1 H abló Moisés a los príncipes de las tribus de los hijos de Israel y les dijo: «Esto es lo que Jehová ha mandado:

¶ And Moses spoke unto the princes of the tribes concerning the sons of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD has commanded.

2 C uando alguien haga un voto a Jehová, o haga un juramento ligando su alma con alguna obligación, no quebrantará su palabra; hará conforme a todo lo que salió de su boca.

When a man vows a vow unto the LORD or swears an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not defile his word: he shall do according to all that proceeded out of his mouth.

3 » Pero cuando una mujer joven, que todavía vive en la casa de su padre, haga un voto a Jehová o asuma alguna obligación,

¶ But the woman, when she shall vow a vow unto the LORD and bind herself by a bond, being in her father’s house in her youth,

4 s i su padre sabe de su voto o de la obligación con que ligó su alma, y su padre no dice nada, todos los votos de ella serán firmes, y toda obligación con que haya ligado su alma, firme será.

and her father hears her vow and her bond with which she has bound her soul, and her father shall remain silent regarding it, then all her promises shall stand, and every bond with which she has bound her soul shall stand.

5 P ero si su padre se lo prohíbe el día en que se entera, ninguno de los votos y las obligaciones con que ella haya ligado su alma será firme. Y Jehová la perdonará, por cuanto su padre se lo prohibió.

But if her father disallows her in the day that he hears all of her vows and of her bonds with which she has bound her soul, they shall not stand, and the LORD shall forgive her, because her father disallowed her.

6 » Pero si es casada y hace votos, o pronuncia con sus labios cosa con que obligue su alma,

But if she had at all a husband when she vowed or pronounced anything out of her lips, with which she bound her soul,

7 y al enterarse su marido no dice nada, los votos de ella serán firmes, y la obligación con que ligó su alma, firme será.

if her husband heard it and remained silent regarding it in the day that he heard it, then her vows shall stand, and her bonds with which she bound her soul shall stand.

8 P ero si cuando su marido se entera, se lo prohíbe, entonces queda anulado el voto que ella hizo y el compromiso de sus labios con que ligó su alma. Y Jehová la perdonará.

But if her husband disallowed her on the day that he heard it, then her vow which she vowed and that which she pronounced with her lips, with which she bound her soul, shall be of no effect, and the LORD shall forgive her.

9 » Pero todo voto de viuda o repudiada con que ligue su alma será firme.

But every vow of a widow and of her that is divorced, with which they have bound their souls, shall stand.

10 » Si una mujer hace un voto en casa de su marido, y ha ligado su alma con alguna obligación bajo juramento,

And if she vowed in her husband’s house or bound her soul by a bond with an oath;

11 y al enterarse su marido no dice nada ni se lo prohíbe, entonces todos sus votos serán firmes, y toda obligación con que haya ligado su alma, firme será.

if her husband heard it and remained silent regarding it and did not disallow her, then all her vows shall stand, and every bond with which she bound her soul shall stand.

12 P ero si su marido los anuló el día que se enteró, todo lo que salió de sus labios en cuanto a sus votos y en cuanto a la obligación de su alma, será nulo; su marido los anuló, y Jehová la perdonará.

But if her husband has utterly made them void on the day he heard them, then whatever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows or concerning the bond of her soul, shall not stand; her husband has made them void, and the LORD shall forgive her.

13 » Todo voto y todo juramento que obligue a afligir el alma, su marido lo confirmará, o su marido lo anulará.

Every vow and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish it, or her husband may make it void.

14 P ero si su marido calla ante ello, día tras día, entonces confirmó todos sus votos y todas las obligaciones que pesan sobre ella; los confirmó, por cuanto calló ante ello el día que se enteró.

But if her husband remained silent regarding this from day to day; then he establishes all her vows or all her bonds, which are upon her; he confirms them because he remained silent regarding this in the day that he heard them.

15 P ero si los anula después de haberse enterado, entonces él cargará con el pecado de ella.»

But if he shall in any way make them void after that he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.

16 É stas son las ordenanzas que Jehová mandó a Moisés entre el marido y su mujer, y entre el padre y la hija que, durante su juventud, todavía vive en casa de su padre.

These are the statutes which the LORD commanded Moses between a man and his wife and between the father and his daughter, being yet in her youth in her father’s house.
