1 L os fariseos, y algunos de los escribas que habían venido de Jerusalén, se reunieron alrededor de El;

Then the Pharisees and some of the scribes came together to Him, having come from Jerusalem.

2 y vieron que algunos de sus discípulos comían el pan con manos inmundas, es decir, sin lavar.

Now when they saw some of His disciples eat bread with defiled, that is, with unwashed hands, they found fault.

3 ( Porque los fariseos y todos los judíos no comen a menos de que se laven las manos cuidadosamente, observando así la tradición de los ancianos;

For the Pharisees and all the Jews do not eat unless they wash their hands in a special way, holding the tradition of the elders.

4 y cuando vuelven de la plaza, no comen a menos de que se laven; y hay muchas otras cosas que han recibido para observar las, como el lavamiento de los vasos, de los cántaros y de las vasijas de cobre.)

When they come from the marketplace, they do not eat unless they wash. And there are many other things which they have received and hold, like the washing of cups, pitchers, copper vessels, and couches.

5 E ntonces los fariseos y los escribas le preguntaron: ¿Por qué tus discípulos no andan conforme a la tradición de los ancianos, sino que comen con manos inmundas ?

Then the Pharisees and scribes asked Him, “Why do Your disciples not walk according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashed hands?”

6 Y El les dijo: Bien profetizó Isaías de vosotros, hipócritas, como está escrito: “ Este pueblo con los labios me honra, pero su corazon esta muy lejos de mi.

He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.

7 “ Mas en vano me rinden culto, enseñando como doctrinas preceptos de hombres.”

And in vain they worship Me, Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’

8 D ejando el mandamiento de Dios, os aferráis a la tradición de los hombres.

For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men —the washing of pitchers and cups, and many other such things you do.”

9 T ambién les decía: Astutamente violáis el mandamiento de Dios para guardar vuestra tradición.

He said to them, “ All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.

10 P orque Moisés dijo: “ Honra a tu padre y a tu madre ”; y: “ El que hable mal de su padre o de su madre, que muera;”

For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’

11 p ero vosotros decís: “Si un hombre dice al padre o a la madre: ‘Cualquier cosa mía con que pudieras beneficiarte es corbán (es decir, ofrenda a Dios ) ’”;

But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”—’ (that is, a gift to God ),

12 y a no le dejáis hacer nada en favor de su padre o de su madre;

then you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother,

13 i nvalidando así la palabra de Dios por vuestra tradición, la cual habéis transmitido, y hacéis muchas cosas semejantes a éstas.

making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”

14 Y llamando de nuevo a la multitud, les decía: Escuchadme todos y entended:

When He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand:

15 n o hay nada fuera del hombre que al entrar en él pueda contaminarlo; sino que lo que sale de adentro del hombre es lo que contamina al hombre.

There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man.

16 S i alguno tiene oídos para oír, que oiga.

If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!”

17 Y cuando dejó a la multitud y entró en la casa, sus discípulos le preguntaron acerca de la parábola.

When He had entered a house away from the crowd, His disciples asked Him concerning the parable.

18 Y El les dijo: ¿También vosotros sois tan faltos de entendimiento? ¿No comprendéis que todo lo que de afuera entra al hombre no le puede contaminar,

So He said to them, “Are you thus without understanding also? Do you not perceive that whatever enters a man from outside cannot defile him,

19 p orque no entra en su corazón, sino en el estómago, y se elimina ? (Declarando así limpios todos los alimentos.)

because it does not enter his heart but his stomach, and is eliminated, thus purifying all foods?”

20 Y decía: Lo que sale del hombre, eso es lo que contamina al hombre.

And He said, “What comes out of a man, that defiles a man.

21 P orque de adentro, del corazón de los hombres, salen los malos pensamientos, fornicaciones, robos, homicidios, adulterios,

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

22 a varicias, maldades, engaños, sensualidad, envidia, calumnia, orgullo e insensatez.

thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lewdness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness.

23 T odas estas maldades de adentro salen, y contaminan al hombre. La mujer sirofenicia

All these evil things come from within and defile a man.” A Gentile Shows Her Faith

24 L evantándose de allí, se fue a la región de Tiro, y entrando en una casa, no quería que nadie lo supiera, pero no pudo pasar inadvertido;

From there He arose and went to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He entered a house and wanted no one to know it, but He could not be hidden.

25 s ino que enseguida, al oír hablar de El, una mujer cuya hijita tenía un espíritu inmundo, fue y se postró a sus pies.

For a woman whose young daughter had an unclean spirit heard about Him, and she came and fell at His feet.

26 L a mujer era gentil, sirofenicia de nacimiento; y le rogaba que echara fuera de su hija al demonio.

The woman was a Greek, a Syro-Phoenician by birth, and she kept asking Him to cast the demon out of her daughter.

27 Y El le decía: Deja que primero los hijos se sacien, pues no está bien tomar el pan de los hijos y echarlo a los perrillos.

But Jesus said to her, “Let the children be filled first, for it is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.”

28 P ero ella respondió y le dijo: Es cierto, Señor; pero aun los perrillos debajo de la mesa comen las migajas de los hijos.

And she answered and said to Him, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”

29 Y El le dijo: Por esta respuesta, vete; el demonio ha salido de tu hija.

Then He said to her, “For this saying go your way; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

30 C uando ella volvió a su casa, halló que la niña estaba acostada en la cama, y que el demonio había salido. Curación de un sordomudo

And when she had come to her house, she found the demon gone out, and her daughter lying on the bed. Jesus Heals a Deaf-Mute

31 V olviendo a salir de la región de Tiro, pasó por Sidón y llegó al mar de Galilea, atravesando la región de Decápolis.

Again, departing from the region of Tyre and Sidon, He came through the midst of the region of Decapolis to the Sea of Galilee.

32 Y le trajeron a uno que era sordo y que hablaba con dificultad, y le rogaron que pusiera la mano sobre él.

Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him.

33 E ntonces Jesús, tomándolo aparte de la multitud, a solas, le metió los dedos en los oídos, y escupiendo, le tocó la lengua con la saliva;

And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue.

34 y levantando los ojos al cielo, suspiró profundamente y le dijo: ¡Effatá!, esto es: ¡Abrete!

Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.”

35 Y al instante se abrieron sus oídos, y desapareció el impedimento de su lengua, y hablaba con claridad.

Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.

36 Y Jesús les ordenó que a nadie se lo dijeran; pero mientras más se lo ordenaba, tanto más ellos lo proclamaban.

Then He commanded them that they should tell no one; but the more He commanded them, the more widely they proclaimed it.

37 Y se asombraron en gran manera, diciendo: Todo lo ha hecho bien; aun a los sordos hace oír y a los mudos hablar.

And they were astonished beyond measure, saying, “He has done all things well. He makes both the deaf to hear and the mute to speak.”
