1 E nvió también Ezequías por todo Israel y Judá, y escribió letras a Efraín y Manasés, que vinieran a Jerusalén a la Casa del SEÑOR, para hacer la pascua al SEÑOR Dios de Israel.

Now Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the Lord at Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover to the Lord God of Israel.

2 Y el rey tomó consejo con sus príncipes, y con toda la congregación en Jerusalén, para hacer la pascua en el mes segundo:

For the king and his princes and all the assembly in Jerusalem had decided to celebrate the Passover in the second month,

3 P orque entonces no la podían hacer, por cuanto no había plenitud de sacerdotes santificados, ni el pueblo estaba junto en Jerusalén.

since they could not celebrate it at that time, because the priests had not consecrated themselves in sufficient numbers, nor had the people been gathered to Jerusalem.

4 E sto agradó al rey y a toda la multitud.

Thus the thing was right in the sight of the king and all the assembly.

5 Y determinaron hacer pasar pregón por todo Israel, desde Beerseba hasta Dan, para que vinieran a hacer la pascua al SEÑOR Dios de Israel en Jerusalén; porque en mucho tiempo no la habían hecho como está escrito.

So they established a decree to circulate a proclamation throughout all Israel from Beersheba even to Dan, that they should come to celebrate the Passover to the Lord God of Israel at Jerusalem. For they had not celebrated it in great numbers as it was prescribed.

6 F ueron, pues, correos con letras de la mano del rey y de sus príncipes por todo Israel y Judá, como el rey lo había mandado, y decían: Hijos de Israel, volveos al SEÑOR el Dios de Abraham, de Isaac, y de Israel, y él se volverá al remanente que han escapado de la mano de los reyes de Asiria.

The couriers went throughout all Israel and Judah with the letters from the hand of the king and his princes, even according to the command of the king, saying, “O sons of Israel, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, that He may return to those of you who escaped and are left from the hand of the kings of Assyria.

7 N o seáis como vuestros padres y como vuestros hermanos, que se rebelaron contra el SEÑOR Dios de sus padres, y él los entregó a desolación, como vosotros veis.

Do not be like your fathers and your brothers, who were unfaithful to the Lord God of their fathers, so that He made them a horror, as you see.

8 P or tanto no endurezcáis vuestra cerviz como vuestros padres; dad la mano al SEÑOR, y venid a su santuario, el cual él ha santificado para siempre; y servid al SEÑOR vuestro Dios, y la ira de su furor se apartará de vosotros.

Now do not stiffen your neck like your fathers, but yield to the Lord and enter His sanctuary which He has consecrated forever, and serve the Lord your God, that His burning anger may turn away from you.

9 P orque si os volviereis al SEÑOR, vuestros hermanos y vuestros hijos hallarán misericordia delante de los que los tienen cautivos, y volverán a esta tierra; porque el SEÑOR vuestro Dios es clemente y misericordioso, y no volverá de vosotros su rostro, si vosotros os volviereis a él.

For if you return to the Lord, your brothers and your sons will find compassion before those who led them captive and will return to this land. For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate, and will not turn His face away from you if you return to Him.”

10 Y así pasaban los correos de ciudad en ciudad por la tierra de Efraín y Manasés, hasta Zabulón; mas ellos se reían y burlaban de ellos.

So the couriers passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, and as far as Zebulun, but they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

11 C on todo eso, algunos varones de Aser, de Manasés, y de Zabulón, se humillaron, y vinieron a Jerusalén.

Nevertheless some men of Asher, Manasseh and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

12 E n Judá también fue la mano de Dios para darles un solo corazón para cumplir el mandato del rey y de los príncipes, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR.

The hand of God was also on Judah to give them one heart to do what the king and the princes commanded by the word of the Lord. Passover Reinstituted

13 Y se juntó en Jerusalén un pueblo grande para hacer la solemnidad de los panes sin levadura, en el mes segundo; una gran congregación.

Now many people were gathered at Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Unleavened Bread in the second month, a very large assembly.

14 Y levantándose, quitaron los altares que había en Jerusalén; quitaron también todos los altares de incienso, y los echaron en el arroyo de Cedrón.

They arose and removed the altars which were in Jerusalem; they also removed all the incense altars and cast them into the brook Kidron.

