1 “ The Levitical priests, the whole tribe of Levi, shall have no portion or inheritance with Israel; they shall eat the Lord’s offerings by fire and His portion.

¶ Los sacerdotes levitas, toda la tribu de Leví, no tendrán parte ni heredad con Israel; de las ofrendas encendidas al SEÑOR, y de la heredad de él comerán.

2 T hey shall have no inheritance among their countrymen; the Lord is their inheritance, as He promised them.

No tendrán, pues, heredad entre sus hermanos: el SEÑOR es su heredad, como él les ha dicho.

3 “ Now this shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, either an ox or a sheep, of which they shall give to the priest the shoulder and the two cheeks and the stomach.

Y éste será el derecho de los sacerdotes de parte del pueblo, de los que ofrecieren en sacrificio buey o cordero; darán al sacerdote la espalda, las quijadas, y el cuajar.

4 Y ou shall give him the first fruits of your grain, your new wine, and your oil, and the first shearing of your sheep.

Las primicias de tu grano, de tu vino, y de tu aceite, y las primicias de la lana de tus ovejas le darás;

5 F or the Lord your God has chosen him and his sons from all your tribes, to stand and serve in the name of the Lord forever.

porque le ha escogido el SEÑOR tu Dios de todas tus tribus, para que esté para ministrar al nombre del SEÑOR, él y sus hijos todos los días.

6 “ Now if a Levite comes from any of your towns throughout Israel where he resides, and comes whenever he desires to the place which the Lord chooses,

Y cuando el levita saliere de alguna de tus ciudades de todo Israel, donde hubiere peregrinado, y viniere con todo el deseo de su alma al lugar que el SEÑOR escogiere,

7 t hen he shall serve in the name of the Lord his God, like all his fellow Levites who stand there before the Lord.

ministrará al nombre del SEÑOR su Dios, como todos sus hermanos los levitas que estuvieren allí delante del SEÑOR.

8 T hey shall eat equal portions, except what they receive from the sale of their fathers’ estates. Spiritism Forbidden

Porción como la porción de los otros comerán, además de la venta de sus patrimonios.

9 “ When you enter the land which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the detestable things of those nations.

¶ Cuando hubieres entrado en la tierra que el SEÑOR tu Dios te da, no aprenderás a hacer según las abominaciones de aquellos gentiles.

10 T here shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices witchcraft, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer,

No sea hallado en tu tierra quien haga pasar a su hijo o a su hija por el fuego, ni practicante de adivinaciones, ni agorero, ni sortílego, ni hechicero,

11 o r one who casts a spell, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead.

ni fraguador de encantamientos, ni espiritista, ni mago, ni quien pregunte a los muertos.

12 F or whoever does these things is detestable to the Lord; and because of these detestable things the Lord your God will drive them out before you.

Porque es abominación al SEÑOR cualquiera que hace estas cosas, y por estas abominaciones el SEÑOR tu Dios los echó de delante de ti.

13 Y ou shall be blameless before the Lord your God.

Perfecto serás con el SEÑOR tu Dios.

14 F or those nations, which you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice witchcraft and to diviners, but as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so.

Porque estos gentiles que has de heredar, a agoreros y hechiceros oyen; pero a ti, no así te ha permitido el SEÑOR tu Dios.

15 “ The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among you, from your countrymen, you shall listen to him.

¶ Profeta de en medio de ti, de tus hermanos, como yo, te levantará el SEÑOR tu Dios; a él oiréis.

16 T his is according to all that you asked of the Lord your God in Horeb on the day of the assembly, saying, ‘Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, let me not see this great fire anymore, or I will die.’

Conforme a todas las cosas que pediste al SEÑOR tu Dios en Horeb el día de la asamblea, diciendo: No vuelva yo a oír la voz del SEÑOR mi Dios, ni vea yo más este gran fuego, para que no muera.

17 T he Lord said to me, ‘They have spoken well.

Y el SEÑOR me dijo: Han hablado bien lo que han dicho.

18 I will raise up a prophet from among their countrymen like you, and I will put My words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I command him.

Profeta les despertaré de en medio de sus hermanos, como tú; y pondré mis palabras en su boca, y él les hablará todo lo que yo le mandare.

19 I t shall come about that whoever will not listen to My words which he shall speak in My name, I Myself will require it of him.

Mas será, que cualquiera que no oyere mis palabras que él hablare en mi nombre, yo le pediré cuenta.

20 B ut the prophet who speaks a word presumptuously in My name which I have not commanded him to speak, or which he speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die.’

Pero el profeta que presumiere de hablar palabra en mi nombre, que yo no le haya mandado hablar, o que hablare en nombre de dioses ajenos, el tal profeta morirá.

21 Y ou may say in your heart, ‘How will we know the word which the Lord has not spoken?’

Y si dijeres en tu corazón: ¿Cómo conoceremos la palabra que el SEÑOR no hubiere hablado?

22 W hen a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the thing does not come about or come true, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken. The prophet has spoken it presumptuously; you shall not be afraid of him.

Cuando el profeta hablare en nombre del SEÑOR, y no fuere la tal cosa, ni viniere, es palabra que el SEÑOR no ha hablado; con soberbia la habló el tal profeta; no tengas temor de él.
