1 C iertamente es bueno Dios para con Israel, Para con los limpios de corazón.

Truly God is good to Israel, to such as are of a pure heart.

2 E n cuanto a mí, casi se deslizaron mis pies; Por poco resbalaron mis pasos.

But as for me, my feet were almost gone, my steps had well nigh slipped;

3 P orque tuve envidia de los arrogantes, Viendo la prosperidad de los impíos.

For I was envious at the arrogant, seeing the prosperity of the wicked.

4 P orque no tienen congojas por su muerte, Pues su vigor está entero.

For they have no pangs in their death, and their body is well nourished;

5 N o pasan trabajos como los otros mortales, Ni son azotados como los demás hombres.

They have not the hardships of mankind, neither are they plagued like men:

6 P or tanto, la soberbia los corona; Se cubren de vestido de violencia.

Therefore pride encompasseth them as a neck-chain, violence covereth them a garment;

7 L os ojos se les saltan de gordura; Logran con creces los antojos del corazón.

Their eyes stand out from fatness, they exceed the imaginations of their heart:

8 S e mofan y hablan con maldad de hacer violencia; Hablan con altanería.

They mock and speak wickedly of oppression, they speak loftily:

9 P onen su boca contra el cielo, Y su lengua pasea la tierra.

They set their mouth in the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.

10 P or eso Dios hará volver a su pueblo aquí, Y aguas en abundancia serán extraídas para ellos.

Therefore his people turn hither, and waters in fulness are wrung out to them.

11 Y dicen: ¿Cómo sabe Dios? ¿Y hay conocimiento en el Altísimo?

And they say, How can God know, and is there knowledge in the Most High?

12 H e aquí estos impíos, Sin ser turbados del mundo, alcanzaron riquezas.

Behold, these are the wicked, and they prosper in the world: they heap up riches.

13 V erdaderamente en vano he limpiado mi corazón, Y lavado mis manos en inocencia;

Truly have I purified my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocency:

14 P ues he sido azotado todo el día, Y castigado todas las mañanas.

For all the day have I been plagued, and chastened every morning.

15 S i dijera yo: Hablaré como ellos, He aquí, a la generación de tus hijos engañaría.

If I said, I will speak thus, behold, I should be faithless to the generation of thy children.

16 C uando pensé para saber esto, Fue duro trabajo para mí,

When I thought to be able to know this, it was a grievous task in mine eyes;

17 H asta que entrando en el santuario de Dios, Comprendí el fin de ellos.

Until I went into the sanctuaries of God; understood I their end.

18 C iertamente los has puesto en deslizaderos; En asolamientos los harás caer.

Truly thou settest them in slippery places, thou castest them down in ruins.

19 C ómo han sido asolados de repente! Perecieron, se consumieron de terrores.

How are they suddenly made desolate! they pass away, consumed with terrors.

20 C omo sueño del que despierta, Así, Señor, cuando despertares, menospreciarás su apariencia.

As a dream, when one awaketh, wilt thou, Lord, on arising despise their image.

21 S e llenó de amargura mi alma, Y en mi corazón sentía punzadas.

When my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins,

22 T an torpe era yo, que no entendía; Era como una bestia delante de ti.

Then I was brutish and knew nothing; I was a beast with thee.

23 C on todo, yo siempre estuve contigo; Me tomaste de la mano derecha.

Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden my right hand;

24 M e has guiado según tu consejo, Y después me recibirás en gloria.

Thou wilt guide me by thy counsel, and after the glory, thou wilt receive me.

25 ¿ A quién tengo yo en los cielos sino a ti? Y fuera de ti nada deseo en la tierra.

Whom have I in the heavens? and there is none upon earth I desire beside thee.

26 M i carne y mi corazón desfallecen; Mas la roca de mi corazón y mi porción es Dios para siempre.

My flesh and my heart faileth: God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.

27 P orque he aquí, los que se alejan de ti perecerán; Tú destruirás a todo aquel que de ti se aparta.

For behold, they that are far from thee shall perish; thou destroyest every one that goeth a whoring from thee.

28 P ero en cuanto a mí, el acercarme a Dios es el bien; He puesto en Jehová el Señor mi esperanza, Para contar todas tus obras.

But as for me, it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord Jehovah, that I may declare all thy works.
