1 H uye el malvado sin que nadie lo persiga, pero el justo está confiado como un león.
¶ The wicked flee when no man pursues, but the righteous are bold as a young lion.
2 P or la rebelión del país, sus gobernantes son muchos; pero por el hombre inteligente y sabio permanece estable.
¶ By the rebellion of the land, many are its princes, but by the man of understanding and wisdom the land shall remain stable.
3 E l hombre pobre que roba a los pobres es como una lluvia torrencial que deja sin pan.
¶ A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaves no food.
4 L os que se apartan de la Ley alaban a los malvados, pero los que la guardan contienden con ellos.
¶ Those that forsake the law praise the wicked, but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 L os hombres malos no comprenden lo que es recto, pero los que buscan a Jehová comprenden todas las cosas.
¶ Evil men do not understand judgment, but those that seek the LORD understand all things.
6 M ejor es el pobre que camina en su integridad que el rico y de perversos caminos.
¶ Better is the poor that walks in his perfection than he that is perverse in his ways, though he is rich.
7 E l que guarda la Ley es hijo prudente, pero el que se hace compañero de glotones avergüenza a su padre.
¶ Whosoever keeps the law is a wise son, but he that is a companion of gluttons shames his father.
8 E l que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y crecidos intereses, para aquel que se compadece de los pobres las aumenta.
¶ He that by usury and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
9 I ncluso la oración le es abominable al que aparta su oído para no escuchar la Ley.
¶ He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
10 E l que hace errar a los rectos por el mal camino caerá en su propia fosa, pero los perfectos heredarán el bien.
¶ Whosoever causes the upright to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit, but the perfect shall inherit every good thing.
11 E l hombre rico es sabio en su propia opinión, mas el pobre e inteligente lo escudriña.
¶ The rich man is wise in his own conceit, but the poor that has understanding is wiser than he.
12 C uando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; cuando los malvados se levantan, los hombres tienen que esconderse.
¶ When the righteous rejoice, there is great glory, but when the wicked rise, the sane man hides himself.
13 E l que oculta sus pecados no prosperará, pero el que los confiesa y se aparta de ellos alcanzará misericordia.
¶ He that covers his sins shall not prosper, but whosoever confesses and forsakes them shall attain mercy.
14 B ienaventurado el hombre que siempre teme a Dios, pero el que endurece su corazón caerá en el mal.
¶ Blessed is the man that fears God always, but he that hardens his heart shall fall into evil.
15 L eón rugiente y oso hambriento es el malvado que gobierna sobre el pueblo pobre.
¶ As a roaring lion and a hungry bear, so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
16 E l gobernante falto de entendimiento multiplicará la extorsión, pero se prolongarán los días del que aborrece la avaricia.
¶ The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor, but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.
17 E l hombre cargado con la sangre de otro huirá hasta el sepulcro sin que nadie le detenga.
¶ A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee all the way to the grave, and no one shall sustain him.
18 E l que en integridad camina será salvo, pero el de perversos caminos caerá en alguno de ellos.
¶ Whosoever walks in integrity shall be saved, but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall into one of them.
19 E l que cultiva su tierra se saciará de pan, pero el que sigue a los ociosos se colmará de pobreza.
¶ He that tills his land shall be filled with bread, but he that follows after vain persons shall be filled with poverty.
20 E l hombre fiel recibirá muchas bendiciones, pero el que quiere enriquecerse de prisa no estará libre de culpa.
¶ The man of truth shall abound with blessings, but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be absolved.
21 H acer distinción de personas no es bueno; ¡hasta por un bocado de pan prevaricará el hombre!
¶ To have respect of persons in judgment is not good; even for a piece of bread, man will transgress.
22 E l avaro se apresura a enriquecerse, sin saber que caerá en la indigencia.
¶ He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye and does not consider that poverty shall come upon him.
23 E l que reprende a otro hallará después mayor gracia que el que lisonjea con la lengua.
¶ He that rebukes a man, afterwards shall find more favour than he that flatters with the tongue.
24 E l que roba a su padre o a su madre y dice: «Esto no es malo», se hace compañero del criminal.
¶ Whosoever robs his father or his mother and says, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of the destroyer.
25 E l de ánimo altanero suscita contiendas, pero el que confía en Jehová prosperará.
¶ He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
26 E l que confía en su propio corazón es un necio, pero el que camina con sabiduría será librado.
¶ He that trusts in his own heart is a fool, but whosoever walks in wisdom, he shall be saved.
27 E l que da al pobre no tendrá pobreza, pero el que aparta de él sus ojos tendrá muchas maldiciones.
¶ He that gives unto the poor shall never lack, but he that hides his eyes from the poor shall have many a curse.
28 C uando los malvados se levantan, se esconde el hombre; cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.
¶ When the wicked rise, sane men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous multiply.
