1 C anto dei pellegrinaggi. O Signore, io grido a te da luoghi profondi!

Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord.

2 S ignore, ascolta il mio grido; siano le tue orecchie attente al mio grido d’aiuto!

Lord, hear my voice: let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.

3 S e tieni conto delle colpe, Signore, chi potrà resistere?

If thou, Lord, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?

4 M a presso di te è il perdono, perché tu sia temuto.

But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.

5 I o aspetto il Signore, l’anima mia lo aspetta; io spero nella sua parola.

I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in his word do I hope.

6 L ’anima mia anela al Signore più che le guardie non anelino al mattino, più che le guardie al mattino.

My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the morning: I say, more than they that watch for the morning.

7 O Israele, spera nel Signore, poiché presso il Signore è la misericordia e la redenzione abbonda presso di lui.

Let Israel hope in the Lord: for with the Lord there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.

8 E gli redimerà Israele da tutte le sue colpe.

And he shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
