1 S ed imitadores míos, así como yo lo soy de Cristo. Atavío de las mujeres

¶ Be ye imitators of me, even as I also am of Christ.

2 O s alabo, hermanos, porque en todo os acordáis de mí y retenéis las instrucciones tal como os las entregué.

Now I praise you, brothers, that ye remember me in all things and retain my instructions the same as I spoke unto you.

3 P ero quiero que sepáis que Cristo es la cabeza de todo varón, y el varón es la cabeza de la mujer, y Dios es la cabeza de Cristo.

But I would have you know that the head of every man is the Christ, and the head of the woman is the man, and the head of Christ is God.

4 T odo varón que ora o profetiza con la cabeza cubierta, deshonra su cabeza.

Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonours his head.

5 P ero toda mujer que ora o profetiza con la cabeza descubierta, deshonra su cabeza, porque es lo mismo que si se hubiera rapado.

But every woman that prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonours her head, for that is even the same as if she were shaven.

6 S i la mujer no se cubre, que se corte también el cabello; y si le es vergonzoso a la mujer cortarse el cabello o raparse, que se cubra.

For if the woman is not covered, let her also be shorn; but if it is a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven, let her be covered.

7 E l varón no debe cubrirse la cabeza, pues él es imagen y gloria de Dios; pero la mujer es gloria del varón,

For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, forasmuch as he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of the man.

8 p ues el varón no procede de la mujer, sino la mujer del varón;

For the man is not of the woman, but the woman of the man.

9 y tampoco el varón fue creado por causa de la mujer, sino la mujer por causa del varón.

Neither was the man created for the woman, but the woman for the man.

10 P or lo cual la mujer debe tener señal de autoridad sobre su cabeza, por causa de los ángeles.

For this cause the woman ought to have authority over her head: because of the angels.

11 P ero en el Señor, ni el varón es sin la mujer ni la mujer sin el varón,

Nevertheless, neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man, in the Lord.

12 p orque, así como la mujer procede del varón, también el varón nace de la mujer; pero todo procede de Dios.

For as the woman is of the man, even so is the man also by the woman; but all things of God.

13 J uzgad vosotros mismos: ¿Es propio que la mujer ore a Dios sin cubrirse la cabeza?

Judge in yourselves: is it honest that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

14 L a naturaleza misma ¿no os enseña que al varón le es deshonroso dejarse crecer el cabello?

Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man lets his hair grow, it is dishonest?

15 P or el contrario, a la mujer dejarse crecer el cabello le es honroso, porque en lugar de velo le es dado el cabello.

But if a woman lets her hair grow, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given her for a covering.

16 C on todo, si alguno quiere discutir, sepa que ni nosotros ni las iglesias de Dios tenemos tal costumbre. Abusos en la Cena del Señor

With all this, if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the congregation of God.

17 A l anunciaros esto que sigue, no os alabo, porque no os congregáis para lo mejor, sino para lo peor.

¶ Now in this that I declare unto you I praise you not: that ye come together not for the better, but for the worse.

18 E n primer lugar, cuando os reunís como iglesia, oigo que hay entre vosotros divisiones; y en parte lo creo.

For first of all, when ye come together in the congregation, I hear that there are divisions among you; and I partly believe it.

19 E s preciso que entre vosotros haya divisiones, para que se pongan de manifiesto entre vosotros los que son aprobados.

For it is expedient that there also be heresies among you, so that those who are proved may become manifest among you.

20 C uando, pues, os reunís vosotros, eso no es comer la cena del Señor.

So that when ye come together in one place, this is not eating the Lord’s supper.

21 A l comer, cada uno se adelanta a tomar su propia cena; y mientras uno tiene hambre, otro se embriaga.

For in eating, each one takes his own supper first: and one is hungry, and another is drunken.

22 P ues qué, ¿no tenéis casas en que comáis y bebáis? ¿O menospreciáis la iglesia de Dios, y avergonzáis a los que no tienen nada? ¿Qué os diré? ¿Os alabaré? En esto no os alabo. Institución de la Cena del Señor

What? Do ye not have houses to eat and to drink in? or do ye despise the congregation of God and shame those that have not? What shall I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I praise you not.

23 Y o recibí del Señor lo que también os he enseñado: Que el Señor Jesús, la noche que fue entregado, tomó pan;

¶ For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread;

24 y habiendo dado gracias, lo partió, y dijo: «Tomad, comed; esto es mi cuerpo que por vosotros es partido; haced esto en memoria de mí.»

and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you; this do in remembrance of me.

25 A simismo tomó también la copa, después de haber cenado, diciendo: «Esta copa es el nuevo pacto en mi sangre; haced esto todas las veces que la bebáis, en memoria de mí.»

After the same manner also he took the cup, after he had eaten supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood; do this each time that ye drink, in remembrance of me.

26 A sí pues, todas las veces que comáis este pan y bebáis esta copa, la muerte del Señor anunciáis hasta que él venga. Tomando la Cena indignamente

For each time that ye eat this bread and drink this cup, ye declare the Lord’s death until he comes.

27 D e manera que cualquiera que coma este pan o beba esta copa del Señor indignamente, será culpado del cuerpo y de la sangre del Señor.

Therefore whoever shall eat this bread and drink this cup of the Lord unworthily shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

28 P or tanto, pruébese cada uno a sí mismo, y coma así del pan y beba de la copa.

But let each man prove himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup.

29 E l que come y bebe indignamente, sin discernir el cuerpo del Señor, juicio come y bebe para sí.

For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.

30 P or lo cual hay muchos enfermos y debilitados entre vosotros, y muchos han muerto.

For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.

31 S i, pues, nos examináramos a nosotros mismos, no seríamos juzgados;

For if we would examine ourselves, we should not be judged.

32 p ero siendo juzgados, somos castigados por el Señor para que no seamos condenados con el mundo.

But being judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world.

33 A sí que, hermanos míos, cuando os reunáis a comer, esperaos unos a otros.

Therefore, my brothers, when ye come together to eat, wait for one another.

34 S i alguno tiene hambre, que coma en su casa, para que no os reunáis para condenación. Las demás cosas las pondré en orden cuando vaya.

And if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home; that ye not come together unto judgment. And I will set the rest in order when I come.
