1 O profeţie. Cuvântul Domnului cu privire la Israel, zice Domnul, Cel Ce a întins cerurile şi a întemeiat pământul, Cel Ce a întocmit duhul omului înăuntrul lui:

The burden of the word of Jehovah concerning Israel. saith Jehovah, who stretcheth out the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him:

2 „ Iată, voi preface Ierusalimul într-un potir ameţitor pentru toate popoarele dimprejur şi chiar şi pentru Iuda, atunci când Ierusalimul va fi asediat.

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of bewilderment unto all the peoples round about, and also against Judah shall it be in the siege against Jerusalem.

3 Î n ziua aceea, voi preface Ierusalimul într-o piatră grea pentru toate popoarele. Toţi cei ce vor încerca să o mişte se vor răni; da, toate neamurile pământului se vor strânge împotriva lui.

And it shall come to pass in that day I will make Jerusalem a burdensome stone unto all peoples: all that burden themselves with it shall certainly be wounded, and all the nations of the earth shall be assembled together against it.

4 Î n ziua aceea, zice Domnul, voi lovi toţi caii cu panică, iar pe călăreţi cu nebunie. Voi avea însă ochii deschişi asupra Casei lui Iuda, atunci când voi lovi cu orbire toţi caii popoarelor!

In that day, saith Jehovah, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness; but I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the peoples with blindness.

5 A tunci conducătorii lui Iuda îşi vor zice în inima lor: «Locuitorii Ierusalimului sunt puterea noastră, prin Domnul Oştirilor, Dumnezeul lor!»

And the leaders of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength through Jehovah of hosts their God.

6 Î n ziua aceea, îi voi face pe conducătorii lui Iuda ca un vas cu jăratic sub o grămadă de lemne şi ca o torţă aprinsă într-un snop! Ei vor devora, în dreapta şi în stânga, toate popoarele din jur, în timp ce Ierusalimul va fi locuit din nou pe propriul lui loc.

In that day will I make the leaders of Judah like a hearth of fire among wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the peoples round about, on the right hand and on the left; and Jerusalem shall dwell again in her own place, in Jerusalem.

7 D omnul va izbăvi mai întâi corturile lui Iuda, pentru ca măreţia Casei lui David şi măreţia locuitorilor Ierusalimului să nu se înalţe peste Iuda.

And Jehovah shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem be not magnified over Judah.

8 Î n ziua aceea, Domnul îi va ocroti pe locuitorii Ierusalimului, astfel că cel mai neînsemnat dintre ei va fi, în acea zi, ca şi David, iar Casa lui David va fi ca Dumnezeu, ca Îngerul Domnului înaintea lor.

In that day will Jehovah defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that stumbleth among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David as God, as the Angel of Jehovah before them.

9 Î n ziua aceea, voi căuta să nimicesc toate neamurile care vor veni împotriva Ierusalimului. Plânset pentru Cel pe Care L-au străpuns

And it shall come to pass in that day, I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

10 Ş i voi turna peste Casa lui David şi peste locuitorii Ierusalimului un duh de har şi de rugăciune. Vor privi la Mine, la Cel pe Care L-au străpuns şi Îl vor jeli cum jeleşte cineva pe singurul său fiu şi se vor tângui amarnic, cum se tânguie cineva după întâiul născut.

And I will pour upon the house of David and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplications; and they shall look on me whom they pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for an only, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for firstborn.

11 Î n ziua aceea, jalea va fi mare în Ierusalim, la fel ca jalea lui Hadad-Rimon, în valea Meghido.

In that day shall there be a great mourning in Jerusalem, as the mourning of Hadad-rimmon in the valley of Megiddon.

12 Ţ ara va jeli, fiecare clan jelind în mod separat: clanul casei lui David, separat, şi soţiile lor, separat; clanul casei lui Natan, separat, şi soţiile lor, separat;

And the land shall mourn, every family apart: the family of the house of David apart, and their wives apart; the family of the house of Nathan apart, and their wives apart;

13 c lanul casei lui Levi, separat, şi soţiile lor, separat; clanul lui Şimei, separat, şi soţiile lor, separat;

the family of the house of Levi apart, and their wives apart; the family of Shimei apart, and their wives apart;

14 t oate celelalte clanuri rămase, adică fiecare clan, separat, şi soţiile lor, separat.

all the families that remain, every family apart, and their wives apart.
