1 T his is the third time I am coming to you. Every fact is to be confirmed by the testimony of two or three witnesses.

¶ Esta tercera vez voy a vosotros. En la boca de dos o de tres testigos consistirá toda palabra.

2 I have previously said when present the second time, and though now absent I say in advance to those who have sinned in the past and to all the rest as well, that if I come again I will not spare anyone,

Ya he dicho antes, y ahora digo otra vez como si fuera presente por segunda vez, y ahora ausente lo escribo a los que antes pecaron, y a todos los demás, que si voy otra vez, no perdonaré;

3 s ince you are seeking for proof of the Christ who speaks in me, and who is not weak toward you, but mighty in you.

pues buscáis una prueba de Cristo que habla en mí, el cual no es flaco para con vosotros, antes es poderoso en vosotros.

4 F or indeed He was crucified because of weakness, yet He lives because of the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, yet we will live with Him because of the power of God directed toward you.

Porque aunque fue colgado en un madero por flaqueza, sin embargo vive por potencia de Dios. Por lo cual también nosotros somos flacos en él, sin embargo viviremos con él por la potencia de Dios en vosotros.

5 T est yourselves to see if you are in the faith; examine yourselves! Or do you not recognize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you—unless indeed you fail the test?

Examinaos a vosotros mismos si estáis en la fe; probaos a vosotros mismos. ¿No os conocéis a vosotros mismos, si Jesús, el Cristo, está en vosotros? Si ya no sois reprobados.

6 B ut I trust that you will realize that we ourselves do not fail the test.

Mas espero que conoceréis que nosotros no estamos reprobados.

7 N ow we pray to God that you do no wrong; not that we ourselves may appear approved, but that you may do what is right, even though we may appear unapproved.

¶ Pero oramos a Dios que ninguna cosa mala hagáis; no para que nosotros seamos hallados aprobados, sino para que vosotros hagáis lo que es bueno, aunque nosotros seamos tenidos por reprobados.

8 F or we can do nothing against the truth, but only for the truth.

Porque ninguna cosa podemos contra la verdad, sino por la verdad.

9 F or we rejoice when we ourselves are weak but you are strong; this we also pray for, that you be made complete.

Por lo cual nos gozamos que seamos nosotros flacos, y que vosotros seáis poderosos; y aun oramos por vuestra perfección.

10 F or this reason I am writing these things while absent, so that when present I need not use severity, in accordance with the authority which the Lord gave me for building up and not for tearing down.

Por tanto os escribo esto ausente, por no trataros en presencia con más dureza, conforme a la potestad que el Señor me ha dado para edificación, y no para destrucción.

11 F inally, brethren, rejoice, be made complete, be comforted, be like-minded, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.

¶ Resta, hermanos, que tengáis gozo, seáis perfectos, tengáis consolación, sintáis una misma cosa, tengáis paz; y el Dios de paz y de caridad sea con vosotros.

12 G reet one another with a holy kiss.

Saludaos los unos a los otros con beso santo.

13 A ll the saints greet you.

Todos los santos os saludan.

14 T he grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with you all.

La gracia del Señor Jesús, el Cristo, y la caridad de Dios, y la comunicación del Espíritu Santo sea con todos vosotros. Amén.
