1 L os sacerdotes levitas, es decir, toda la tribu de Leví, no tendrán parte ni heredad en Israel; de los manjares ofrecidos a Jehová y de la heredad de él comerán.

“The Levite religious leaders of the family group of Levi will have no share of the land given to Israel. They will live on the gifts given to the Lord by fire.

2 N o tendrán, pues, heredad entre sus hermanos; Jehová es su herencia, como él les ha dicho.

They will have no share of the land among their brothers. The Lord is their share, as He promised them.

3 Y éste será el derecho de los sacerdotes de parte del pueblo: los que ofrezcan en sacrificio buey o cordero darán al sacerdote la espaldilla, las quijadas y el cuajar.

“When the people bring their gifts, a bull or a sheep, the religious leader is to be given the shoulder, the parts of the face, and the stomach.

4 L as primicias de tu grano, de tu vino y de tu aceite, y las primicias de la lana de tus ovejas le darás;

Give him the first of your grain, your wine, and your oil, and the first wool of your sheep.

5 p orque le ha escogido Jehová tu Dios de entre todas tus tribus, para que esté para administrar en el nombre de Jehová, él y sus hijos para siempre.

For the Lord your God has chosen him and his sons from all your families, to stand and serve in the name of the Lord forever.

6 Y cuando salga un levita de alguna de tus ciudades de entre todo Israel, donde haya vivido, porque tuviera un gran deseo en su alma de ministrar en el lugar escogido por Jehová,

“If a Levite comes whenever he desires from any of the towns in Israel to the place the Lord chooses,

7 m inistrará en el nombre de Jehová su Dios, como todos sus hermanos los levitas que estén establecidos allí delante de Jehová.

then he may work in the name of the Lord his God, like all his brother Levites who stand there before the Lord.

8 I gual ración a la de los otros comerá, además de lo que obtenga de sus propios bienes. Contra costumbres paganas

They will all eat the same share of food, except what they receive from what is sold of their fathers’ lands. Stay Away from What Is Sinful

9 C uando entres en la tierra que Jehová tu Dios te da, no aprenderás a hacer según las abominaciones de aquellas naciones.

“When you go into the land the Lord your God gives you, do not learn to follow the hated and sinful ways of those nations.

10 N o sea hallado en ti quien haga pasar a su hijo o a su hija por el fuego, ni quien practique adivinación, ni agorero, ni sortílego, ni hechicero,

There must not be found among you anyone who makes his son or daughter pass through the fire, or uses secret ways, or does witchcraft, or tells the meaning of special things, or is a witch,

11 n i encantador, ni adivino, ni mago, ni quien consulte a los muertos.

or uses secret power on people, or helps people talk to spirits, or talks to spirits himself, or talks with the dead.

12 P orque es abominación para con Jehová cualquiera que hace estas cosas, y por estas abominaciones Jehová tu Dios echa estas naciones de delante de ti.

For the Lord hates whoever does these things. And because of these hated things, the Lord your God will drive them out from in front of you.

13 P erfecto serás delante de Jehová tu Dios.

You must be without blame before the Lord your God.

14 P orque estas naciones que vas a heredar, a agoreros y a adivinos oyen; mas a ti no te ha permitido esto Jehová tu Dios.

For these nations that you are about to take listen to those who do witchcraft and use secret ways. But the Lord your God has not allowed you to do so. A Man Who Speaks for God

15 P rofeta de en medio de ti, de tus hermanos, como yo, te levantará Jehová tu Dios; a él oiréis.

“The Lord your God will give you a man who speaks for God like me from among your own brothers. You must listen to him.

16 E sto es exactamente lo que pediste a Jehová tu Dios en Horeb el día de la asamblea, diciendo: No vuelva yo a oír la voz de Jehová mi Dios, ni vea yo más este gran fuego, para que no muera.

This is what you asked of the Lord your God at Sinai on the day of the meeting, when you said, ‘Do not let me hear the voice of the Lord my God again. Do not let me see this fire any more, or I will die.’

17 Y Jehová me dijo: Han hablado bien en lo que han dicho.

And the Lord said to me, ‘They have spoken well.

18 P rofeta les levantaré de en medio de sus hermanos, como tú; y pondré mis palabras en su boca, y él les hablará todo lo que yo le mande.

I will give them a man who speaks for God like you from among their brothers. I will put My words in his mouth. And he will make known to them all that I tell him.

19 M as a cualquiera que no oiga mis palabras que él hable en mi nombre, yo le pediré cuenta.

He will speak in My name. And I will punish whoever will not listen to him.

20 E l profeta que tenga la presunción de hablar palabra en mi nombre, a quien yo no le haya mandado hablar, o que hable en nombre de dioses ajenos, el tal profeta morirá.

But that man of God will die who is not careful and speaks in My name what I did not tell him to speak, or speaks in the name of other gods.’

21 Y si dices en tu corazón: ¿Cómo conoceremos la palabra que Jehová no ha hablado?;

You may say to yourselves, ‘How can we know which words the Lord has not spoken?’

22 s i el profeta habla en nombre de Jehová, y no se cumple lo que dijo, ni acontece, es palabra que Jehová no ha hablado; con presunción la habló el tal profeta; no tengas temor de él.

When a man who speaks for God speaks in the name of the Lord, and what he says does not come true, that word is not from the Lord. The man has spoken on his own. Do not be afraid of him.