15 E ntonces sacrificaron la pascua, a los catorce del mes segundo; y los sacerdotes y los levitas se santificaron con vergüenza, y trajeron los holocaustos a la Casa del SEÑOR.

Then they slaughtered the Passover lambs on the fourteenth of the second month. And the priests and Levites were ashamed of themselves, and consecrated themselves and brought burnt offerings to the house of the Lord.

16 Y se pusieron en su orden conforme a su costumbre, conforme a la ley de Moisés varón de Dios; los sacerdotes esparcían la sangre que recibían de manos de los levitas.

They stood at their stations after their custom, according to the law of Moses the man of God; the priests sprinkled the blood which they received from the hand of the Levites.

17 P orque aún había muchos en la congregación que no estaban santificados, y por eso los levitas sacrificaban la pascua por todos los que no se habían limpiado para santificarse al SEÑOR.

For there were many in the assembly who had not consecrated themselves; therefore, the Levites were over the slaughter of the Passover lambs for everyone who was unclean, in order to consecrate them to the Lord.

18 P orque una gran multitud del pueblo de Efraín y Manasés, y de Isacar y Zabulón, no se habían purificado, y comieron la pascua no conforme a lo que está escrito. Mas Ezequías oró por ellos, diciendo: el SEÑOR, que es bueno, sea propicio a todo aquel que ha apercibido su corazón para buscar a Dios,

For a multitude of the people, even many from Ephraim and Manasseh, Issachar and Zebulun, had not purified themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise than prescribed. For Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon

everyone who prepares his heart to seek God, the Lord God of his fathers, though not according to the purification rules of the sanctuary.”

20 Y oyó el SEÑOR a Ezequías, y sanó al pueblo.

So the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people.

21 A sí hicieron los hijos de Israel, que estaban presentes en Jerusalén, la solemnidad de los panes sin levadura por siete días con gran gozo; y alababan al SEÑOR todos los días los levitas y los sacerdotes, con instrumentos de fortaleza al SEÑOR.

The sons of Israel present in Jerusalem celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread for seven days with great joy, and the Levites and the priests praised the Lord day after day with loud instruments to the Lord.

22 Y Ezequías habló al corazón de todos los levitas que tenían buen entendimiento para servir al SEÑOR. Y comieron los sacrificios de la fiesta por siete días, ofreciendo sacrificios pacíficos, y dando gracias al SEÑOR Dios de sus padres.

Then Hezekiah spoke encouragingly to all the Levites who showed good insight in the things of the Lord. So they ate for the appointed seven days, sacrificing peace offerings and giving thanks to the Lord God of their fathers.

23 Y toda la multitud determinó que celebraran otros siete días; y celebraron otros siete días con alegría.

Then the whole assembly decided to celebrate the feast another seven days, so they celebrated the seven days with joy.

24 P orque Ezequías rey de Judá había dado a la congregación mil toros y siete mil ovejas; y también los príncipes dieron a la congregación mil toros y diez mil ovejas; y muchos sacerdotes se santificaron.

For Hezekiah king of Judah had contributed to the assembly 1, 000 bulls and 7, 000 sheep, and the princes had contributed to the assembly 1, 000 bulls and 10, 000 sheep; and a large number of priests consecrated themselves.

25 Y toda la congregación de Judá se alegró, y los sacerdotes y levitas, y asimismo toda la congregación que había venido de Israel; y también los extranjeros que habían venido de la tierra de Israel, y los que habitaban en Judá.

All the assembly of Judah rejoiced, with the priests and the Levites and all the assembly that came from Israel, both the sojourners who came from the land of Israel and those living in Judah.

26 Y se hicieron grandes alegrías en Jerusalén; porque desde el tiempo de Salomón hijo de David rey de Israel, no hubo tal cosa en Jerusalén.

So there was great joy in Jerusalem, because there was nothing like this in Jerusalem since the days of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel.

27 Y levantándose los sacerdotes levitas, bendijeron al pueblo; y la voz de ellos fue oída, y su oración llegó a la habitación de su santuario, al cielo.

Then the Levitical priests arose and blessed the people; and their voice was heard and their prayer came to His holy dwelling place, to heaven.
