1 V ino a mí palabra de Jehová, diciendo:

¶ And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 « Hijo de hombre, pon tu rostro hacia los montes de Israel y profetiza contra ellos.

Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them,

3 D irás: “¡Montes de Israel, oíd palabra de Jehová, el Señor! Así ha dicho Jehová, el Señor, a los montes y a los collados, a los arroyos y a los valles: He aquí que yo, yo mismo, haré venir sobre vosotros espada y destruiré vuestros lugares altos.

and thou shalt say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD. Thus hath the Lord GOD said to the mountains and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys: Behold, I, even I, bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.

4 V uestros altares serán asolados, vuestras imágenes del sol serán quebradas; haré que vuestros muertos caigan delante de vuestros ídolos.

And your altars shall be desolate, and your images of the sun shall be destroyed, and I will cause your dead to fall before your idols.

5 P ondré los cuerpos muertos de los hijos de Israel delante de sus ídolos, y vuestros huesos esparciré alrededor de vuestros altares.

And I will lay the dead carcasses of the sons of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.

6 D ondequiera que habitéis, serán arruinadas las ciudades y los lugares altos serán asolados, para que queden asolados y desiertos vuestros altares. Vuestros ídolos serán quebrados y aniquilados, vuestras imágenes del sol serán destruidas y vuestras obras serán deshechas.

In all your provinces the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate that your altars may be laid waste and condemned, and your idols shall be destroyed and shall cease, and your images of the sun shall be cut down, and your works shall be abolished.

7 L os muertos caerán en medio de vosotros, y sabréis que yo soy Jehová.

And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

8 P ero dejaré un resto, de modo que tengáis entre las naciones algunos que escapen de la espada, cuando seáis esparcidos por las tierras.

¶ Yet I will leave a remnant that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the Gentiles when ye shall be scattered through the countries.

9 L os que de vosotros escapen, se acordarán de mí entre las naciones en las cuales serán cautivos; porque yo me quebranté a causa de su corazón fornicario que se apartó de mí, y a causa de sus ojos que fornicaron tras sus ídolos. Se avergonzarán de sí mismos, a causa de los males que hicieron en todas sus abominaciones.

And those that escape of you shall remember me among the Gentiles where they shall be carried captives because I am broken because of your whorish heart, which has departed from me and because of your eyes, which went a whoring after your idols: and they shall loathe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

10 Y sabrán que yo soy Jehová; no en vano dije que les había de hacer este mal.”»

And they shall know that I am the LORD and that I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.

11 A sí ha dicho Jehová, el Señor: «Da palmadas con tus manos y golpea con tu pie, y di: “¡Ay, por todas las grandes abominaciones de la casa de Israel!, porque con espada, con hambre y con peste caerán.

¶ Thus hath the Lord GOD said: Smite with thine hand and stamp with thy foot and say, Alas for all the abominations of the evils of the house of Israel! for they shall fall by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence.

12 E l que esté lejos morirá de peste, el que esté cerca caerá a espada, y el que quede y sea asediado morirá de hambre.” Así consumaré en ellos mi enojo.

He that is far off shall die of the pestilence, and he that is near shall fall by the sword, and he that remains and is besieged shall die by the famine: thus will I accomplish my fury in them.

13 S abréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando sus muertos estén en medio de sus ídolos, alrededor de sus altares, sobre todo collado alto, en todas las cumbres de los montes, debajo de todo árbol frondoso y debajo de toda encina espesa, lugares donde ofrecieron incienso a todos sus ídolos.

Then shall ye know that I am the LORD when their slain men shall be among their idols round about their altars, upon every high hill, in all the tops of the mountains, and under every green tree, and under every thick oak, the place where they offered sweet savour to all their idols.

14 E xtenderé mi mano contra ellos, y dondequiera que habiten dejaré la tierra más asolada y devastada que el desierto hacia Diblat; y conocerán que yo soy Jehová.»

So will I stretch out my hand upon them and make the land desolate, even more desolate than the wilderness toward Diblath, in all their habitations; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
