1 D irigió David a Jehová las palabras de este cántico el día que Jehová lo libró de manos de Saúl y de todos sus enemigos.

¶ And David spoke the words of this song unto the LORD in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies and out of the hand of Saul.

2 D ijo: «Jehová es mi roca, mi fortaleza y mi libertador;

¶ And he said, The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer.

3 M i Dios, fortaleza mía, en él confiaré; mi escudo y el fuerte de mi salvación, mi alto refugio, mi salvador. De violencia me libraste.

God is my Strong One; in him will I trust: he is my shield and the horn of my saving health; my defence and my refuge; my saviour, who shall save me from violence.

4 I nvocaré a Jehová, quien es digno de ser alabado, y seré salvo de mis enemigos.

I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies.

5 » Me envolvieron las olas de la muerte, me atemorizaron torrentes de perversidad.

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of Belial made me afraid;

6 M e rodearon los lazos del seol. Tendieron sobre mí lazos de muerte.

when the cords of Sheol compassed me about; the snares of death came before me;

7 E n mi angustia invoqué a Jehová, a mi Dios clamé y escuchó mi voz desde su templo. Mi clamor llegó a sus oídos.

in my distress I called upon the LORD and cried to my God, who heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry entered into his ears.

8 » La tierra fue sacudida y tembló, se conmovieron los cimientos de los cielos. Se estremecieron porque él se indignó.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of the heavens were moved and shook because he was wroth.

9 H umo subió de su nariz, y de su boca un fuego abrasador que lanzaba carbones encendidos.

Smoke went up from his nostrils, and fire devoured out of his mouth; coals were kindled by it.

10 I nclinó los cielos y descendió; había tinieblas debajo de sus pies.

And he lowered the heavens and came down, and darkness was under his feet.

11 C abalgó sobre un querubín y voló; voló sobre las alas del viento.

And he rode upon a cherub and flew; and he appeared upon the wings of the wind.

12 S e envolvió en un cerco de tinieblas, oscuridad de aguas y densas nubes.

He placed darkness like tabernacles round about him, dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

13 P or el resplandor de su presencia se encendieron carbones ardientes.

From the brightness of his presence, coals of fire were kindled.

14 » Tronó Jehová desde los cielos, el Altísimo hizo oír su voz;

The LORD thundered from the heavens, and the most High uttered his voice;

15 E nvió sus flechas y los dispersó, lanzó relámpagos y los destruyó.

he sent out arrows and scattered them; he sent forth lightning, and consumed them.

16 A parecieron entonces los torrentes de las aguas, quedaron al descubierto los cimientos del mundo ante la reprensión de Jehová, al soplo del aliento de su nariz.

Then the springs of the sea appeared and the foundations of the world were uncovered, at the rebuking of the LORD, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 » Envió desde lo alto y me tomó. Me sacó de caudalosas aguas.

He extended his hand from above, he took me; he drew me out of the impetuous waters;

18 M e libró de un poderoso enemigo, y de los que me aborrecían, aunque eran más fuertes que yo.

he delivered me from strong enemies, from those that hated me, who were stronger than I.

19 M e asaltaron el día de mi desgracia, mas Jehová fue mi apoyo.

They came upon me unawares in the day of my calamity, but the LORD was my stay.

20 M e sacó a lugar espacioso, me libró porque me amaba.

He brought me forth into a large place; he delivered me, because he had put his will in me.

21 » Jehová me recompensa conforme a mi justicia. Conforme a la limpieza de mis manos me ha premiado:

The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he has recompensed me.

22 p orque he guardado los caminos de Jehová, y no me aparté de mi Dios haciendo el mal;

For I have kept the ways of the LORD and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 p ues todos sus decretos están delante de mí y nunca me aparté de sus preceptos.

For I have all his ordinances before me and am attentive to his statutes; I will not depart from them.

24 F ui recto para con él, y me he guardado de mi maldad.

And I was perfect before him and have kept myself from my iniquity.

25 J ehová me recompensa conforme a mi justicia, conforme a la limpieza de mis manos ante sus ojos.

Therefore, the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to my cleanness before his eyes.

26 » Con el misericordioso te mostrarás misericordioso, y recto para con el hombre íntegro.

