pedido para zarandearos como a trigo;

32 b ut I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”

mas yo he rogado por ti que tu fe no falte; y tú, una vez convertido, confirma a tus hermanos.

33 B ut he said to Him, “Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!”

Y él le dijo: Señor, aparejado estoy a ir contigo aun a cárcel y a muerte.

34 A nd He said, “I say to you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”

Y él dijo: Pedro, te digo que el gallo no cantará hoy antes que tú niegues tres veces que me conoces.

35 A nd He said to them, “ When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you did not lack anything, did you?” They said, “ No, nothing.”

Y a ellos dijo: Cuando os envié sin bolsa, y sin alforja, y sin zapatos, ¿os faltó algo? Y ellos dijeron: Nada.

36 A nd He said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one.

Y les dijo: Pues ahora, el que tiene bolsa, tómela, y también la alforja, y el que no tiene, venda su capa y compre espada.

37 F or I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in Me, ‘ And He was numbered with transgressors ’; for that which refers to Me has its fulfillment.”

Porque os digo, que es necesario que se cumpla todavía en mí aquello que está escrito: Y con los malos fue contado; porque lo que está escrito de mí, su cumplimiento tiene.

38 T hey said, “Lord, look, here are two swords.” And He said to them, “It is enough.” The Garden of Gethsemane

Entonces ellos dijeron: Señor, aquí hay dos espadas. Y él les dijo: Basta.

39 A nd He came out and proceeded as was His custom to the Mount of Olives; and the disciples also followed Him.

¶ Y saliendo, se fue, como solía, al monte de las Olivas; y sus discípulos también le siguieron.

40 W hen He arrived at the place, He said to them, “ Pray that you may not enter into temptation.”

Cuando llegó a aquel lugar, les dijo: Orad que no entréis en tentación.

41 A nd He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to pray,

Y él se apartó de ellos como a un tiro de piedra; y puesto de rodillas oró,

42 s aying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.”

diciendo: Padre, si quieres, pasa este vaso de mí; pero no se haga mi voluntad, sino la tuya.

43 N ow an angel from heaven appeared to Him, strengthening Him.

Y le apareció un ángel del cielo confortándole.

44 A nd being in agony He was praying very fervently; and His sweat became like drops of blood, falling down upon the ground.

Y estando en agonía, oraba más intensamente; y fue su sudor como gotas de sangre que caían hasta la tierra.

45 W hen He rose from prayer, He came to the disciples and found them sleeping from sorrow,

Y cuando se levantó de la oración, y vino a sus discípulos, los halló durmiendo a causa de la tristeza;

46 a nd said to them, “Why are you sleeping? Get up and pray that you may not enter into temptation.” Jesus Betrayed by Judas

y les dijo: ¿Por qué dormís? Levantaos, y orad para que no entréis en tentación.

47 W hile He was still speaking, behold, a crowd came, and the one called Judas, one of the twelve, was preceding them; and he approached Jesus to kiss Him.

¶ Estando él aún hablando, he aquí una multitud; y el que se llamaba Judas, uno de los doce, iba delante de ellos; y llegó a Jesús para besarle.

48 B ut Jesus said to him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”

Entonces Jesús le dijo: Judas, ¿con un beso entregas al Hijo del hombre?

49 W hen those who were around Him saw what was going to happen, they said, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”

Y viendo los que estaban con él lo que había de acontecer, le dijeron: Señor, ¿heriremos a espada?

50 A nd one of them struck the slave of the high priest and cut off his right ear.

Y uno de ellos hirió al siervo del príncipe de los sacerdotes, y le quitó la oreja derecha.

51 B ut Jesus answered and said, “ Stop! No more of this.” And He touched his ear and healed him.

Entonces respondiendo Jesús, dijo: Dejad hasta aquí. Y tocando su oreja, le sanó.

52 T hen Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against Him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a robber?

Y Jesús dijo a los que habían venido a él, a los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y a los capitanes del Templo, y a los ancianos: ¿Cómo a ladrón habéis salido con espadas y con bastones?

53 W hile I was with you daily in the temple, you did not lay hands on Me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours.” Jesus’ Arrest

Habiendo estado con vosotros cada día en el Templo, no extendisteis las manos contra mí; mas ésta es vuestra hora, y la potestad de las tinieblas.

54 H aving arrested Him, they led Him away and brought Him to the house of the high priest; but Peter was following at a distance.

¶ Y prendiéndole le trajeron, y le metieron en casa del príncipe de los sacerdotes. Y Pedro le seguía de lejos.

55 A fter they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them.

Y habiendo encendido fuego en medio de la sala, y sentándose todos alrededor, se sentó también Pedro entre ellos.

56 A nd a servant-girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and looking intently at him, said, “This man was with Him too.”

Y cuando una criada le vio que estaba sentado al fuego, se fijó en él, y dijo: Y éste con él estaba.

57 B ut he denied it, saying, “Woman, I do not know Him.”

Entonces él lo negó, diciendo: Mujer, no le conozco.

58 A little later, another saw him and said, “You are one of them too!” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!”

Y un poco después, viéndole otro, dijo: Y tú de ellos eras. Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no soy.

59 A fter about an hour had passed, another man began to insist, saying, “Certainly this man also was with Him, for he is a Galilean too.”

Y como una hora pasada otro afirmaba, diciendo: Verdaderamente también éste estaba con él, porque es galileo.

60 B ut Peter said, “Man, I do not know what you are talking about.” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.

Y Pedro dijo: Hombre, no sé lo que dices. Y luego, estando él aún hablando, el gallo cantó.

61 T he Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how He had told him, “ Before a rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”

Entonces, vuelto el Señor, miró a Pedro; y Pedro se acordó de la palabra del Señor como le había dicho: Antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces.

62 A nd he went out and wept bitterly.

Y saliendo fuera Pedro, lloró amargamente.

63 N ow the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking Him and beating Him,

¶ Y los hombres que tenían a Jesús, se burlaban de él hiriéndole;

64 a nd they blindfolded Him and were asking Him, saying, “ Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?”

y cubriéndole, herían su rostro, y le preguntaban, diciendo: Profetiza quién es el que te hirió.

65 A nd they were saying many other things against Him, blaspheming. Jesus before the Sanhedrin

Y decían otras muchas cosas blasfemándole.

66 W hen it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led Him away to their council chamber, saying,

Y cuando fue de día, se juntaron los ancianos del pueblo, y los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y los escribas, y le trajeron a su concilio,

67 “ If You are the Christ, tell us.” But He said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe;

diciendo: ¿Eres tú el Cristo? Dínoslo. Y les dijo: Si os lo dijere, no creeríais;

68 a nd if I ask a question, you will not answer.

y también si os preguntare, no me responderéis, ni me soltaréis;

69 B ut from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”

mas desde ahora el Hijo del hombre se sentará a la diestra de la potencia de Dios.

70 A nd they all said, “Are You the Son of God, then?” And He said to them, “ Yes, I am.”

Y dijeron todos: ¿Luego tú eres Hijo de Dios? Y él les dijo: Vosotros lo decís que YO SOY.

71 T hen they said, “What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.”

Entonces ellos dijeron: ¿Qué más testimonio deseamos? Porque nosotros lo hemos oído de su boca.
