4 C ei ce părăsesc Legea îi laudă pe cei răi, dar cei ce păzesc Legea îi confruntă.

They that forsake the law praise the wicked; but such as keep the law contend with them.

5 O amenii răi nu înţeleg justiţia, dar cei ce caută pe Domnul o înţeleg în totalitate.

Evil men understand not judgment; but they that seek Jehovah understand everything.

6 M ai bine un sărac care umblă în integritatea lui, decât un bogat ale cărui căi sunt corupte.

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse, double in ways, though he be rich.

7 C el ce păzeşte Legea este un fiu priceput, dar cel ce se însoţeşte cu cei lacomi îşi face de ruşine tatăl.

Whoso observeth the law is a son that hath understanding; but he that is a companion of profligates bringeth shame to his father.

8 C ine îşi înmulţeşte averea prin dobândă excesivă strânge pentru cel milos faţă de săraci.

He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance gathereth it for him that is gracious to the poor.

9 D acă cineva refuză să mai asculte Legea, chiar şi rugăciunea lui este privită ca fiind o urâciune.

He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is an abomination.

10 C ine conduce pe cel drept pe o cale rea va cădea el însuşi în propria-i groapă, dar cei integri vor primi o bună moştenire.

Whoso causeth the upright to go astray in an evil way, shall himself fall into his own pit; but the perfect shall inherit good.

11 O mul bogat se poate considera înţelept, dar un sărac chibzuit îi cunoaşte valoarea.

A rich man is wise in his own eyes; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

12 C ând triumfă cei drepţi este un mare entuziasm, dar când se ridică cei răi oamenii se ascund.

When the righteous triumph, there is great glory; but when the wicked rise, men conceal themselves.

13 C ine îşi ascunde păcatele nu va propăşi, dar oricine le mărturiseşte şi renunţă la ele va găsi milă.

He that covereth his transgressions shall not prosper; but whoso confesseth and forsaketh shall obtain mercy.

14 B inecuvântat este omul care este întotdeauna precaut, dar cel ce-şi împietreşte inima va cădea în necaz.

Happy is the man that feareth always; but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into evil.

A roaring lion, and a ranging bear, is a wicked ruler over a poor people.

The prince void of intelligence is also a great oppressor: he that hateth covetousness shall prolong days.

A man laden with the blood of person, fleeth to the pit: let no man stay him.

18 C el ce umblă în integritate va fi salvat, dar omul ale cărui căi sunt corupte va cădea pe neaşteptate.

Whoso walketh in integrity shall be saved; but he that is perverted in double ways, shall fall in one.

19 C ine îşi lucrează pământul se va sătura de pâine, dar cel ce umblă după deşertăciuni se va sătura de sărăcie.

He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread; but he that followeth the worthless shall have poverty enough.

20 U n om credincios va fi binecuvântat pe deplin, dar cel nerăbdător să se îmbogăţească nu va rămâne nepedepsit.

A faithful man aboundeth with blessings; but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

21 N u este bine să fii părtinitor – chiar şi pentru o bucată de pâine omul poate să păcătuiască.

To have respect of persons is not good; but for a piece of bread will a man transgress.

He that hath an evil eye hasteth after wealth, and knoweth not that poverty shall come upon him.

He that rebuketh a man shall afterwards find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

He that is puffed up in soul exciteth contention; but he that relieth upon Jehovah shall be made fat.

26 C el ce se încrede în inima lui este un prost, dar cine umblă în înţelepciune va fi salvat.

He that confideth in his own heart is a fool; but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.

27 C ine dă săracului nu va duce lipsă, dar cine închide ochii va avea parte de multe blesteme.

He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack; but he that withdraweth his eyes shall have many a curse.

28 C ând se ridică cei răi, oamenii se ascund, dar când pier ei, cei drepţi se înmulţesc.

When the wicked rise, men hide themselves; but when they perish, the righteous increase.
