1 M e paré sobre la arena del mar y vi subir del mar una bestia que tenía siete cabezas y diez cuernos: en sus cuernos tenía diez diademas, y sobre sus cabezas, nombres de blasfemia.

¶ And I stood upon the sand of the sea and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon its horns ten crowns, and upon its heads the name of blasphemy.

2 L a bestia que vi era semejante a un leopardo, sus pies eran como de oso y su boca como boca de león. El dragón le dio su poder, su trono y gran autoridad.

And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and its feet were as the feet of a bear, and its mouth as the mouth of a lion; and the dragon gave it his power and his throne and great authority.

3 V i una de sus cabezas como herida de muerte, pero su herida mortal fue sanada. Toda la tierra se maravilló en pos de la bestia,

And I saw one of its heads as it were wounded to death; and its deadly wound was healed; and all the earth marveled, and followed the beast.

4 y adoraron al dragón que había dado autoridad a la bestia, y adoraron a la bestia, diciendo: «¿Quién como la bestia y quién podrá luchar contra ella?»

And they worshipped the dragon which had given the authority unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast; saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with it?

5 T ambién se le dio boca que hablaba arrogancias y blasfemias, y se le dio autoridad para actuar por cuarenta y dos meses.

And there was given unto it a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto it to continue forty and two months.

6 Y abrió su boca para blasfemar contra Dios, para blasfemar de su nombre, de su tabernáculo y de los que habitan en el cielo.

And it opened its mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name and his tabernacle and those that dwell in heaven.

7 S e le permitió hacer guerra contra los santos, y vencerlos. También se le dio autoridad sobre toda tribu, pueblo, lengua y nación.

And it was given unto it to make war with the saints and to overcome them; and power was given it over all kindreds and tongues and nations.

8 L a adoraron todos los habitantes de la tierra cuyos nombres no estaban escritos desde el principio del mundo en el libro de la vida del Cordero que fue inmolado.

And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship it, whose names are not written in the book of the life of the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world.

9 S i alguno tiene oído, oiga:

If anyone has an ear, let him hear.

10 « Si alguno lleva en cautividad, a cautividad irá. Si alguno mata a espada, a espada será muerto.» Aquí está la perseverancia y la fe de los santos.

He that leads into captivity shall go into captivity; he that kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 D espués vi otra bestia que subía de la tierra. Tenía dos cuernos semejantes a los de un cordero, pero hablaba como un dragón.

¶ Then I beheld another beast coming up out of the land; and he had two horns like the Lamb, but he spoke as the dragon.

12 E jerce toda la autoridad de la primera bestia en presencia de ella, y hace que la tierra y sus habitantes adoren a la primera bestia, cuya herida mortal fue sanada.

And he exercised all the power of the first beast in its presence and caused the earth and those that dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 T ambién hace grandes señales, de tal manera que incluso hace descender fuego del cielo a la tierra delante de los hombres.

And he does great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven to the earth in the sight of men

14 E ngaña a los habitantes de la tierra con las señales que se le ha permitido hacer en presencia de la bestia, diciendo a los habitantes de la tierra que le hagan una imagen a la bestia que fue herida de espada y revivió.

and deceives those that dwell on the earth by those signs which were given unto him to do in the presence of the beast, commanding those that dwell on the earth to make an image of the beast, which has the wound by the sword, and did live.

15 S e le permitió infundir aliento a la imagen de la bestia, para que la imagen hablara e hiciera matar a todo el que no la adorara.

And it was given unto him to endue the image of the beast with spirit, so that the image of the beast should speak, and he shall cause those that do not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

16 Y hacía que a todos, pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se les pusiera una marca en la mano derecha o en la frente,

And he caused all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slaves, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads;

17 y que ninguno pudiera comprar ni vender, sino el que tuviera la marca o el nombre de la bestia o el número de su nombre.

and that no one might buy or sell, unless he has the mark or the name of the beast or the number of its name.

18 A quí hay sabiduría. El que tiene entendimiento cuente el número de la bestia, pues es número de hombre. Y su número es seiscientos sesenta y seis.

Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for the number of man; and its number is six hundred sixty-six.
