In the twenty-seventh year of Jeroboam king of Israel, Azariah son of Amaziah, king of Judah, began to reign.

2 A zaria era în vârstă de şaisprezece ani când a devenit rege şi a domnit la Ierusalim timp de cincizeci şi doi de ani. Mama lui se numea Iecolia şi era din Ierusalim.

He was sixteen years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty-two years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jecholiah of Jerusalem.

And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah, according to all that his father Amaziah had done.

Only, the high places were not removed: the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

5 D omnul l-a lovit pe rege cu lepră şi a rămas lepros până la moarte. El a locuit într-o casă izolată. Cel care supraveghea palatul şi judeca poporul ţării era Iotam, fiul regelui.

And Jehovah smote the king, so that he was a leper to the day of his death, and dwelt in a separate house. And Jotham the king's son was over the house, judging the people of the land.

7 A zaria s-a culcat alături de părinţii săi şi a fost înmormântat alături de părinţii săi, în Cetatea lui David. Şi în locul lui a domnit fiul său Iotam. Domnia lui Zaharia peste Israel

And Azariah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David; and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

8 Z aharia, fiul lui Ieroboam, a început să domnească peste Israel, în Samaria, în al treizeci şi optulea an al domniei lui Azaria, regele lui Iuda, şi a domnit timp de şase luni.

In the thirty-eighth year of Azariah king of Judah, Zechariah the son of Jeroboam reigned over Israel in Samaria, six months.

9 E l a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului, la fel cum au făcut strămoşii săi. El nu s-a depărtat de păcatele lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat, cel care l-a făcut pe Israel să păcătuiască.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah, according as his fathers had done: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

10 Ş alum, fiul lui Iabeş, a uneltit împotriva lui, l-a lovit înaintea poporului şi l-a omorât, după care a domnit în locul lui.

And Shallum the son of Jabesh conspired against him, and smote him before the people, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

12 A şa s-a împlinit Cuvântul Domnului cu privire la Iehu, care zicea astfel: „Urmaşii tăi vor domni peste Israel până la a patra generaţie.“ Domnia lui Şalum peste Israel

This was the word of Jehovah which he spoke to Jehu saying, Thy sons shall sit upon the throne of Israel unto the fourth. And so it came to pass.

Shallum the son of Jabesh began to reign in the thirty-ninth year of Uzziah king of Judah; and he reigned a full month in Samaria.

14 A tunci Menahem, fiul lui Gadi, a plecat din Tirţa şi a venit în Samaria. El l-a ucis pe Şalum, fiul lui Iabeş, în Samaria, după care a domnit în locul lui.

And Menahem the son of Gadi went up from Tirzah, and came to Samaria, and smote Shallum the son of Jabesh in Samaria, and slew him, and reigned in his stead.

Then Menahem smote Tiphsah, and all that were therein, and its territory from Tirzah, because they did not open; and he smote: all the women in it that were with child he ripped up.

In the thirty-ninth year of Azariah king of Judah, Menahem the son of Gadi began to reign over Israel, for ten years, in Samaria.

18 T oată viaţa el a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului şi nu s-a depărtat de păcatele lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat, cel care l-a făcut pe Israel să păcătuiască.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not, all his days, from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

19 C ând Pul, împăratul Asiriei, a invadat ţara, Menahem i-a dat lui Pul o mie de talanţi de argint pentru ca acesta să-l ajute să-şi întărească stăpânirea.

Pul the king of Assyria came against the land; and Menahem gave Pul a thousand talents of silver, that his hand might be with him to establish the kingdom in his hand.

20 M enahem a cerut argintul acesta de la toţi oamenii înstăriţi din Israel, fiecare dându-i împăratului Asiriei câte cincizeci de şecheli de argint. Aşa că împăratul Asiriei s-a întors şi nu a mai zăbovit în ţară.

And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, of all those who were wealthy, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. And the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.

In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, for two years.

24 E l a făcut ce este rău înaintea Domnului şi nu s-a depărtat de păcatele lui Ieroboam, fiul lui Nebat, cel care l-a făcut pe Israel să păcătuiască.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

25 U nul dintre ofiţerii lui Pekahia, şi anume Pekah, fiul lui Remalia, a uneltit împotriva lui şi, împreună cu cincizeci de ghiladiţi, l-a omorât pe rege, precum şi pe Argob şi pe Arieh, în Samaria, în fortăreaţa palatului regelui. Aşadar, Pekah l-a ucis pe Pekahia şi a domnit în locul lui.

And Pekah the son of Remaliah, his captain, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the fortress of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites; and he slew him, and reigned in his stead.

In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, for twenty years.

And he did evil in the sight of Jehovah: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.

29 Î n timpul domniei lui Pekah, regele lui Israel, Tiglat-Pileser, împăratul Asiriei, a capturat cetăţile: Iyon, Abel-Bet-Maaca, Ianoah, Kedeş, Haţor, Ghilad şi Galileea, precum şi toată ţara lui Neftali şi i-a dus pe locuitorii lor în captivitate în Asiria.

In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria came and took Ijon, and Abel-Beth-Maachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

30 A poi Osea, fiul lui Ela, a uneltit împotriva lui Pekah, fiul lui Remalia, şi l-a omorât. Osea a început să domnească în locul lui, în al douăzecilea an al domniei lui Iotam, fiul lui Uzia.

And Hoshea the son of Elah made a conspiracy against Pekah the son of Remaliah, and smote him and slew him; and he reigned in his stead, in the twentieth year of Jotham the son of Uzziah.

In the second year of Pekah the son of Remaliah, king of Israel, Jotham the son of Uzziah, king of Judah, began to reign.

33 E l era în vârstă de douăzeci şi cinci de ani când a început să domnească şi a domnit la Ierusalim timp de şaisprezece ani. Mama lui se numea Ieruşa şi era fiica lui Ţadok.

He was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jerusha, the daughter of Zadok.

And he did what was right in the sight of Jehovah: he did according to all that his father Uzziah had done.

35 T otuşi înălţimile nu le-a îndepărtat şi poporul încă mai aducea jertfe şi tămâie pe înălţimi. El a zidit Poarta de Sus a Casei Domnului.

Only, the high places were not removed: the people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places. It was he who built the upper gate of the house of Jehovah.

37 Î n acele zile Domnul a început să trimită împotriva lui Iuda pe Reţin, regele Aramului, şi pe Pekah, fiul lui Remalia.

In those days Jehovah began to send against Judah Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remaliah.

38 I otam s-a culcat alături de părinţii săi şi a fost înmormântat alături de părinţii săi, în cetatea strămoşului său David. Şi în locul lui a domnit fiul său Ahaz.

And Jotham slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David his father; and Ahaz his son reigned in his stead.
