1 Y cesaron estos tres varones de responder a Job, por cuanto él era justo en sus ojos.

So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.

2 E ntonces Eliú hijo de Baraquel, buzita, de la familia de Ram, se enojó con furor contra Job; se enojó con furor, por cuanto se justificaba a sí mismo más que a Dios.

Then the wrath of Elihu the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram, was kindled against Job. His wrath was kindled because he justified himself rather than God.

3 S e enojó asimismo con furor contra sus tres amigos, por cuanto no hallaban qué responder, habiendo condenado a Job.

Also his wrath was kindled against his three friends, because they had found no answer, and yet had condemned Job.

4 Y Eliú había esperado a Job en la disputa, porque todos eran más viejos de días que él.

Now Elihu had waited to speak to Job, because they were elder than he.

5 P ero viendo Eliú que no había respuesta en la boca de aquellos tres varones, su furor se encendió.

When Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.

6 Y respondió Eliú hijo de Baraquel, buzita, y dijo: Yo soy menor de días y vosotros viejos; por tanto he tenido miedo, y he temido de declararos mi opinión.

Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite answered, “I am young, and you are very old; Therefore I held back, and didn’t dare show you my opinion.

7 Y o decía: Los días hablarán, y la muchedumbre de años declarará sabiduría.

I said, ‘Days should speak, and multitude of years should teach wisdom.’

8 C iertamente espíritu hay en el hombre, e inspiración del Omnipotente los hace que entiendan.

But there is a spirit in man, and the breath of the Almighty gives them understanding.

9 N o siempre los grandes son los sabios, ni los viejos entienden el derecho.

It is not the great who are wise, nor the aged who understand justice.

10 P or tanto yo dije: Escuchadme; declararé yo también mi conocimiento.

Therefore I said, ‘Listen to me; I also will show my opinion.’

11 H e aquí yo he esperado a vuestras palabras, he escuchado vuestros argumentos, entre tanto que buscábais palabras.

“Behold, I waited for your words, and I listened for your reasoning, while you searched out what to say.

12 Y aun os he considerado, y he aquí que no hay de vosotros quien redarguya a Job, y responda a sus razones.

Yes, I gave you my full attention, but there was no one who convinced Job, or who answered his words, among you.

13 P ara que no digáis: Nosotros hemos hallado sabiduría; que conviene que Dios lo derribe, y no el hombre.

Beware lest you say, ‘We have found wisdom, God may refute him, not man;’

14 A hora bien, él no dirigió a mí sus palabras, ni yo le responderé con vuestras razones.

for he has not directed his words against me; neither will I answer him with your speeches.

15 S e espantaron, no respondieron más; se les fueron las palabras.

“They are amazed. They answer no more. They don’t have a word to say.

16 Y yo esperé, porque no hablaban, antes pararon, y no respondieron más.

Shall I wait, because they don’t speak, because they stand still, and answer no more?

17 P or eso yo también responderé mi parte, también yo declararé mi opinión.

I also will answer my part, and I also will show my opinion.

18 P orque lleno estoy de palabras, y el espíritu de mi vientre me constriñe.

For I am full of words. The spirit within me constrains me.

19 D e cierto mi vientre está como el vino que no tiene respiradero, y está que se brote como licor.

Behold, my breast is as wine which has no vent; like new wineskins it is ready to burst.

20 H ablaré pues y respiraré; abriré mis labios, y responderé.

I will speak, that I may be refreshed. I will open my lips and answer.

21 N o haré ahora acepción de personas, ni usaré con títulos lisonjeros con el hombre.

Please don’t let me respect any man’s person, neither will I give flattering titles to any man.

22 P orque no sé hablar lisonjas; de otra manera en breve mi Hacedor me consuma.

For I don’t know how to give flattering titles; or else my Maker would soon take me away.
