1 A lleluia. Cantate al Signore un cantico nuovo, cantate la sua lode nell’assemblea dei fedeli.

Praise ye the Lord. Sing unto the Lord a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.

2 S i rallegri Israele in colui che lo ha fatto, esultino i figli di Sion nel loro re.

Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.

3 L odino il suo nome con danze, salmeggino a lui con il tamburello e la cetra,

Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.

4 p erché il Signore gradisce il suo popolo e adorna di salvezza gli umili.

For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

5 E sultino i fedeli nella gloria, cantino di gioia sui loro letti.

Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.

6 A bbiano in bocca le lodi di Dio, e una spada a due tagli in mano

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;

7 p er punire le nazioni e infliggere castighi ai popoli;

To execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people;

8 p er legare i loro re con catene e i loro nobili con ceppi di ferro,

To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;

9 p er eseguire su di loro il giudizio scritto. Questo è l’onore riservato a tutti i suoi fedeli. Alleluia.

To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the Lord.
