1 P raise ye the Lord. Praise the Lord, O my soul.

Alleluia. Anima mia, loda l'Eterno.

2 W hile I live will I praise the Lord: I will sing praises unto my God while I have any being.

Io loderò l'Eterno finché ho vita, canterò le lodi del mio DIO per tutta la mia esistenza.

3 P ut not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

Non confidate nei principi né in alcun figlio d'uomo, che non può salvare.

4 H is breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth; in that very day his thoughts perish.

Quando il suo spirito se ne va, egli ritorna alla terra, e in quello stesso giorno i suoi progetti periscono.

5 H appy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:

Beato colui che ha il DIO di Giacobbe per suo aiuto, la cui speranza è nell'Eterno, il suo DIO,

6 w hich made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:

che ha fatto i cieli e la terra, il mare e tutto ciò che è in essi, che serba la fedeltà in eterno,

7 w hich executeth judgment for the oppressed: which giveth food to the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners:

che rende giustizia agli oppressi e dà il cibo agli affamati. L'Eterno libera i prigionieri.

8 t he Lord openeth the eyes of the blind: the Lord raiseth them that are bowed down: the Lord loveth the righteous:

L'Eterno apre gli occhi ai ciechi, l'Eterno rialza quelli che sono abbattuti, l'Eterno ama i giusti.

9 t he Lord preserveth the strangers; he relieveth the fatherless and widow: but the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.

L'Eterno protegge i forestieri, soccorre l'orfano e la vedova ma sovverte la via degli empi.

10 T he Lord shall reign for ever, even thy God, O Zion, unto all generations. Praise ye the Lord.

L'Eterno regna per sempre il tuo DIO, o Sion, per ogni età. Alleluia.
