1 E stos son los que vinieron ante David en Siclag, estando él aún encerrado por causa de Saúl hijo de Cis; y eran de los valientes ayudadores de la guerra.

Now these are the ones who came to David at Ziklag, while he was still restricted because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men who helped him in war.

2 E staban armados de arcos, y usaban de ambas manos en tirar piedras con honda, y saetas con arco, de los hermanos de Saúl de Benjamín.

They were equipped with bows, using both the right hand and the left to sling stones and to shoot arrows from the bow; they were Saul’s kinsmen from Benjamin.

3 E l principal era Ahiezer, después Joás, hijos de Semaa, el gabaatita; Jeziel, y Pelet, hijos de Azmavet, Beraca, y Jehú, el anatotita;

The chief was Ahiezer, then Joash, the sons of Shemaah the Gibeathite; and Jeziel and Pelet, the sons of Azmaveth, and Beracah and Jehu the Anathothite,

4 e Ismaías, el gabaonita, valiente entre los treinta, y más que los treinta; y Jeremías, Jahaziel, Johanán, Jozabad, el gederatita,

and Ishmaiah the Gibeonite, a mighty man among the thirty, and over the thirty. Then Jeremiah, Jahaziel, Johanan, Jozabad the Gederathite,

5 E luzai, Jerimot, Bealías, Semarías, Sefatías, el harufita;

Eluzai, Jerimoth, Bealiah, Shemariah, Shephatiah the Haruphite,

6 E lcana, Isías, Azareel, Joezer, y Jasobeam, de Coré;

Elkanah, Isshiah, Azarel, Joezer, Jashobeam, the Korahites,

7 y Joela, y Zebadías, hijos de Jeroham de Gedor.

and Joelah and Zebadiah, the sons of Jeroham of Gedor.

8 T ambién de los de Gad huyeron a David, estando en la fortaleza en el desierto, muy valientes hombres de guerra para pelear, puestos en orden con escudo y pavés; sus rostros como rostros de leones, y ligeros como las cabras monteses.

From the Gadites there came over to David in the stronghold in the wilderness, mighty men of valor, men trained for war, who could handle shield and spear, and whose faces were like the faces of lions, and they were as swift as the gazelles on the mountains.

9 E zer era el capitán, Obadías el segundo, Eliab el tercero,

Ezer was the first, Obadiah the second, Eliab the third,

10 M ismana el cuarto, Jeremías el quinto,

Mishmannah the fourth, Jeremiah the fifth,

11 A tai el sexto, Eliel el séptimo,

Attai the sixth, Eliel the seventh,

12 J ohanán el octavo, Elzabad el noveno,

Johanan the eighth, Elzabad the ninth,

13 J eremías el décimo, Macbanai el undécimo.

Jeremiah the tenth, Machbannai the eleventh.

14 E stos fueron capitanes del ejército de los hijos de Gad. El menor de ellos tenía a cargo cien hombres, y el mayor de mil.

These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army; he who was least was equal to a hundred and the greatest to a thousand.

15 E stos pasaron el Jordán en el mes primero, cuando se había desbordado sobre todas sus riberas; e hicieron huir a todos los de los valles al oriente y al poniente.

These are the ones who crossed the Jordan in the first month when it was overflowing all its banks and they put to flight all those in the valleys, both to the east and to the west.

16 A simismo algunos de los hijos de Benjamín y de Judá vinieron a David a la fortaleza.

Then some of the sons of Benjamin and Judah came to the stronghold to David.

17 Y David salió a ellos, y les habló diciendo: Si habéis venido a mí para paz y para ayudarme, mi corazón será unido con vosotros; mas si para engañarme en pro de mis enemigos, siendo mis manos sin violencia, véalo el Dios de nuestros padres, y demándelo.

David went out to meet them, and said to them, “If you come peacefully to me to help me, my heart shall be united with you; but if to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look on it and decide.”

18 E ntonces se envistió el espíritu en Amasai, príncipe de treinta, y dijo: Por ti, oh David, y contigo, oh hijo de Jessé. Paz, paz contigo, y paz con tus ayudadores; pues que también tu Dios te ayuda. Y David los recibió, y los puso entre los capitanes de la cuadrilla.

Then the Spirit came upon Amasai, who was the chief of the thirty, and he said, “ We are yours, O David, And with you, O son of Jesse! Peace, peace to you, And peace to him who helps you; Indeed, your God helps you!” Then David received them and made them captains of the band.

19 T ambién se pasaron a David algunos de Manasés, cuando vino con los filisteos a la batalla contra Saúl, aunque no les ayudaron; porque los cardinales de los filisteos, habido consejo, le despidieron, diciendo: Con nuestras cabezas se pasará a su señor Saúl.

From Manasseh also some defected to David when he was about to go to battle with the Philistines against Saul. But they did not help them, for the lords of the Philistines after consultation sent him away, saying, “At the cost of our heads he may defect to his master Saul.”

