1 J ehovah, I have called upon thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee.

(140-1) ^^Псалом Давида.^^ Господи! к тебе взываю: поспеши ко мне, внемли голосу моления моего, когда взываю к Тебе.

2 L et my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening oblation.

(140-2) Да направится молитва моя, как фимиам, пред лице Твое, воздеяние рук моих--как жертва вечерняя.

3 S et a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

(140-3) Положи, Господи, охрану устам моим, и огради двери уст моих;

4 I ncline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise deeds of wickedness with men that are workers of iniquity; and let me not eat of their dainties.

(140-4) не дай уклониться сердцу моему к словам лукавым для извинения дел греховных вместе с людьми, делающими беззаконие, и да не вкушу я от сластей их.

5 L et the righteous smite me, it is kindness; and let him reprove me, it is an excellent oil which my head shall not refuse: for yet my prayer also is in their calamities.

(140-5) Пусть наказывает меня праведник: это милость; пусть обличает меня: это лучший елей, который не повредит голове моей; но мольбы мои--против злодейств их.

6 W hen their judges are thrown down from the rocks, they shall hear my words, for they are sweet.

(140-6) Вожди их рассыпались по утесам и слышат слова мои, что они кротки.

7 O ur bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol, as when one cutteth and cleaveth upon the earth.

(140-7) Как будто землю рассекают и дробят нас; сыплются кости наши в челюсти преисподней.

8 F or unto thee, Jehovah, Lord, are mine eyes; in thee do I trust: leave not my soul destitute.

(140-8) Но к Тебе, Господи, Господи, очи мои; на Тебя уповаю, не отринь души моей!

9 K eep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

(140-9) Сохрани меня от силков, поставленных для меня, от тенет беззаконников.

10 L et the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal pass over.

(140-10) Падут нечестивые в сети свои, а я перейду.
