1 E n aquel tiempo los discípulos se acercaron a Jesús y le preguntaron: —¿Quién es el mayor en el reino de los cielos?

¶ At the same time the disciples came unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?

2 L lamando Jesús a un niño, lo puso en medio de ellos

And Jesus called a little child unto him and set him in the midst of them

3 y dijo: —De cierto os digo que si no os volvéis y os hacéis como niños, no entraréis en el reino de los cielos.

and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

4 A sí que cualquiera que se humille como este niño, ése es el mayor en el reino de los cielos.

Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens.

5 Y cualquiera que reciba en mi nombre a un niño como éste, a mí me recibe. Ocasiones de caer

And whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name receives me.

6 » A cualquiera que haga tropezar a alguno de estos pequeños que creen en mí, mejor le fuera que se le colgara al cuello una piedra de molino de asno y que se le hundiera en lo profundo del mar.

But whosoever shall cause one of these little ones who believe in me to fall, it would be better for him that a millstone such as is turned by an ass be hanged about his neck and that he be sunk in the depth of the sea.

7 ¡ Ay del mundo por los tropiezos! Es necesario que vengan tropiezos, pero ¡ay de aquel hombre por quien viene el tropiezo!

¶ Woe unto the world because of offenses! For it must needs be that offenses come, but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

8 P or tanto, si tu mano o tu pie te es ocasión de caer, córtalo y échalo de ti: mejor te es entrar en la vida cojo o manco, que teniendo dos manos o dos pies ser arrojado en el fuego eterno.

Therefore if thy hand or thy foot cause thee to fall, cut them off and cast them from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into eternal fire.

9 Y si tu ojo te es ocasión de caer, sácalo y échalo de ti: mejor te es entrar con un solo ojo en la vida, que teniendo dos ojos ser echado en el infierno de fuego. Parábola de la oveja perdida

And if thine eye causes thee to fall, pluck it out and cast it from thee; it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into the hell of fire.

10 » Mirad que no menospreciéis a uno de estos pequeños, porque os digo que sus ángeles en los cielos ven siempre el rostro de mi Padre que está en los cielos,

Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in the heavens their angels always behold the face of my Father who is in the heavens.

11 p orque el Hijo del hombre ha venido para salvar lo que se había perdido.

For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.

12 » ¿Qué os parece? Si un hombre tiene cien ovejas y se descarría una de ellas, ¿no deja las noventa y nueve y va por los montes a buscar la que se ha descarriado?

What do you think? If a man had a hundred sheep and one of them went astray, would he not leave the ninety-nine and go into the mountains and seek that which is gone astray?

13 Y si acontece que la encuentra, de cierto os digo que se regocija más por aquélla que por las noventa y nueve que no se descarriaron.

And if so be that he finds it, verily I say unto you, he rejoices more of that one than of the ninety-nine who did not go astray.

14 D e igual modo, no es la voluntad de vuestro Padre que está en los cielos que se pierda uno de estos pequeños. Cómo se debe perdonar

Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in the heavens that one of these little ones should perish.

15 » Por tanto, si tu hermano peca contra ti, ve y repréndelo estando tú y él solos; si te oye, has ganado a tu hermano.

¶ Therefore if thy brother shall sin against thee, go and reprove him between thee and him alone; if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16 P ero si no te oye, toma aún contigo a uno o dos, para que en boca de dos o tres testigos conste toda palabra.

But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17 S i no los oye a ellos, dilo a la iglesia; y si no oye a la iglesia, tenlo por gentil y publicano.

And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the congregation; but if he neglects to hear the congregation, let him be unto thee as a worldly man and a publican.

18 D e cierto os digo que todo lo que atéis en la tierra será atado en el cielo; y todo lo que desatéis en la tierra será desatado en el cielo.

Verily I say unto you, Whatever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in the heaven; and whatever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in the heaven.

19 O tra vez os digo que si dos de vosotros se ponen de acuerdo en la tierra acerca de cualquier cosa que pidan, les será hecho por mi Padre que está en los cielos,

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father who is in the heavens.

20 p orque donde están dos o tres congregados en mi nombre, allí estoy yo en medio de ellos.

For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

21 E ntonces se le acercó Pedro y le dijo: —Señor, ¿cuántas veces perdonaré a mi hermano que peque contra mí? ¿Hasta siete?

¶ Then Peter came to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? until seven times?

22 J esús le dijo: —No te digo hasta siete, sino aun hasta setenta veces siete. Parábola del siervo que no quiso perdonar

Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times, but, Until seventy times seven.

23 » Por lo cual el reino de los cielos es semejante a un rey que quiso hacer cuentas con sus siervos.

Therefore is the kingdom of the heavens likened unto a man who is king who would take account of his slaves.

24 C uando comenzó a hacer cuentas, le fue presentado uno que le debía diez mil talentos.

And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him who owed him ten thousand talents.

25 A éste, como no pudo pagar, ordenó su señor venderlo, junto con su mujer e hijos y todo lo que tenía, para que se le pagara la deuda.

But he not having wherewith to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife and children and all that he had, to make payment.

26 E ntonces aquel siervo, postrado, le suplicaba diciendo: “Señor, ten paciencia conmigo y yo te lo pagaré todo.”

The slave therefore fell down and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

27 E l señor de aquel siervo, movido a misericordia, lo soltó y le perdonó la deuda.

Then the lord of that slave was moved with compassion and loosed him and forgave him the debt.

28 » Pero saliendo aquel siervo, halló a uno de sus consiervos que le debía cien denarios; y agarrándolo, lo ahogaba, diciendo: “Págame lo que me debes.”

But as the same slave was leaving, he found one of his fellowslaves who owed him a hundred denarius, and he laid hands on him and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me what thou owest.

29 E ntonces su consiervo, postrándose a sus pies, le rogaba diciendo: “Ten paciencia conmigo y yo te lo pagaré todo.”

And his fellowslave fell down at his feet and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.

30 P ero él no quiso, sino que fue y lo echó en la cárcel hasta que pagara la deuda.

And he would not, but went and cast him into prison until he should pay the debt.

31 V iendo sus consiervos lo que pasaba, se entristecieron mucho, y fueron y refirieron a su señor todo lo que había pasado.

So when his fellowslaves saw what was done, they were very grieved and came and declared unto their lord all that was done.

32 E ntonces, llamándolo su señor, le dijo: “Siervo malvado, toda aquella deuda te perdoné, porque me rogaste.

Then his lord, after he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked slave, I forgave thee all that debt because thou didst beseech me;

33 ¿ No debías tú también tener misericordia de tu consiervo, como yo tuve misericordia de ti?”

was it not also expedient unto thee to have mercy on thy fellowslave even as I had mercy on thee?

34 E ntonces su señor, enojado, lo entregó a los verdugos hasta que pagara todo lo que le debía.

And his lord was wroth and delivered him to the tormentors until he should pay all that was due unto him.

35 A sí también mi Padre celestial hará con vosotros, si no perdonáis de todo corazón cada uno a su hermano sus ofensas.

So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you unless from your hearts ye forgive every one his brother their trespasses.
