1 А след Авимелеха издигна се да избави Израиля един Исахаров мъж Тола, син на Фуя, син на Додо; и той живееше в Самир у Ефремовата хълмиста земя.

And after Abimelech, there rose up to save Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir on mount Ephraim.

2 И като съди Израиля двадесет и три години, умря, и бе погребан в Самир.

And he judged Israel twenty-three years; and he died, and was buried in Shamir.

3 А подир него се издигна галаадецът Яир, който съди Израиля двадесет и две години.

And after him rose up Jair, a Gileadite; and he judged Israel twenty-two years.

4 Т ой имаше тридесет сина, които яздеха на тридесет осела; и имаха тридесет града, намиращи се в галаадската земя, които и до днес се наричат Яирови паланки.

And he had thirty sons who rode on thirty ass colts; and they had thirty cities, which are called the villages of Jair to this day, which are in the land of Gilead.

5 И Яир умря и бе погребан в Камон.

And Jair died, and was buried in Kamon.

6 И израилтяните пак сториха зло пред Господа, като служеха на ваалимите, на астартите, на сирийските богове, на сидонските богове, на моавските богове, на боговете на амонците и на боговете на филистимците, и оставиха Господа и не служиха Нему.

And the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of Jehovah, and served the Baals, and the Ashtoreths, and the gods of Syria, and the gods of Zidon, and the gods of Moab, and the gods of the children of Ammon, and the gods of the Philistines; and they forsook Jehovah, and served him not.

7 З атова гневът на Господа пламна против Израиля и Той ги предаде в ръцете на филистимците и в ръцете на амонците.

And the anger of Jehovah was hot against Israel, and he sold him into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the children of Ammon.

8 О тая година те измъчваха и притесняваха израилтяните осемнадесет години, всичките израилтяни, които бяха оттатък Иордан в земята на аморейците, която е в Галаад.

And they oppressed and crushed the children of Israel in that year; eighteen years all the children of Israel that were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in Gilead.

9 П ри това, амонците преминаха Иордан, за да воюват против Юда, против Вениамина и против Ефремовия дом; така че Израил се намираше в крайно утеснение.

And the children of Ammon passed over the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; and Israel was greatly distressed.

10 Т огава израилтяните извикаха към Господа, като казваха: Съгрешихме Ти, защото оставихме нашия Бог та служихме на ваалимите.

And the children of Israel cried to Jehovah, saying, We have sinned against thee, both because we have forsaken our God, and also served the Baals.

11 А Господ каза на израилтяните: Не избавих ли ви от египтяните, от аморейците, от амонците и от филистимците?

And Jehovah said to the children of Israel, Did I not from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

12 С ъщо и когато сидонците, амаличаните и маонците ви притесняваха, и извикахте към Мене, Аз ви избавих от ръката им.

The Zidonians also, and Amalek and Maon oppressed you, and ye cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.

13 А въпреки това, вие Ме оставихте та служихте на други богове; за туй няма да ви избавям вече.

But ye have forsaken me, and served other gods; therefore I will save you no more.

14 И дете, викайте към боговете, които сте си избрали; те нека ви избавят във време на утеснението ви.

Go and cry to the gods that ye have chosen: let them save you in the time of your trouble.

15 А израилтяните казаха на Господа: Съгрешихме; стори ни каквото Ти е угодно; само избави ни днес, молим Ти се.

And the children of Israel said to Jehovah, We have sinned. Do thou unto us according to all that is good in thy sight; only deliver us, we pray thee, this day.

16 И те отмахнаха отпред себе си чуждите богове та служиха на Господа; и Неговата душа се смили за окаянието на Израиля.

And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served Jehovah; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israel.

17 Т огава Амонците се събраха та разположиха стан в Галаад. Събраха се израилтяните та разположиха стан в Масфа.

And the children of Ammon were called together and encamped in Gilead; and the children of Israel gathered together and encamped in Mizpeh.

18 И людете и галаадските началници си рекоха едни на други: Който започне да се бие с амонците, той ще стане началник на всичките галаадски жители.

And the people, the chief men of Gilead, said one to another, Who is the man that will begin to fight against the children of Ammon? he shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