With the merciful thou art good, and with the perfect thou art upright.

27 L impio te mostrarás con el limpio, y rígido serás con el perverso.

With the pure thou art pure, and with the perverse thou art an adversary.

28 T ú salvas al pueblo afligido, mas tus ojos abaten a los altivos.

Thou wilt save the poor in spirit; but thine eyes are upon the haughty that thou may bring them down.

29 T ú eres, oh Jehová, mi lámpara; mi Dios, que alumbra mis tinieblas.

For thou art my lamp, O LORD, and the LORD gives light unto my darkness.

30 C ontigo desbarataré ejércitos, con mi Dios asaltaré muros.

For in thee I have run through a troop; with my God I have gone over the walls.

31 » El camino de Dios es perfecto y acrisolada la palabra de Jehová. Escudo es a todos los que en él esperan.

As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is purified; he is a shield to all those that trust in him.

32 P orque ¿quién es Dios, sino sólo Jehová? ¿Y qué roca hay fuera de nuestro Dios?

For what God is there except the LORD? Or who is a Strong One, except our God?

33 D ios es el que me ciñe de fuerza, quien despeja mi camino,

God is he who strengthens me with virtue; he who clears my way;

34 q uien hace mis pies como de ciervas y me sostiene firme en las alturas;

he who makes my feet like hinds’ feet, and he who sets me upon my high places;

35 e l que adiestra mis manos para la batalla, y mis brazos para que se doble el arco de bronce.

he who trains my hands for war and causes my arms to break the bow of bronze.

36 M e diste el escudo de tu salvación, y tu benignidad me ha engrandecido.

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy saving health, and thy meekness has multiplied me.

37 E nsanchaste mis pasos debajo de mí, y mis pies no han resbalado.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me so that my knees did not shake.

38 » Perseguiré a mis enemigos y los destruiré, no vuelvo hasta haberlos acabado.

I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them and did not return until I had consumed them.

39 L os heriré y derrotaré, de modo que no se levanten. Caerán debajo de mis pies.

And I consumed them and wounded them, and they did not arise; they are fallen under my feet.

40 M e ceñiste de fuerzas para la pelea, has humillado debajo de mí a mis enemigos,

For thou hast girded me with strength for the battle; thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.

41 y has hecho que mis enemigos me vuelvan las espaldas, para que yo destruyera a los que me aborrecen.

Thou hast given me the necks of my enemies, of those that hate me, that I might cut them off.

42 C lamaron, pero nadie los salvó; también a Jehová, mas no los oyó.

They looked, but there was no one to save them; even unto the LORD, but he did not answer them.

43 C omo a polvo de la tierra los molí, como a lodo de las calles los pisé y los trituré.

Then I beat them as small as the dust of the earth; I stamped them as the mire of the street and spread them abroad.

44 M e has librado de las contiendas del pueblo, me guardaste para que fuera cabeza de naciones, pueblo que no conocía me servirá.

Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of peoples; thou hast kept me to be head of the Gentiles; peoples whom I did not know have served me.

45 L os hijos de extraños se someterán a mí. Al oír de mí, me obedecerán.

The strangers trembled before my command; as soon as they heard, they obeyed me.

46 L os extraños se debilitarán y saldrán temblando de sus refugios.

The strangers withered away and trembled in their close places.

47 » ¡Viva Jehová! ¡Bendita sea mi roca!, y engrandecido sea el Dios de mi salvación.

The LORD lives, and blessed be my rock, and exalted be the God who is the rock of my salvation.

48 E l Dios que venga mis agravios y somete pueblos a mis plantas.

The God who has given me revenge and who subjects the peoples under me,

49 E l que me libera de enemigos, me exalta sobre los que se levantan contra mí y me libra del hombre violento.

who brings me forth from among my enemies; thou hast lifted me up on high from among those that rose up against me; thou hast delivered me from the man of violence.

50 P or eso te confesaré entre las naciones y cantaré, oh Jehová, a tu nombre.

Therefore, I will confess thee among the Gentiles, O LORD, and I will sing unto thy name.

51 É l salva gloriosamente a su rey, y usa de misericordia para siempre con su ungido David y con su descendencia.»

He who makes great the saving health of his king and shows mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for ever.
