1 E n aquel día Jehová castigará con su espada dura, grande y fuerte al leviatán serpiente veloz, y al leviatán serpiente tortuosa; y matará al dragón que está en el mar.

In that day Jehovah, with his sore and great and strong sword, will visit leviathan the fleeing serpent, and leviathan the crooked serpent; and he will slay the monster that is in the sea.

2 E n aquel día cantad acerca de la viña del vino rojo.

In that day a vineyard of pure wine; sing concerning it:

3 Y o Jehová la guardo, cada momento la regaré; la guardaré de noche y de día, para que nadie la dañe.

I Jehovah keep it, I will water it every moment; lest any harm it, I will keep it night and day.

4 N o hay enojo en mí. ¿Quién pondrá contra mí en batalla espinos y cardos? Yo los hollaré, los quemaré a una.

Fury is not in me. Oh that I had briars thorns in battle against me! I would march against them, I would burn them together.

5 ¿ O forzará alguien mi fortaleza? Haga conmigo paz; sí, haga paz conmigo.

Or let him take hold of my strength; let him make peace with me: let him make peace with me.

6 D ías vendrán cuando Jacob echará raíces, florecerá y echará renuevos Israel, y la faz del mundo llenará de fruto.

In the future Jacob shall take root; Israel shall blossom and bud, and they shall fill the face of the world with fruit.

7 ¿ Acaso ha sido herido como quien lo hirió, o ha sido muerto como los que lo mataron?

Hath he smitten him according to the smiting of those that smote him? Is he slain according to the slaughter of those slain by him?

8 C on medida lo castigarás en sus vástagos. El los remueve con su recio viento en el día del aire solano.

In measure, when sending her away, didst thou contend with her: he hath taken away with his rough wind in the day of the east wind.

9 D e esta manera, pues, será perdonada la iniquidad de Jacob, y este será todo el fruto, la remoción de su pecado; cuando haga todas las piedras del altar como piedras de cal desmenuzadas, y no se levanten los símbolos de Asera ni las imágenes del sol.

By this, therefore, shall the iniquity of Jacob be purged; and this is all the fruit of the taking away of his sin: when he shall make all the stones of the altar as chalkstones that are crumbled in pieces,—the Asherahs and the sun-images shall not stand.

10 P orque la ciudad fortificada será desolada, la ciudad habitada será abandonada y dejada como un desierto; allí pastará el becerro, allí tendrá su majada, y acabará sus ramas.

For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation abandoned and forsaken like a wilderness; there shall the calf feed, and there shall he lie down, and consume its boughs.

11 C uando sus ramas se sequen, serán quebradas; mujeres vendrán a encenderlas; porque aquel no es pueblo de entendimiento; por tanto, su Hacedor no tendrá de él misericordia, ni se compadecerá de él el que lo formó.

When its branches are withered they shall be broken off; women shall come set them on fire. For it is a people of no intelligence; therefore he that made them will not have mercy on them, and he who formed them will shew them no favour.

12 A contecerá en aquel día, que trillará Jehová desde el río Eufrates hasta el torrente de Egipto, y vosotros, hijos de Israel, seréis reunidos uno a uno.

And it shall come to pass in that day, that Jehovah shall beat out from the flood of the river unto the torrent of Egypt, and ye shall be gathered one by one, children of Israel.

13 A contecerá también en aquel día, que se tocará con gran trompeta, y vendrán los que habían sido esparcidos en la tierra de Asiria, y los que habían sido desterrados a Egipto, y adorarán a Jehová en el monte santo, en Jerusalén.

And it shall come to pass in that day, the great trumpet shall be blown; and they shall come that were perishing in the land of Assyria, and the outcasts in the land of Egypt, and they shall worship Jehovah in the holy mountain at Jerusalem.
