1 B less the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,

Bendice, alma mía, al Señor. Señor, Dios mío, cuán grande eres; te has vestido de esplendor y de majestad,

2 C overing Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain.

cubriéndote de luz como con un manto, extendiendo los cielos como una cortina.

3 H e lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind;

El es el que pone las vigas de sus altos aposentos en las aguas; el que hace de las nubes su carroza; el que anda sobre las alas del viento;

4 H e makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers.

que hace de los vientos sus mensajeros, y de las llamas de fuego sus ministros.

5 H e established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever.

El estableció la tierra sobre sus cimientos, para que jamás sea sacudida.

6 Y ou covered it with the deep as with a garment; The waters were standing above the mountains.

La cubriste con el abismo como con un vestido; las aguas estaban sobre los montes.

7 A t Your rebuke they fled, At the sound of Your thunder they hurried away.

A tu reprensión huyeron; al sonido de tu trueno se precipitaron.

8 T he mountains rose; the valleys sank down To the place which You established for them.

Se levantaron los montes, se hundieron los valles, al lugar que tú estableciste para ellos.

9 Y ou set a boundary that they may not pass over, So that they will not return to cover the earth.

Pusiste un límite que no pueden cruzar, para que no vuelvan a cubrir la tierra.

10 H e sends forth springs in the valleys; They flow between the mountains;

El hace brotar manantiales en los valles, corren entre los montes;

11 T hey give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst.

dan de beber a todas las bestias del campo, los asnos monteses mitigan su sed.

12 B eside them the birds of the heavens dwell; They lift up their voices among the branches.

Junto a ellos habitan las aves de los cielos, elevan sus trinos entre las ramas.

13 H e waters the mountains from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.

El riega los montes desde sus aposentos, del fruto de sus obras se sacia la tierra.

14 H e causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the labor of man, So that he may bring forth food from the earth,

El hace brotar la hierba para el ganado, y las plantas para el servicio del hombre, para que él saque alimento de la tierra,

15 A nd wine which makes man’s heart glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And food which sustains man’s heart.

y vino que alegra el corazón del hombre, para que haga brillar con aceite su rostro, y alimento que fortalece el corazón del hombre.

16 T he trees of the Lord drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,

Los árboles del Señor se sacian, los cedros del Líbano que El plantó,

17 W here the birds build their nests, And the stork, whose home is the fir trees.

donde hacen sus nidos las aves, y la cigüeña, cuya morada está en los cipreses.

18 T he high mountains are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim.

Los montes altos son para las cabras monteses; las peñas son refugio para los tejones.

19 H e made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting.

El hizo la luna para medir las estaciones; el sol conoce el lugar de su ocaso.

20 Y ou appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the beasts of the forest prowl about.

Tú ordenas la oscuridad y se hace de noche, en ella andan todas las bestias del bosque.

21 T he young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God.

Rugen los leoncillos tras su presa, y buscan de Dios su comida.

22 W hen the sun rises they withdraw And lie down in their dens.

Al salir el sol se esconden, y se echan en sus guaridas.

23 M an goes forth to his work And to his labor until evening.

Sale el hombre a su trabajo, y a su labor hasta el atardecer.

24 O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; The earth is full of Your possessions.

¡Cuán numerosas son tus obras, oh Señor! Con sabiduría las has hecho todas; llena está la tierra de tus posesiones.

25 T here is the sea, great and broad, In which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great.

He allí el mar, grande y anchuroso, en el cual hay un hervidero innumerable de animales tanto pequeños como grandes.

26 T here the ships move along, And Leviathan, which You have formed to sport in it.

Allí surcan las naves, y el Leviatán que hiciste para jugar en él.

27 T hey all wait for You To give them their food in due season.

Todos ellos esperan en ti, para que les des su comida a su tiempo.

28 Y ou give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good.

Tú les das, ellos recogen; abres tu mano, se sacian de bienes.

29 Y ou hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their spirit, they expire And return to their dust.

Escondes tu rostro, se turban; les quitas el aliento, expiran, y vuelven al polvo.

30 Y ou send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground.

Envías tu Espíritu, son creados, y renuevas la faz de la tierra.

31 L et the glory of the Lord endure forever; Let the Lord be glad in His works;

¡Sea para siempre la gloria del Señor! ¡Alégrese el Señor en sus obras!

32 H e looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.

El mira a la tierra, y ella tiembla; toca los montes, y humean.

33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.

Al Señor cantaré mientras yo viva; cantaré alabanzas a mi Dios mientras yo exista.

34 L et my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.

Séale agradable mi meditación; yo me alegraré en el Señor.

35 L et sinners be consumed from the earth And let the wicked be no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord!

Sean consumidos de la tierra los pecadores, y los impíos dejen de ser. Bendice, alma mía, al Señor. ¡Aleluya!
