1 N o podía ya José contenerse delante de todos los que estaban a su lado, y clamó: «¡Haced salir de mi presencia a todos!» Así no quedó nadie con él cuando José se dio a conocer a sus hermanos.

¶ Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all those that stood by him, and he cried, Cause everyone to go out from me. And no one stood with him while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren.

2 E ntonces se echó a llorar a gritos; lo oyeron los egipcios, y lo oyó también la casa del faraón.

And he wept aloud; and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard.

3 Y dijo José a sus hermanos: —Yo soy José. ¿Vive aún mi padre? Sus hermanos no pudieron responderle, porque estaban turbados delante de él.

And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; does my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him, for they were terrified at his presence.

4 P ero José les dijo: —Acercaos ahora a mí. Ellos se acercaron, y él les dijo: —Yo soy José, vuestro hermano, el que vendisteis a los egipcios.

Then Joseph said unto his brethren, Now come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt.

5 A hora, pues, no os entristezcáis ni os pese haberme vendido acá, porque para salvar vidas me envió Dios delante de vosotros.

Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves that ye sold me here, for God sent me before you for life.

6 P ues ya ha habido dos años de hambre en medio de la tierra, y aún quedan cinco años en los cuales no habrá arada ni siega.

For these two years the famine has been in the land, and yet there are five years in which there shall neither be plowing nor harvest.

7 D ios me envió delante de vosotros para que podáis sobrevivir sobre la tierra, para daros vida por medio de una gran liberación.

And God sent me before you that you might remain in the earth and that you might be given life by great liberty.

8 A sí, pues, no me enviasteis acá vosotros, sino Dios, que me ha puesto por padre del faraón, por señor de toda su casa y por gobernador en toda la tierra de Egipto.

So now it was not you that sent me here, but God; and he has made me as a father to Pharaoh and lord of all his house and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

9 D aos prisa, id a mi padre y decidle: “Así dice tu hijo José: Dios me ha puesto por señor de todo Egipto; ven a mí, no te detengas.

Make haste and go up to my father and say unto him: Thus saith thy son Joseph, God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down unto me, tarry not.

10 H abitarás en la tierra de Gosén, y estarás cerca de mí, tú, tus hijos y los hijos de tus hijos, tus ganados y tus vacas, y todo lo que tienes.

And thou shalt dwell in the land of Goshen, and thou shalt be near unto me, thou and thy sons and thy sons’ sons and thy herds and thy cows and all that thou hast.

11 A llí te alimentaré, pues aún quedan cinco años de hambre, para que no perezcas de pobreza tú, tu casa y todo lo que tienes.”

And there I will nourish thee, for yet there are five years of famine, lest thou and thy household and all that thou hast perish of poverty.

12 V uestros ojos ven, y también los ojos de mi hermano Benjamín, que mi boca os habla.

And, behold, your eyes see and the eyes of my brother Benjamin that it is my mouth that speaks unto you.

13 H aréis, pues, saber a mi padre toda mi gloria en Egipto, y todo lo que habéis visto. ¡Daos prisa, y traed a mi padre acá!

And ye shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt and of all that ye have seen; and ye shall haste and bring down my father here.

14 J osé se echó sobre el cuello de su hermano Benjamín y lloró; también Benjamín lloró sobre su cuello.

And he fell upon his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept upon his neck.

15 L uego besó a todos sus hermanos y lloró sobre ellos. Después de esto, sus hermanos hablaron con él.

Moreover he kissed all his brethren and wept upon them, and after that his brethren talked with him.

16 S e oyó la noticia en la casa del faraón, y se decía: «Los hermanos de José han venido.» Esto agradó a los ojos del faraón y de sus siervos.

¶ And the fame of this was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying, Joseph’s brethren have come; and it pleased Pharaoh well, and his slaves.

17 Y dijo el faraón a José: —Di a tus hermanos: “Haced esto: cargad vuestras bestias y marchaos; volved a la tierra de Canaán,

And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Say unto thy brethren, Do this: lade your beasts and go, return unto the land of Canaan

18 t omad a vuestro padre y a vuestras familias y venid a mí, porque yo os daré lo bueno de la tierra de Egipto y comeréis de la abundancia de la tierra.”

and take your father and your households and come unto me; and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and ye shall eat the fat of the land.

19 Y tú manda: “Haced esto: tomaos de la tierra de Egipto carros para vuestros niños y vuestras mujeres, tomad a vuestro padre y venid.

Now thou art commanded, do this: take wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones and for your wives and bring your father and come.

20 Y no os preocupéis por vuestros enseres, porque la riqueza de la tierra de Egipto será vuestra.”

Also regard not your stuff, for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.

21 A sí lo hicieron los hijos de Israel; y José les dio carros conforme a la orden del faraón y les suministró víveres para el camino.

And the sons of Israel did so, and Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provisions for the way.

22 A cada uno de ellos le dio un vestido nuevo, y a Benjamín le dio trescientas piezas de plata y cinco vestidos nuevos.

To each one of them all he gave changes of clothing; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing.

23 A su padre le envió esto: diez asnos cargados de lo mejor de Egipto y diez asnas cargadas de trigo, pan y comida; esto para el viaje de su padre.

And to his father he sent after this manner: ten asses laden with the best of Egypt and ten she asses laden with wheat and bread and food for his father on the way.

24 L uego despidió a sus hermanos, y cuando se iban, les dijo: —No riñáis por el camino.

So he sent his brethren away, and they departed. And he said unto them, See that ye do not fight along the way.

25 S ubieron, pues, de Egipto, y llegaron a la tierra de Canaán, junto a su padre Jacob.

¶ And they went up out of Egypt and came into the land of Canaan unto Jacob, their father,

26 Y le dieron las nuevas, diciendo: «¡José aún vive, y es señor en toda la tierra de Egipto!» Pero el corazón de Jacob desfalleció porque no les creía.

and told him, saying, Joseph is yet alive, and he is lord over all the land of Egypt. And his heart fainted, for he did not believe them.

27 E ntonces ellos le repitieron todas las palabras que José les había hablado; y viendo Jacob los carros que José enviaba para llevarlo, su espíritu revivió.

And they told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said unto them; and when he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived:

28 Y dijo Israel: —¡Con esto me basta! ¡José, mi hijo, vive todavía! Iré y lo veré antes de morir.

Then Israel said, It is enough; Joseph my son is yet alive; I will go and see him before I die.
