1 Y sucedió que al cabo de los veinte años, en los cuales Salomón había edificado la casa del Señor y su propia casa,

It came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the house of the Lord and his own house,

2 r eedificó las ciudades que Hiram le había dado, y estableció allí a los hijos de Israel.

that the cities which Hiram had given to Solomon, Solomon built them; and he settled the children of Israel there.

3 D espués Salomón fue a Hamat de Soba y la tomó.

And Solomon went to Hamath Zobah and seized it.

4 Y reedificó Tadmor en el desierto y todas las ciudades de almacenaje que había edificado en Hamat.

He also built Tadmor in the wilderness, and all the storage cities which he built in Hamath.

5 T ambién reedificó Bet-horón de arriba y Bet-horón de abajo, ciudades fortificadas, con muros, puertas y barras;

He built Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars,

6 y Baalat y todas las ciudades de almacenaje que Salomón tenía, y todas las ciudades para sus carros, y las ciudades para sus hombres de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón quiso edificar en Jerusalén, en el Líbano y en toda la tierra de su dominio.

also Baalath and all the storage cities that Solomon had, and all the chariot cities and the cities of the cavalry, and all that Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

7 A todo el pueblo que había quedado de los hititas, amorreos, ferezeos, heveos y de los jebuseos, que no eran de Israel,

All the people who were left of the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not of Israel—

8 e s decir, a sus descendientes que habían quedado en la tierra después de ellos, a quienes los hijos de Israel no habían destruido, Salomón les impuso leva de servidumbre hasta el día de hoy.

that is, their descendants who were left in the land after them, whom the children of Israel did not destroy—from these Solomon raised forced labor, as it is to this day.

9 M as de los hijos de Israel Salomón no hizo esclavos para su obra, porque ellos eran hombres de guerra, sus capitanes escogidos, los comandantes de sus carros y sus hombres de a caballo.

But Solomon did not make the children of Israel servants for his work. Some were men of war, captains of his officers, captains of his chariots, and his cavalry.

10 Y estos eran los principales oficiales del rey Salomón: doscientos cincuenta que gobernaban sobre el pueblo.

And others were chiefs of the officials of King Solomon: two hundred and fifty, who ruled over the people.

11 Y Salomón hizo subir a la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a la casa que él le había edificado; pues dijo: Mi mujer no habitará en la casa de David, rey de Israel, porque son sagrados los lugares donde el arca del Señor ha entrado.

Now Solomon brought the daughter of Pharaoh up from the City of David to the house he had built for her, for he said, “My wife shall not dwell in the house of David king of Israel, because the places to which the ark of the Lord has come are holy.”

12 E ntonces Salomón ofreció holocaustos al Señor sobre el altar del Señor que había edificado delante del pórtico;

Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the Lord on the altar of the Lord which he had built before the vestibule,

13 y lo hizo conforme a lo prescrito para cada día, ofreciéndolos conforme al mandamiento de Moisés, para los días de reposo, las lunas nuevas y las tres fiestas anuales: la fiesta de los panes sin levadura, la fiesta de las semanas y la fiesta de los tabernáculos.

according to the daily rate, offering according to the commandment of Moses, for the Sabbaths, the New Moons, and the three appointed yearly feasts—the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Feast of Weeks, and the Feast of Tabernacles.

14 Y conforme a las ordenanzas de su padre David, designó las clases sacerdotales en sus servicios, a los levitas en sus deberes de alabar y ministrar delante de los sacerdotes según lo prescrito para cada día y a los porteros por sus clases para cada puerta; porque así lo había ordenado David, hombre de Dios.

And, according to the order of David his father, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their service, the Levites for their duties (to praise and serve before the priests) as the duty of each day required, and the gatekeepers by their divisions at each gate; for so David the man of God had commanded.

15 Y no se apartaron del mandamiento del rey tocante a los sacerdotes y a los levitas en cosa alguna, ni tocante a los almacenes.

They did not depart from the command of the king to the priests and Levites concerning any matter or concerning the treasuries.

16 A sí fue llevada a cabo toda la obra de Salomón desde el día en que se echaron los cimientos de la casa del Señor hasta que fue terminada. Así fue acabada la casa del Señor.

Now all the work of Solomon was well-ordered from the day of the foundation of the house of the Lord until it was finished. So the house of the Lord was completed.

17 E ntonces Salomón fue a Ezión-geber y a Elot junto a la costa en la tierra de Edom.

Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the seacoast, in the land of Edom.

18 Y por medio de sus siervos, Hiram le envió naves y marinos conocedores del mar; y éstos fueron con los siervos de Salomón a Ofir, y de allí tomaron cuatrocientos cincuenta talentos de oro, que llevaron al rey Salomón.

And Hiram sent him ships by the hand of his servants, and servants who knew the sea. They went with the servants of Solomon to Ophir, and acquired four hundred and fifty talents of gold from there, and brought it to King Solomon.
