1 T hen the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

2 “ Tell Aaron and his sons to be careful with the holy gifts of the sons of Israel, which they dedicate to Me, so as not to profane My holy name; I am the Lord.

Di a Aarón y a sus hijos que tengan cuidado con las cosas sagradas que los hijos de Israel me consagran, para que no profanen mi santo nombre; yo soy el Señor.

3 S ay to them, ‘ If any man among all your descendants throughout your generations approaches the holy gifts which the sons of Israel dedicate to the Lord, while he has an uncleanness, that person shall be cut off from before Me; I am the Lord.

Diles: “Si alguno de entre vuestros descendientes en todas vuestras generaciones, se acerca a las cosas sagradas que los hijos de Israel consagran al Señor, estando inmundo, esa persona será cortada de mi presencia. Yo soy el Señor.

4 N o man of the descendants of Aaron, who is a leper or who has a discharge, may eat of the holy gifts until he is clean. And if one touches anything made unclean by a corpse or if a man has a seminal emission,

“Ningún varón de los descendientes de Aarón que sea leproso, o que tenga flujo, podrá comer de las cosas sagradas hasta que sea limpio. Y si alguno toca alguna cosa contaminada por un cadáver, o si un hombre tiene una emisión seminal,

5 o r if a man touches any teeming things by which he is made unclean, or any man by whom he is made unclean, whatever his uncleanness;

si alguno toca ciertos animales por los cuales se pueda contaminar, o a cualquier hombre que lo contamine, cualquiera que sea su inmundicia,

6 a person who touches any such shall be unclean until evening, and shall not eat of the holy gifts unless he has bathed his body in water.

la persona que toque a cualquiera de éstos quedará inmunda hasta el atardecer; no comerá de las cosas sagradas a menos que haya lavado su cuerpo con agua.

7 B ut when the sun sets, he will be clean, and afterward he shall eat of the holy gifts, for it is his food.

“Cuando el sol se ponga quedará limpio, y después comerá de las cosas sagradas, porque son su alimento.

8 H e shall not eat an animal which dies or is torn by beasts, becoming unclean by it; I am the Lord.

“No comerá animal que muera o sea despedazado por fieras, contaminándose por ello; yo soy el Señor.

9 T hey shall therefore keep My charge, so that they will not bear sin because of it and die thereby because they profane it; I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

“Guardarán, pues, mi ordenanza para que no se carguen de pecado por ello, y mueran porque la profanen; yo soy el Señor que los santifico.

10 ‘ No layman, however, is to eat the holy gift; a sojourner with the priest or a hired man shall not eat of the holy gift.

“Ningún extraño comerá cosa sagrada; ni huésped del sacerdote, ni jornalero comerán cosa sagrada.

11 B ut if a priest buys a slave as his property with his money, that one may eat of it, and those who are born in his house may eat of his food.

“Pero si un sacerdote compra con su dinero un esclavo como propiedad suya, éste sí puede comer de ella, y también los nacidos en su casa podrán comer de su alimento.

12 I f a priest’s daughter is married to a layman, she shall not eat of the offering of the gifts.

“Y si la hija del sacerdote se casa con un extraño, ella no comerá de la ofrenda de las cosas sagradas.

13 B ut if a priest’s daughter becomes a widow or divorced, and has no child and returns to her father’s house as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s food; but no layman shall eat of it.

“Pero si la hija del sacerdote queda viuda o se divorcia, y no tiene hijo y regresa a la casa de su padre como en su juventud, podrá comer del alimento de su padre; pero ningún extraño comerá de él.

14 B ut if a man eats a holy gift unintentionally, then he shall add to it a fifth of it and shall give the holy gift to the priest.

“Y si un hombre come inadvertidamente cosa sagrada, entonces añadirá a ella una quinta parte y restituirá la cosa sagrada al sacerdote.

