1 O íd esta palabra, vacas de Basán, que estáis en el monte de Samaria, que oprimís a los pobres, que quebrantáis a los menesterosos, que decís a sus señores: Traed, y beberemos.

Hear this word, you cows of Bashan who are on the mountain of Samaria, Who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, Who say to your husbands, “Bring now, that we may drink!”

2 E l Señor DIOS juró por su Santidad: He aquí, vienen días sobre vosotros en que os llevará con anzuelos, y a vuestros descendientes en barquillos de pescador.

The Lord God has sworn by His holiness, “Behold, the days are coming upon you When they will take you away with meat hooks, And the last of you with fish hooks.

3 Y saldrán por los portillos la una en pos de la otra, y seréis echadas del palacio, dice el SEÑOR.

“You will go out through breaches in the walls, Each one straight before her, And you will be cast to Harmon,” declares the Lord.

4 I d a Bet-el, y prevaricad; en Gilgal aumentad la rebelión, y traed de mañana vuestros sacrificios, y vuestros diezmos cada tres años;

“Enter Bethel and transgress; In Gilgal multiply transgression! Bring your sacrifices every morning, Your tithes every three days.

5 y ofreced sacrificio de alabanza con leudo, y pregonad, publicad voluntarias ofrendas; pues que así lo queréis, hijos de Israel, dijo el Señor DIOS.

“ Offer a thank offering also from that which is leavened, And proclaim freewill offerings, make them known. For so you love to do, you sons of Israel,” Declares the Lord God.

6 Y o también os di limpieza de dientes en todas vuestras ciudades, y falta de pan en todos vuestros pueblos; mas no os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.

“But I gave you also cleanness of teeth in all your cities And lack of bread in all your places, Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.

7 Y también yo os detuve la lluvia tres meses antes de la siega; e hice llover sobre una ciudad, y sobre otra ciudad no hice llover; sobre una parte llovió; y la parte sobre la cual no llovió, se secó.

“Furthermore, I withheld the rain from you While there were still three months until harvest. Then I would send rain on one city And on another city I would not send rain; One part would be rained on, While the part not rained on would dry up.

8 Y venían dos o tres ciudades a una ciudad para beber agua, y no se saciaban; con todo, no os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.

“So two or three cities would stagger to another city to drink water, But would not be satisfied; Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.

9 O s herí con viento solano y oruga; vuestros muchos huertos y vuestras viñas, y vuestros higuerales y vuestros olivares comió la langosta; pero nunca os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.

“I smote you with scorching wind and mildew; And the caterpillar was devouring Your many gardens and vineyards, fig trees and olive trees; Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.

10 E nvié entre vosotros mortandad en el camino a Egipto; maté a espada a vuestros jóvenes, quité vuestros caballos; e hice subir el hedor de vuestros reales hasta vuestras narices; y nunca os tornasteis a mí, dijo el SEÑOR.

“I sent a plague among you after the manner of Egypt; I slew your young men by the sword along with your captured horses, And I made the stench of your camp rise up in your nostrils; Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.

11 O s trastorné, como cuando Dios trastornó a Sodoma y a Gomorra, y fuisteis como tizón escapado del fuego; y nunca os tornasteis a mí, dice el SEÑOR.

“I overthrew you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, And you were like a firebrand snatched from a blaze; Yet you have not returned to Me,” declares the Lord.

12 P or tanto, de esta manera haré a ti, oh Israel; y porque te he de hacer esto, aparéjate para venir al encuentro de tu Dios, oh Israel.

“Therefore thus I will do to you, O Israel; Because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God, O Israel.”

13 P orque he aquí, el que forma los montes, y crea el viento, y denuncia al hombre su pensamiento; el que hace a las tinieblas mañana, y pasa sobre las alturas de la tierra; el SEÑOR, Dios de los ejércitos, es su Nombre.

For behold, He who forms mountains and creates the wind And declares to man what are His thoughts, He who makes dawn into darkness And treads on the high places of the earth, The Lord God of hosts is His name.
