1 H abló Jehová a Moisés y le dijo:

¶ And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,

2 « Habla a los hijos de Israel, y toma de todos sus príncipes una vara por cada casa paterna: doce varas en total, conforme a las casas de sus padres. Tú escribirás el nombre de cada uno sobre su vara,

Speak unto the sons of Israel and take of each of them a rod according to the houses of their fathers, of all their princes, twelve rods according to the houses of their fathers, and write thou each man’s name upon his rod.

3 y sobre la vara de Leví escribirás el nombre de Aarón, pues cada jefe de familia paterna tendrá una vara.

And thou shalt write Aaron’s name upon the rod of Levi, for each head of family of their fathers shall have one rod.

4 L as pondrás en el Tabernáculo de reunión delante del Testimonio, donde yo me manifestaré a vosotros.

And thou shalt lay them up in the tabernacle of the testimony, before the testimony, where I will testify of myself unto you.

5 F lorecerá la vara del hombre que yo escoja, y así haré cesar delante de mí las quejas que murmuran los hijos de Israel contra vosotros.»

And it shall come to pass regarding the man whom I shall choose that his rod shall blossom; and I will resolve the complaints of the sons of Israel, with which they murmur against you.

6 M oisés habló a los hijos de Israel, y todos los príncipes de ellos le dieron varas; cada príncipe una vara en representación de sus casas paternas: en total doce varas. La vara de Aarón estaba entre las varas de ellos.

And Moses spoke unto the sons of Israel, and all their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

7 M oisés puso las varas delante de Jehová en el tabernáculo del Testimonio.

And Moses laid up the rods before the LORD in the tabernacle of the testimony.

8 Y aconteció que al día siguiente fue Moisés al tabernáculo del Testimonio y vio que la vara de Aarón de la casa de Leví había reverdecido, echado flores, arrojado renuevos y producido almendras.

¶ And it came to pass that on the next day Moses went into the tabernacle of the testimony; and, behold, the rod of Aaron of the house of Levi had budded and blossomed and brought forth open flowers and yielded almonds.

9 E ntonces sacó Moisés todas las varas de delante de Jehová ante todos los hijos de Israel; ellos lo vieron, y tomó cada uno su vara.

Then Moses brought out all the rods from before the LORD unto all the sons of Israel; and they looked, and each one took his rod.

10 Y Jehová dijo a Moisés: «Vuelve a colocar la vara de Aarón delante del Testimonio, para que se guarde como señal para los hijos rebeldes. Así harás cesar sus quejas delante de mí, para que no mueran.»

And the LORD said unto Moses, Return Aaron’s rod before the testimony to be kept for a sign unto the rebellious sons; and thou shalt cause their complaints to cease from upon me, that they not die.

11 M oisés hizo como le mandó Jehová: así lo hizo.

And Moses did as the LORD commanded him, so did he.

12 E ntonces los hijos de Israel dijeron a Moisés: «¡Nos estamos muriendo! ¡Estamos perdidos! ¡Todos nosotros estamos perdidos!

Then the sons of Israel spoke unto Moses, saying, Behold, we are dead, we are lost, we are all lost.

13 C ualquiera que se acerque, el que se llegue al tabernáculo de Jehová, morirá. ¿Acabaremos por perecer todos?»

Anyone who comes near unto the tabernacle of the LORD shall die; shall we all perish?
