1 C oré hijo de Izhar, hijo de Coat, hijo de Leví, y Datán y Abiram hijos de Eliab, y On hijo de Pelet, de los hijos de Rubén, tomaron gente,

And Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, made bold, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, the sons of Reuben;

2 y se levantaron contra Moisés con doscientos cincuenta varones de los hijos de Israel, príncipes de la congregación, de los del consejo, varones de renombre.

and they rose up against Moses, with two hundred and fifty men of the children of Israel, princes of the assembly, summoned to the council, men of renown;

3 Y se juntaron contra Moisés y Aarón y les dijeron:!! Basta ya de vosotros! Porque toda la congregación, todos ellos son santos, y en medio de ellos está Jehová; ¿por qué, pues, os levantáis vosotros sobre la congregación de Jehová?

and they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, It is enough; for all the assembly, all of them are holy, and Jehovah is among them; and why do ye lift up yourselves above the congregation of Jehovah?

4 C uando oyó esto Moisés, se postró sobre su rostro;

When Moses heard this, he fell on his face.

5 y habló a Coré y a todo su séquito, diciendo: Mañana mostrará Jehová quién es suyo, y quién es santo, y hará que se acerque a él; al que él escogiere, él lo acercará a sí.

And he spoke to Korah and to all his band, saying, Even to-morrow will Jehovah make known who is his, and who is holy; and he will cause him to come near to him; and him whom he has chosen, him will he cause to come near to him.

6 H aced esto: tomaos incensarios, Coré y todo su séquito,

This do: take you censers, Korah, and all his band,

7 y poned fuego en ellos, y poned en ellos incienso delante de Jehová mañana; y el varón a quien Jehová escogiere, aquel será el santo; esto os baste, hijos de Leví.

and put fire therein, and lay incense thereon before Jehovah to-morrow; and it shall be that the man whom Jehovah doth choose, he shall be holy. It is enough, ye sons of Levi!

8 D ijo más Moisés a Coré: Oíd ahora, hijos de Leví:

And Moses said to Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi!

9 ¿ Os es poco que el Dios de Israel os haya apartado de la congregación de Israel, acercándoos a él para que ministréis en el servicio del tabernáculo de Jehová, y estéis delante de la congregación para ministrarles,

Is it too little for you, that the God of Israel has separated you from the assembly of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the work of the tabernacle of Jehovah, and to stand before the assembly to minister to them?

10 y que te hizo acercar a ti, y a todos tus hermanos los hijos de Leví contigo? ¿Procuráis también el sacerdocio?

—that he has brought thee near, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee; and seek ye now the priesthood also?

11 P or tanto, tú y todo tu séquito sois los que os juntáis contra Jehová; pues Aarón, ¿qué es, para que contra él murmuréis?

For which cause thou and all thy band are banded together against Jehovah; and Aaron, who is he that ye murmur against him?

12 Y envió Moisés a llamar a Datán y Abiram, hijos de Eliab; mas ellos respondieron: No iremos allá.

And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab; but they said, We will not come up!

13 ¿ Es poco que nos hayas hecho venir de una tierra que destila leche y miel, para hacernos morir en el desierto, sino que también te enseñorees de nosotros imperiosamente?

Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land flowing with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, that thou must make thyself altogether a ruler over us?

14 N i tampoco nos has metido tú en tierra que fluya leche y miel, ni nos has dado heredades de tierras y viñas. ¿Sacarás los ojos de estos hombres? No subiremos.

Moreover, thou hast not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up!

15 E ntonces Moisés se enojó en gran manera, y dijo a Jehová: No mires a su ofrenda; ni aun un asno he tomado de ellos, ni a ninguno de ellos he hecho mal.

Then Moses was very wroth, and said to Jehovah, Have no regard to their oblation: not one ass have I taken from them, neither have I hurt one of them.

