1 P rofecía sobre el desierto del mar: Como un torbellino del Neguev, así viene del desierto, de la tierra horrenda.

¶ The burden of the desert of the sea. As the whirlwinds which pass through the wilderness in the land of the south, so they come from the terrible land.

2 D ura visión me ha sido mostrada: El traidor traiciona y el destructor destruye. Sube, Elam; sitia, Media. Todo su gemido hice cesar.

A grievous vision is shown unto me. For one who is treacherous, another who deals treacherously, and for one destroyer, another destroyer. Rise up, Elam; besiege Media; all the sighing thereof I have made to cease.

3 P or tanto, mis espaldas se han llenado de dolor; angustias se apoderaron de mí, como angustias de mujer de parto. Me siento agobiado al oírlo y al verlo me lleno de espanto.

Therefore my loins are filled with pain; pangs have taken hold upon me as the pangs of a woman that travails; I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it.

4 S e pasma mi corazón, el horror me ha intimidado; la noche de mi deseo se me ha vuelto en espanto.

My heart panted; the horror frightened me; the night of my pleasure he has turned into fear unto me.

5 P onen la mesa, extienden tapices; comen, beben. ¡Levantaos, príncipes, engrasad el escudo!

Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink; arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield.

6 P orque el Señor me dijo así: «Ve, pon centinela que haga saber lo que vea.»

For thus has the Lord said unto me, Go, set a watchman who shall declare what he sees.

7 Y vio hombres montados, jinetes de dos en dos, montados sobre asnos, montados sobre camellos. Miró entonces más atentamente,

And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; then he looked with more diligence;

8 y gritó como un león: «¡Señor, sobre la atalaya estoy yo continuamente de día, y las noches enteras sobre mi guardia!

and he cried, A lion upon the watchman. My lord, I stand continually all the day and all night long upon my watchtower.

9 ¡ He aquí que vienen hombres montados, jinetes de dos en dos!» Después habló y dijo: «¡Cayó, cayó Babilonia, y los ídolos de sus dioses quebrantó en tierra!»

And, behold, this chariot of men comes with a couple of horsemen. Afterwards he spoke and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he has broken unto the ground.

10 P ueblo mío, trillado y aventado, os he dicho lo que oí de parte de Jehová de los ejércitos, el Dios de Israel. Profecía sobre Duma

O my harvest, and the people of my threshing floor, that which I have heard of the LORD of the hosts, the God of Israel, I have declared unto you.

11 P rofecía sobre Duma: Me dan voces de Seir: «Guarda, ¿qué de la noche? Guarda, ¿qué de la noche?»

¶ The burden of Dumah. He calls to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of this night? Watchman, what of this night?

12 E l guarda respondió: «La mañana viene y después la noche: preguntad, si queréis preguntar. Volved a venir». Profecía contra Arabia

The watchman said, The morning comes and then the night; if ye will enquire, enquire ye; return, and come.

13 P rofecía sobre Arabia: Entre las malezas de Arabia pasaréis la noche, caminantes de Dedán.

¶ The burden upon Arabia. In the forest ye shall pass the night in Arabia, O ye walkers of Dedanim.

14 S alid a encontrar al sediento; llevadle agua, moradores de tierra de Tema, socorred con pan al que huye.

Go ye out to meet them bringing water for the thirsty, O inhabitants of the land of Tema; succour those who are fleeing with your bread.

15 P orque ante la espada huye, ante la espada desnuda, ante el arco entesado, ante la violencia de la batalla.

For they flee from the presence of the sword, from the presence of the drawn sword, from the presence of the bent bow, from the presence of the grievousness of the battle.

16 P orque así me ha dicho Jehová: «De aquí a un año, semejante a los años de un jornalero, toda la gloria de Cedar será deshecha,

For thus has the Lord said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, all the glory of Kedar shall be undone:

17 y los sobrevivientes del número de los valientes flecheros, hijos de Cedar, serán reducidos; porque Jehová, Dios de Israel, lo ha dicho.»

And the residue of the number of valiant archers, sons of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel has spoken it.
