1 E l quinto ángel tocó la trompeta, y vi una estrella que cayó del cielo a la tierra. Y se le dio la llave del pozo del abismo.

¶ And the fifth angel sounded the trumpet, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth; and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit.

2 A brió el pozo del abismo, y del pozo subió humo como humo de un gran horno, y el sol y el aire se oscurecieron por el humo del pozo.

And he opened the bottomless pit, and there arose smoke out of the pit as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3 D el humo salieron langostas sobre la tierra, y se les dio poder, como el poder que tienen los escorpiones de la tierra.

And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4 S e les mandó que no dañaran la hierba de la tierra, ni cosa verde alguna ni ningún árbol, sino solamente a los hombres que no tuvieran el sello de Dios en sus frentes.

And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth neither any green thing neither any tree, but only those men who do not have the seal of God in their foreheads.

5 P ero no se les permitió que los mataran, sino que los atormentaran cinco meses; y su tormento era como el tormento del escorpión cuando hiere al hombre.

And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should torment them five months; and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion when he strikes a man.

6 E n aquellos días los hombres buscarán la muerte, pero no la hallarán; ansiarán morir, pero la muerte huirá de ellos.

And in those days men shall seek death and shall not find it and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

7 E l aspecto de las langostas era semejante a caballos preparados para la guerra; en las cabezas tenían como coronas de oro, sus caras eran como caras humanas,

And the appearance of the locusts was like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men.

8 t enían cabello como cabello de mujer y sus dientes eran como de leones;

And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

9 t enían corazas como corazas de hierro y el ruido de sus alas era como el estruendo de muchos carros de caballos corriendo a la batalla;

And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

10 t enían colas como de escorpiones, y también aguijones, y en sus colas tenían poder para dañar a los hombres durante cinco meses.

And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails; and their power was to hurt men five months.

11 S obre ellos tienen como rey al ángel del abismo, cuyo nombre en hebreo es Abadón, y en griego, Apolión.

And they had a king over them, who is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon meaning destroyer.

12 E l primer ay pasó; pero vienen aún dos ayes después de esto.

The first woe is past; and, behold, there come two more woes after these things.

13 E l sexto ángel tocó la trompeta, y oí una voz de entre los cuatro cuernos del altar de oro que estaba delante de Dios,

¶ And the sixth angel sounded the trumpet, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before the presence of God,

14 l a cual decía al sexto ángel que tenía la trompeta: «¡Desata a los cuatro ángeles que están atados junto al gran río Éufrates!»

saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, Loose the four angels who are bound in the great river Euphrates.

15 Y fueron desatados los cuatro ángeles que estaban preparados para la hora, día, mes y año, a fin de matar la tercera parte de los hombres.

And the four angels were loosed, who were prepared unto the hour and day and month and year, to slay the third part of men.

16 Y el número de los ejércitos de los jinetes era de doscientos millones. Yo oí su número.

And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred million: and I heard the number of them.

17 A sí vi en visión los caballos y sus jinetes, que tenían corazas de fuego, zafiro y azufre. Las cabezas de los caballos eran como cabezas de leones, y de sus bocas salía fuego, humo y azufre.

And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and those that sat on them, having breastplates of fire and of jacinth and brimstone; and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

18 P or estas tres plagas fue muerta la tercera parte de los hombres: por el fuego, el humo y el azufre que salía de sus bocas,

By these three plagues was the third part of men killed, by the fire and by the smoke and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths.

19 p ues el poder de los caballos estaba en sus bocas y en sus colas, porque sus colas, semejantes a serpientes, tenían cabezas y con ellas dañan.

For their power is in their mouth and in their tails; for their tails were like unto serpents that have heads, and with them they do hurt.

20 L os demás hombres, los que no fueron muertos con estas plagas, ni aun así se arrepintieron de las obras de sus manos ni dejaron de adorar a los demonios y a las imágenes de oro, plata, bronce, piedra y madera, las cuales no pueden ver ni oír ni andar.

And the rest of the men who were not killed by these plagues did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons and the images of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which neither can see nor hear nor walk.

21 N o se arrepintieron de sus homicidios, ni de sus hechicerías, ni de su fornicación, ni de sus robos.

And they did not repent of their murders nor of their witchcraft nor of their fornication nor of their thefts.