16 D espués dijo Moisés a Coré: Tú y todo tu séquito, poneos mañana delante de Jehová; tú, y ellos, y Aarón;

And Moses said to Korah, Be thou and all thy band before Jehovah, thou, and they, and Aaron, to-morrow.

17 y tomad cada uno su incensario y poned incienso en ellos, y acercaos delante de Jehová cada uno con su incensario, doscientos cincuenta incensarios; tú también, y Aarón, cada uno con su incensario.

And take each his censer, and put incense thereon, and present before Jehovah every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; and thou, and Aaron, each his censer.

18 Y tomó cada uno su incensario, y pusieron en ellos fuego, y echaron en ellos incienso, y se pusieron a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión con Moisés y Aarón.

And they took each his censer, and put fire on them, and laid incense thereon, and stood before the entrance to the tent of meeting, as well as Moses and Aaron.

19 Y a Coré había hecho juntar contra ellos toda la congregación a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión; entonces la gloria de Jehová apareció a toda la congregación.

And Korah gathered the whole assembly against them to the entrance of the tent of meeting. And the glory of Jehovah appeared to all the assembly.

20 Y Jehová habló a Moisés y a Aarón, diciendo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying,

21 A partaos de entre esta congregación, y los consumiré en un momento.

Separate yourselves from the midst of this assembly, and I will consume them in a moment.

22 Y ellos se postraron sobre sus rostros, y dijeron: Dios, Dios de los espíritus de toda carne, ¿no es un solo hombre el que pecó? ¿Por qué airarte contra toda la congregación?

And they fell on their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh! shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with the whole assembly?

23 E ntonces Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

24 H abla a la congregación y diles: Apartaos de en derredor de la tienda de Coré, Datán y Abiram.

Speak unto the assembly, saying, Get you up from about the habitation of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.

25 E ntonces Moisés se levantó y fue a Datán y a Abiram, y los ancianos de Israel fueron en pos de él.

And Moses rose up and went to Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.

26 Y él habló a la congregación, diciendo: Apartaos ahora de las tiendas de estos hombres impíos, y no toquéis ninguna cosa suya, para que no perezcáis en todos sus pecados.

And he spoke to the assembly, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of theirs, lest ye perish in all their sins.

27 Y se apartaron de las tiendas de Coré, de Datán y de Abiram en derredor; y Datán y Abiram salieron y se pusieron a las puertas de sus tiendas, con sus mujeres, sus hijos y sus pequeñuelos.

And they got up from the habitation of Koran, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side. And Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the entrance of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little ones.

28 Y dijo Moisés: En esto conoceréis que Jehová me ha enviado para que hiciese todas estas cosas, y que no las hice de mi propia voluntad.

And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that Jehovah has sent me to do all these deeds, for they are not out of my own heart:

29 S i como mueren todos los hombres murieren éstos, o si ellos al ser visitados siguen la suerte de todos los hombres, Jehová no me envió.

if these men die as all men die, and are visited with the visitation of all men, Jehovah has not sent me;

30 M as si Jehová hiciere algo nuevo, y la tierra abriere su boca y los tragare con todas sus cosas, y descendieren vivos al Seol, entonces conoceréis que estos hombres irritaron a Jehová.

but if Jehovah make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, and all that they have, and they go down alive into Sheol, then ye shall know that these men have despised Jehovah.

31 Y aconteció que cuando cesó él de hablar todas estas palabras, se abrió la tierra que estaba debajo de ellos.

And it came to pass when he had ended speaking all these words, that the ground clave apart that was under them.

32 A brió la tierra su boca, y los tragó a ellos, a sus casas, a todos los hombres de Coré, y a todos sus bienes.

And the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that belonged to Korah, and all their property.

33 Y ellos, con todo lo que tenían, descendieron vivos al Seol, y los cubrió la tierra, y perecieron de en medio de la congregación.

And they went down, they and all that they had, alive into Sheol, and the earth covered them; and they perished from among the congregation.

