1 D oes any one of you, when he has a case against his neighbor, dare to go to law before the unrighteous and not before the saints?

2 O r do you not know that the saints will judge the world? If the world is judged by you, are you not competent to constitute the smallest law courts?

¿O no sabéis que los santos han de juzgar al mundo ? Y si el mundo es juzgado por vosotros, ¿no sois competentes para juzgar los casos más triviales ?

3 D o you not know that we will judge angels? How much more matters of this life?

¿No sabéis que hemos de juzgar a los ángeles? ¡Cuánto más asuntos de esta vida!

4 S o if you have law courts dealing with matters of this life, do you appoint them as judges who are of no account in the church?

Entonces, si tenéis tribunales que juzgan los casos de esta vida, ¿ por qué ponéis por jueces a los que nada son en la iglesia?

5 I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not among you one wise man who will be able to decide between his brethren,

Para vergüenza vuestra lo digo. ¿ Acaso no hay entre vosotros algún hombre sabio que pueda juzgar entre sus hermanos,

6 b ut brother goes to law with brother, and that before unbelievers?

sino que hermano contra hermano litiga, y esto ante incrédulos ?

7 A ctually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded?

Así que, en efecto, es ya un fallo entre vosotros el hecho de que tengáis litigios entre vosotros. ¿Por qué no sufrís mejor la injusticia? ¿Por qué no ser mejor defraudados ?

8 O n the contrary, you yourselves wrong and defraud. You do this even to your brethren.

Por el contrario, vosotros mismos cometéis injusticias y defraudáis, y esto a los hermanos.

9 O r do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals,

¿O no sabéis que los injustos no heredarán el reino de Dios ? No os dejéis engañar: ni los inmorales, ni los idólatras, ni los adúlteros, ni los afeminados, ni los homosexuales,

10 n or thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.

ni los ladrones, ni los avaros, ni los borrachos, ni los difamadores, ni los estafadores heredarán el reino de Dios.

11 S uch were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God. The Body Is the Lord’s

Y esto erais algunos de vosotros; pero fuisteis lavados, pero fuisteis santificados, pero fuisteis justificados en el nombre del Señor Jesucristo y en el Espíritu de nuestro Dios. El cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo

12 A ll things are lawful for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be mastered by anything.

Todas las cosas me son lícitas, pero no todas son de provecho. Todas las cosas me son lícitas, pero yo no me dejaré dominar por ninguna.

13 F ood is for the stomach and the stomach is for food, but God will do away with both of them. Yet the body is not for immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord is for the body.

Los alimentos son para el estómago y el estómago para los alimentos, pero Dios destruirá a los dos. Sin embargo, el cuerpo no es para la fornicación, sino para el Señor, y el Señor es para el cuerpo.

14 N ow God has not only raised the Lord, but will also raise us up through His power.

15 D o you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? May it never be!

¿No sabéis que vuestros cuerpos son miembros de Cristo ? ¿Tomaré, acaso, los miembros de Cristo y los haré miembros de una ramera? ¡De ningún modo!

16 O r do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her ? For He says, “ The two shall become one flesh.”

¿O no sabéis que el que se une a una ramera es un cuerpo con ella ? Porque El dice: Los dos vendran a ser una sola carne.

17 B ut the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Pero el que se une al Señor, es un espíritu con El.

18 F lee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body.

Huid de la fornicación. Todos los demás pecados que un hombre comete están fuera del cuerpo, pero el fornicario peca contra su propio cuerpo.

19 O r do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?

¿O no sabéis que vuestro cuerpo es templo del Espíritu Santo, que está en vosotros, el cual tenéis de Dios, y que no sois vuestros ?

20 F or you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Pues por precio habéis sido comprados; por tanto, glorificad a Dios en vuestro cuerpo y en vuestro espíritu, los cuales son de Dios.
