1 E sperei com paciência pelo Senhor, e ele se inclinou para mim e ouviu o meu clamor.

I waited patiently for Jehovah; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 T ambém me tirou duma cova de destruição, dum charco de lodo; pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha, firmou os meus passos.

And he brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock; he hath established my goings:

3 P ôs na minha boca um cântico novo, um hino ao nosso Deus; muitos verão isso e temerão, e confiarão no Senhor.

And he hath put a new song in my mouth, praise unto our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall confide in Jehovah.

4 B em-aventurado o homem que faz do Senhor a sua confiança, e que não atenta para os soberbos nem para os apóstatas mentirosos.

Blessed is the man that hath made Jehovah his confidence, and turneth not to the proud, and to such as turn aside to lies.

5 M uitas são, Senhor, Deus meu, as maravilhas que tens operado e os teus pensamentos para conosco; ninguém há que se possa comparar a ti; eu quisera anunciá-los, e manifestá-los, mas são mais do que se podem contar.

Thou, O Jehovah my God, hast multiplied thy marvellous works, and thy thoughts toward us: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee; would I declare and speak, they are more than can be numbered.

6 S acrifício e oferta não desejas; abriste-me os ouvidos; holocauto e oferta de expiação pelo pecado não reclamaste.

Sacrifice and oblation thou didst not desire: ears hast thou prepared me. Burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not demanded;

7 E ntão disse eu: Eis aqui venho; no rolo do livro está escrito a meu respeito:

Then said I, Behold, I come, in the volume of the book it is written of me—

8 D eleito-me em fazer a tua vontade, ó Deus meu; sim, a tua lei está dentro do meu coração.

To do thy good pleasure, my God, is my delight, and thy law is within my heart.

9 T enho proclamado boas-novas de justiça na grande congregação; eis que não retive os meus lábios;

I have published righteousness in the great congregation: behold, I have not withheld my lips, Jehovah, thou knowest.

10 N ão ocultei dentro do meu coração a tua justiça; apregoei a tua fidelidade e a tua salvação; não escondi da grande congregação a tua benignidade e a tua verdade.

I have not hidden thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth from the great congregation.

11 N ão detenhas para comigo, Senhor a tua compaixão; a tua benignidade e a tua fidelidade sempre me guardem.

Withhold not thou, Jehovah, thy tender mercies from me; let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.

12 P ois males sem número me têm rodeado; as minhas iniqüidades me têm alcançado, de modo que não posso ver; são mais numerosas do que os cabelos da minha cabeça, pelo que desfalece o meu coração.

For innumerable evils have compassed me about: mine iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head: and my heart hath failed me.

13 D igna-te, Senhor, livra-me; Senhor, apressa-te em meu auxílio.

Be pleased, O Jehovah, to deliver me; Jehovah, make haste to my help.

14 S ejam ã uma envergonhados e confundidos os que buscam a minha vida para destruí-la; tornem atrás e confundam-se os que me desejam o mal.

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be turned backward and confounded that take pleasure in mine adversity;

15 D esolados sejam em razão da sua afronta os que me dizem: Ah! Ah!

Let them be desolate, because of their shame, that say unto me, Aha! Aha!

16 R egozijem-se e alegrem-se em ti todos os que te buscam. Digam continuamente os que amam a tua salvação: Engrandecido seja o Senhor.

Let all those that seek thee be glad and rejoice in thee; let such as love thy salvation say continually, Jehovah be magnified!

17 E u, na verdade, sou pobre e necessitado, mas o Senhor cuida de mim. Tu és o meu auxílio e o meu libertador; não te detenhas, ó Deus meu.

But I am afflicted and needy: the Lord thinketh upon me. Thou art my help and my deliverer: my God, make no delay.