15 T hey shall not profane the holy gifts of the sons of Israel which they offer to the Lord,

“ Los sacerdotes no profanarán las cosas sagradas que los hijos de Israel ofrecen al Señor,

16 a nd so cause them to bear punishment for guilt by eating their holy gifts; for I am the Lord who sanctifies them.’” Flawless Animals for Sacrifice

17 T hen the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

18 “ Speak to Aaron and to his sons and to all the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘ Any man of the house of Israel or of the aliens in Israel who presents his offering, whether it is any of their votive or any of their freewill offerings, which they present to the Lord for a burnt offering—

Habla a Aarón y a sus hijos y a todos los hijos de Israel, y diles: “Cualquier hombre de la casa de Israel o de los forasteros en Israel, que presente su ofrenda, ya sea de sus ofrendas votivas o de sus ofrendas voluntarias, las cuales presenta al Señor como holocausto,

19 f or you to be accepted— it must be a male without defect from the cattle, the sheep, or the goats.

para que os sea aceptada, ésta debe ser macho sin defecto del ganado, de los corderos o de las cabras.

20 W hatever has a defect, you shall not offer, for it will not be accepted for you.

“Lo que tenga defecto, no ofreceréis, porque no os será aceptado.

21 W hen a man offers a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord to fulfill a special vow or for a freewill offering, of the herd or of the flock, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.

“Cuando alguno ofrezca sacrificio de ofrenda de paz al Señor para cumplir un voto especial o como ofrenda voluntaria, del ganado o del rebaño, tiene que ser sin defecto para ser aceptado; no habrá imperfección en él.

22 T hose that are blind or fractured or maimed or having a running sore or eczema or scabs, you shall not offer to the Lord, nor make of them an offering by fire on the altar to the Lord.

“Los que estén ciegos, quebrados, mutilados, o con llagas purulentas, sarna o roña, no los ofreceréis al Señor, ni haréis de ellos una ofrenda encendida sobre el altar al Señor.

23 I n respect to an ox or a lamb which has an overgrown or stunted member, you may present it for a freewill offering, but for a vow it will not be accepted.

“En cuanto al buey o carnero que tenga un miembro deformado o atrofiado, podréis presentarlo como ofrenda voluntaria, pero por voto no será aceptado.

24 A lso anything with its testicles bruised or crushed or torn or cut, you shall not offer to the Lord, or sacrifice in your land,

“También cualquier animal con sus testículos magullados, aplastados, rasgados o cortados, no lo ofreceréis al Señor ni lo sacrificaréis en vuestra tierra;

25 n or shall you accept any such from the hand of a foreigner for offering as the food of your God; for their corruption is in them, they have a defect, they shall not be accepted for you.’”

tampoco aceptaréis tales animales de mano de un extranjero por ofrenda como alimento para vuestro Dios; porque su corrupción está en ellos, tienen defecto y no os serán aceptados.”

26 T hen the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Y habló el Señor a Moisés, diciendo:

27 “ When an ox or a sheep or a goat is born, it shall remain seven days with its mother, and from the eighth day on it shall be accepted as a sacrifice of an offering by fire to the Lord.

Cuando nazca un ternero, un cordero o un cabrito, quedará siete días con su madre, y desde el octavo día en adelante será aceptable como sacrificio de ofrenda encendida al Señor.

28 B ut, whether it is an ox or a sheep, you shall not kill both it and its young in one day.

Mas, ya sea vaca u oveja, no mataréis a ella y a su cría en el mismo día.

29 W hen you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.

Y cuando ofrezcáis sacrificio de acción de gracias al Señor, lo sacrificaréis para que seáis aceptados.

30 I t shall be eaten on the same day, you shall leave none of it until morning; I am the Lord.

Lo comeréis en el mismo día, no dejaréis nada de él para la mañana siguiente; yo soy el Señor.

31 S o you shall keep My commandments, and do them; I am the Lord.

Así, pues, guardaréis mis mandamientos y los cumpliréis; yo soy el Señor.

32 “ You shall not profane My holy name, but I will be sanctified among the sons of Israel; I am the Lord who sanctifies you,

No profanaréis mi santo nombre, sino que seré santificado entre los hijos de Israel; yo soy el Señor que os santifico,

33 w ho brought you out from the land of Egypt, to be your God; I am the Lord.”

que os saqué de la tierra de Egipto para ser vuestro Dios; yo soy el Señor.
