1 E ste es el libro de los descendientes de Adán. El día en que creó Dios al hombre, a semejanza de Dios lo hizo.

This is the book of the children of Adam and of their children’s children. When God made man, He made him in the likeness of God.

2 V arón y hembra los creó; y los bendijo, y llamó el nombre de ellos Adán, el día en que fueron creados.

He made them male and female, and brought good to them. And He gave them the name Man when they were made.

3 Y vivió Adán ciento treinta años, y engendró un hijo a su semejanza, conforme a su imagen, y llamó su nombre Set.

When Adam had lived 130 years, he gave birth to a son in his own likeness. And he gave him the name Seth.

4 Y fueron los días de Adán después que engendró a Set, ochocientos años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Adam lived 800 years after he became the father of Seth. He had other sons and daughters.

5 Y fueron todos los días que vivió Adán novecientos treinta años; y murió.

So Adam lived 930 years, and he died.

6 V ivió Set ciento cinco años, y engendró a Enós.

When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father of Enosh.

7 Y vivió Set, después que engendró a Enós, ochocientos siete años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Seth lived 807 years after the birth of Enosh. He had other sons and daughters.

8 Y fueron todos los días de Set novecientos doce años; y murió.

So Seth lived 912 years, and he died.

9 V ivió Enós noventa años, y engendró a Cainán.

When Enosh had lived ninety years, he became the father of Kenan.

10 Y vivió Enós, después que engendró a Cainán, ochocientos quince años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Enosh lived 815 years after the birth of Kenan. He had other sons and daughters.

11 Y fueron todos los días de Enós novecientos cinco años; y murió.

So Enosh lived 905 years, and he died.

12 V ivió Cainán setenta años, y engendró a Mahalalel.

When Kenan had lived seventy years, he became the father of Mahalalel.

13 Y vivió Cainán, después que engendró a Mahalalel, ochocientos cuarenta años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Kenan lived 840 years after the birth of Mahalalel. He had other sons and daughters.

14 Y fueron todos los días de Cainán novecientos diez años, y murió.

So Kenan lived 910 years, and he died.

15 V ivió Mahalalel sesenta y cinco años, y engendró a Jared.

When Mahalalel had lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Jared.

16 Y vivió Mahalalel, después que engendró a Jared, ochocientos treinta años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Mahalalel lived 830 years after the birth of Jared. He had other sons and daughters.

17 Y fueron todos los días de Mahalalel ochocientos noventa y cinco años; y murió.

So Mahalalel lived 895 years, and he died.

18 V ivió Jared ciento sesenta y dos años, y engendró a Enoc.

When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.

19 Y vivió Jared, después que engendró a Enoc, ochocientos años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Jared lived 800 years after the birth of Enoch. He had other sons and daughters.

20 Y fueron todos los días de Jared novecientos sesenta y dos años; y murió.

So Jared lived 962 years, and he died.

21 V ivió Enoc sesenta y cinco años, y engendró a Matusalén.

When Enoch had lived sixty-five years, he became the father of Methuselah.

22 Y caminó Enoc con Dios, después que engendró a Matusalén, trescientos años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Enoch walked with God 300 years after the birth of Methuselah. He had other sons and daughters.

23 Y fueron todos los días de Enoc trescientos sesenta y cinco años.

So Enoch lived 365 years.

24 C aminó, pues, Enoc con Dios, y desapareció, porque le llevó Dios.

Enoch walked with God, and he was seen no more, for God took him.

25 V ivió Matusalén ciento ochenta y siete años, y engendró a Lamec.

When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.

26 Y vivió Matusalén, después que engendró a Lamec, setecientos ochenta y dos años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Methuselah lived 782 years after the birth of Lamech. He had other sons and daughters.

27 F ueron, pues, todos los días de Matusalén, novecientos sesenta y nueve años; y murió.

So Methuselah lived 969 years, and he died.

28 V ivió Lamec ciento ochenta y dos años, y engendró un hijo;

When Lamech had lived 182 years, he became the father of a son.

29 y llamó su nombre Noé, diciendo: Éste nos aliviará de nuestras obras y del trabajo de nuestras manos, a causa de la tierra que Jehová maldijo.

He gave him the name Noah. He said, “This one will give us rest from our work, from the hard work of our hands because the ground was cursed by the Lord.”

30 Y vivió Lamec, después que engendró a Noé, quinientos noventa y cinco años, y engendró hijos e hijas.

Lamech lived 595 years after the birth of Noah. He had other sons and daughters.

31 Y fueron todos los días de Lamec setecientos setenta y siete años; y murió.

So Lamech lived 777 years, and he died.

32 Y siendo Noé de quinientos años, engendró a Sem, a Cam y a Jafet.

When Noah had lived 500 years, he became the father of Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