34 Y todo Israel, los que estaban en derredor de ellos, huyeron al grito de ellos; porque decían: No nos trague también la tierra.

And all Israel that were round about them fled at their cry; for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up!

35 T ambién salió fuego de delante de Jehová, y consumió a los doscientos cincuenta hombres que ofrecían el incienso.

And there came out a fire from Jehovah, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that had presented incense.

36 E ntonces Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

37 D i a Eleazar hijo del sacerdote Aarón, que tome los incensarios de en medio del incendio, y derrame más allá el fuego; porque son santificados

Speak to Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning; and scatter the fire afar; for they are hallowed,

38 l os incensarios de estos que pecaron contra sus almas; y harán de ellos planchas batidas para cubrir el altar; por cuanto ofrecieron con ellos delante de Jehová, son santificados, y serán como señal a los hijos de Israel.

the censers of these sinners who have forfeited their life; and they shall make them into broad plates for the covering of the altar; for they presented them before Jehovah, therefore they are hallowed; and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.

39 Y el sacerdote Eleazar tomó los incensarios de bronce con que los quemados habían ofrecido; y los batieron para cubrir el altar,

And Eleazar the priest took the copper censers, which they that were burnt had presented; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:

40 e n recuerdo para los hijos de Israel, de que ningún extraño que no sea de la descendencia de Aarón se acerque para ofrecer incienso delante de Jehová, para que no sea como Coré y como su séquito; según se lo dijo Jehová por medio de Moisés.

as a memorial to the children of Israel, that no stranger who is not of the seed of Aaron come near to burn incense before Jehovah, that he be not as Korah, and as his band,—as Jehovah had said to him through Moses.

41 E l día siguiente, toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel murmuró contra Moisés y Aarón, diciendo: Vosotros habéis dado muerte al pueblo de Jehová.

And the whole assembly of the children of Israel murmured on the morrow against Moses and against Aaron, saying, Ye have killed the people of Jehovah.

42 Y aconteció que cuando se juntó la congregación contra Moisés y Aarón, miraron hacia el tabernáculo de reunión, y he aquí la nube lo había cubierto, y apareció la gloria de Jehová.

And it came to pass, when the assembly was gathered together against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tent of meeting, and behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of Jehovah appeared.

43 Y vinieron Moisés y Aarón delante del tabernáculo de reunión.

And Moses and Aaron went before the tent of meeting.

44 Y Jehová habló a Moisés, diciendo:

And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,

45 A partaos de en medio de esta congregación, y los consumiré en un momento. Y ellos se postraron sobre sus rostros.

Get you up from the midst of this assembly, and I will consume them in a moment. And they fell on their faces.

46 Y dijo Moisés a Aarón: Toma el incensario, y pon en él fuego del altar, y sobre él pon incienso, y ve pronto a la congregación, y haz expiación por ellos, porque el furor ha salido de la presencia de Jehová; la mortandad ha comenzado.

And Moses said to Aaron, Take the censer, and put fire thereon from off the altar, and lay on incense, and carry it quickly to the assembly, and make atonement for them; for there is wrath gone out from Jehovah: the plague is begun.

47 E ntonces tomó Aarón el incensario, como Moisés dijo, y corrió en medio de la congregación; y he aquí que la mortandad había comenzado en el pueblo; y él puso incienso, e hizo expiación por el pueblo,

And Aaron took as Moses had said, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and behold, the plague had begun among the people; and he put on incense, and made atonement for the people.

48 y se puso entre los muertos y los vivos; y cesó la mortandad.

And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.

49 Y los que murieron en aquella mortandad fueron catorce mil setecientos, sin los muertos por la rebelión de Coré.

Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, besides them that had died because of the matter of Korah.

50 D espués volvió Aarón a Moisés a la puerta del tabernáculo de reunión, cuando la mortandad había cesado.

And Aaron returned to Moses to the entrance of the tent of meeting; and the plague was stayed.