20 A sí que viniendo él a Siclag, se pasaron a él de los de Manasés, Adnas, Jozabad, Jediaiel, Micael, Jozabad, Eliú, y Ziletai, cabezas de millares de los de Manasés.

As he went to Ziklag there defected to him from Manasseh: Adnah, Jozabad, Jediael, Michael, Jozabad, Elihu and Zillethai, captains of thousands who belonged to Manasseh.

21 E stos ayudaron a David con una compañía; porque todos ellos eran hombres valientes, y fueron capitanes en el ejército.

They helped David against the band of raiders, for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the army.

22 P orque entonces todos los días venía ayuda a David, hasta hacerse un gran campamento, como el campamento de Dios.

For day by day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army like the army of God. Supporters Gathered at Hebron

23 Y éste es el número de las cabezas de los que estaban a punto de guerra, y vinieron a David en Hebrón, para traspasarle el reino de Saúl, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR.

Now these are the numbers of the divisions equipped for war, who came to David at Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of the Lord.

24 D e los hijos de Judá que traían escudo y lanza, seis mil ochocientos, a punto de guerra.

The sons of Judah who bore shield and spear were 6, 800, equipped for war.

25 D e los hijos de Simeón, hombres valientes de gran valor para la guerra, siete mil cien.

Of the sons of Simeon, mighty men of valor for war, 7, 100.

26 D e los hijos de Leví, cuatro mil seiscientos;

Of the sons of Levi 4, 600.

27 a simismo Joiada, príncipe de los del linaje de Aarón, y con él tres mil setecientos;

Now Jehoiada was the leader of the house of Aaron, and with him were 3, 700,

28 y Sadoc, joven valiente de valor, y de la casa de su padre veintidós príncipes.

also Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father’s house twenty-two captains.

29 D e los hijos de Benjamín hermanos de Saúl, tres mil; porque aun en aquel tiempo muchos de ellos tenían la guardia de la casa de Saúl.

Of the sons of Benjamin, Saul’s kinsmen, 3, 000; for until now the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.

30 Y de los hijos de Efraín, veinte mil ochocientos, valientes de gran valor, varones ilustres en las casas de sus padres.

Of the sons of Ephraim 20, 800, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers’ households.

31 D e la media tribu de Manasés, dieciocho mil, los cuales fueron designados por sus nombres para venir a poner a David por rey.

Of the half-tribe of Manasseh 18, 000, who were designated by name to come and make David king.

32 Y de los hijos de Isacar, doscientos príncipes, entendidos en los tiempos, y sabios de lo que Israel debía hacer, cuyo dicho seguían todos sus hermanos.

Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.

33 Y de Zabulón cincuenta mil, que salían a batalla en orden a la guerra, con toda clase de armas de guerra, dispuestos a pelear sin doblez de corazón.

Of Zebulun, there were 50, 000 who went out in the army, who could draw up in battle formation with all kinds of weapons of war and helped David with an undivided heart.

34 Y de Neftalí mil príncipes, y con ellos treinta y siete mil con escudo y lanza.

Of Naphtali there were 1, 000 captains, and with them 37, 000 with shield and spear.

35 D e los de Dan, dispuestos a pelear, veintiocho mil seiscientos.

Of the Danites who could draw up in battle formation, there were 28, 600.

36 Y de Aser, a punto de guerra y aparejados a pelear, cuarenta mil.

Of Asher there were 40, 000 who went out in the army to draw up in battle formation.

37 Y del otro lado del Jordán, de los de Rubén y de los de Gad y de la media tribu de Manasés, ciento veinte mil con toda suerte de armas de guerra.

From the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites and the Gadites and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, there were 120, 000 with all kinds of weapons of war for the battle.

38 T odos estos hombres de guerra, ordenados para guerrear, vinieron con corazón perfecto a Hebrón, para poner a David por rey sobre todo Israel; y asimismo todos los demás de Israel tenían un mismo corazón para poner a David por rey.

All these, being men of war who could draw up in battle formation, came to Hebron with a perfect heart to make David king over all Israel; and all the rest also of Israel were of one mind to make David king.

39 Y estuvieron allí con David tres días comiendo y bebiendo, porque sus hermanos habían preparado para ellos.

They were there with David three days, eating and drinking, for their kinsmen had prepared for them.

40 Y asimismo los que les eran vecinos, hasta Isacar y Zabulón y Neftalí, trajeron pan en asnos, camellos, mulos, y bueyes; comida, y harina, masas de higos, y pasas, vino, y aceite, bueyes y ovejas en abundancia, porque en Israel había alegría.

Moreover those who were near to them, even as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought food on donkeys, camels, mules and on oxen, great quantities of flour cakes, fig cakes and bunches of raisins, wine, oil, oxen and sheep. There was joy indeed in Israel.
