1 D arum sollen wir desto mehr wahrnehmen des Worts, das wir hören, damit wir nicht dahinfahren.

For this reason we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away from it.

2 D enn so das Wort festgeworden ist, das durch die Engel geredet ist, und eine jegliche Übertretung und jeder Ungehorsam seinen rechten Lohn empfangen hat,

For if the word spoken through angels proved unalterable, and every transgression and disobedience received a just penalty,

3 w ie wollen wir entfliehen, so wir eine solche Seligkeit nicht achten? welche, nachdem sie zuerst gepredigt ist durch den HERRN, auf uns gekommen ist durch die, so es gehört haben;

how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation? After it was at the first spoken through the Lord, it was confirmed to us by those who heard,

4 u nd Gott hat ihr Zeugnis gegeben mit Zeichen, Wundern und mancherlei Kräften und mit Austeilung des heiligen Geistes nach seinem Willen.

God also testifying with them, both by signs and wonders and by various miracles and by gifts of the Holy Spirit according to His own will. Earth Subject to Man

5 D enn er hat nicht den Engeln untergetan die zukünftige Welt, davon wir reden.

For He did not subject to angels the world to come, concerning which we are speaking.

6 E s bezeugt aber einer an einem Ort und spricht: "Was ist der Mensch, daß du sein gedenkest, und des Menschen Sohn, daß du auf ihn achtest?

But one has testified somewhere, saying, “ What is man, that You remember him ? Or the son of man, that You are concerned about him ?

7 D u hast ihn eine kleine Zeit niedriger sein lassen denn die Engel; mit Preis und Ehre hast du ihn gekrönt und hast ihn gesetzt über die Werke deiner Hände;

“ You have made him for a little while lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And have appointed him over the works of Your hands;

8 a lles hast du unter seine Füße getan." In dem, daß er ihm alles hat untergetan, hat er nichts gelassen, das ihm nicht untertan sei; jetzt aber sehen wir noch nicht, daß ihm alles untertan sei.

You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him. Jesus Briefly Humbled

9 D en aber, der eine kleine Zeit niedriger gewesen ist als die Engel, Jesum, sehen wir durchs Leiden des Todes gekrönt mit Preis und Ehre, auf daß er von Gottes Gnaden für alle den Tod schmeckte.

But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

10 D enn es ziemte dem, um deswillen alle Dinge sind und durch den alle Dinge sind, der da viel Kinder hat zur Herrlichkeit geführt, daß er den Herzog der Seligkeit durch Leiden vollkommen machte.

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.

11 S intemal sie alle von einem kommen, beide, der da heiligt und die da geheiligt werden. Darum schämt er sich auch nicht, sie Brüder zu heißen,

For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

12 u nd spricht: "Ich will verkündigen deinen Namen meinen Brüdern und mitten in der Gemeinde dir lobsingen."

saying, “ I will proclaim Your name to My brethren, In the midst of the congregation I will sing Your praise.”

13 U nd abermals: "Ich will mein Vertrauen auf ihn setzen." und abermals: "Siehe da, ich und die Kinder, welche mir Gott gegeben hat."

And again, “ I will put My trust in Him.” And again, “ Behold, I and the children whom God has given Me.”

14 N achdem nun die Kinder Fleisch und Blut haben, ist er dessen gleichermaßen teilhaftig geworden, auf daß er durch den Tod die Macht nehme dem, der des Todes Gewalt hatte, das ist dem Teufel,

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

15 u nd erlöste die, so durch Furcht des Todes im ganzen Leben Knechte sein mußten.

and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.

16 D enn er nimmt sich ja nicht der Engel an, sondern des Samens Abrahams nimmt er sich an.

For assuredly He does not give help to angels, but He gives help to the descendant of Abraham.

17 D aher mußte er in allen Dingen seinen Brüdern gleich werden, auf daß er barmherzig würde und ein treuer Hoherpriester vor Gott, zu versöhnen die Sünden des Volks.

Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

18 D enn worin er gelitten hat und versucht ist, kann er helfen denen, die versucht werden.

For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.
