1 F ă-mi dreptate, Dumnezeule, apără-mi pricina în faţa unui neam necredincios! Scapă-mă de omul înşelător şi nedrept!

Judge me, O God, and plead my cause against an ungodly nation; deliver me from the deceitful and unrighteous man.

2 T u eşti Dumnezeu, eşti adăpostul meu! De ce mă alungi? De ce trebuie să umblu întristat, asuprit de duşman?

For thou art the God of my strength: why hast thou cast me off? why go I about mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

3 T rimite-Ţi lumina şi adevărul, ca să mă călăuzească, să mă conducă la muntele Tău cel sfânt şi la locuinţa Ta!

Send out thy light and thy truth: they shall lead me, they shall bring me to thy holy mount, and unto thy habitations.

4 S ă ajung la altarul lui Dumnezeu, la Dumnezeul nespusei mele bucurii! Te voi lăuda din liră, Dumnezeule, Dumnezeul meu!

Then will I go unto the altar of God, unto the God of the gladness of my joy: yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God, my God.

5 S uflete al meu, de ce te mâhneşti, şi de ce gemi înăuntrul meu? Nădăjduieşte în Dumnezeu, căci din nou Îl voi lăuda, pe El, Mântuitorul meu şi Dumnezeul meu!

Why art thou cast down, my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, the health of my countenance, and my God.
